Hi there..This is my first post and just have a few questions. All of your posts have been very helpful.

I am 30 and my husband is 33. We have been married 5 years and never been on bc....we really started ttc around a year and 1/2 ago...we have had 3 IUI's with clomid and all BFN. My body reacted well to Clomid...with average a 4-5 follicles each time. My husband's sperm count is a little low....around 12 mil washed 1st iui, around 3 mil 2nd iui and around 7 mil for the 3rd time. My af arrived yesterday. I called doctor and they said I need to schedule another consultation with the dr....I don't want to miss this cycle, tomorrow with be Day 3(which is when I normally start taking the clomid)

I know that a lot of you have done 3 iui's then moved straight to IVF....Have any of you moved to injections? What is the main difference b/w clomid and injections?

Thanks so much and again thanks for your posts....very helpful since I don't like to discuss with family or friends.

Hi Lori, we have had 5 iuis, and now i am moving to IVF, we are using donor sperm and also my fertility is tested as ok, so i am in the unexplained area, ????

I dont know what to say, I dont know why its not worked..... ??? wish i did!!!

But i do believe i will be preg soon!!

Lori, if you are responding so well with clomid, why would you need to go to injections? All that will do is to increase the number of your follies. You are already getting 4-5 each time. My RE won't even do an IUI if you have more than 3 mature follies. It seems your problem lies with the sperm, as was most of our problem. Just my opinion, which doesn't matter much, ICSI may be needed for a bfp to happen. But you really need to discuss with your RE. I told my RE that I wanted to be agressive on my first visit to him because of my age. I wish you the best and welcome to the board!!!!

Jovigal....thank you...well, I talked to my RE this morning and asked him if we could give it one more try using Clomid and he said that that he normally only performs 3 iui's with Clomid. I have also heard that Clomid, at times has negative effects to the uterine lining. He said he wants us to look at a few different options, and not feel rushed because it's my 3rd day of cycle...(I have had HSG and my flap tubes are open) he suggests maybe having a Laparoscopy(which you shouldn't perform when taking clomid) to see if there is anything wrong with me, or possibly looking at using injectables....but obviously, the sperm count is on the low side..so who knows...he may recommend going straight to ICSI. So, it looks like we will have to skip any type of treatment this month...which is a bummer.

Sorry to tell you this hun, but I took the progesterone for 12 weeks and my ms was/is extreme!

Lori, I would agree with Jovigal. I also responded well to Clomid but couldn't get my BFP. My tubes were open on lap and DH sperm count was brilliant. I am a true believer of switching to IVF. Thats the only way they are going to find out if its a fertilisation problem or an implantation prob. In my case they think that the tiny hairs in my tubes aren't working and thus the egg is not being transported down in time.
