The Sisterhood of the Blue Stilettos

Post by sassynlv »

WELCOME!!!
Our motto: (not officially ratified yet, this thread is a democracy, you know  ) is:

"Laughter AND ranting are the best medicines" but we like laughter a little bit better!

everyone is welcome here... as long as you are not threatened by rants, and are not easily offended by sometimes bizarre ivf humor! The more the merrier. We welcome rants, big and small as long as there are no personal attacks (should go w/o saying, no?). We are just a motley group of ivf ladies who enjoy their ivf served w/ a side of " 'tude"... thus the blue stilettos. If you have no idea what i am talking about... feel free to refer to the thread where we came from "Do you feel like everyone is getting pregnant except you?" on the general forum (brace yourself for a sometimes bizarre journey   ).

REFERENCE LIST:
The Punter Award (for Excellence in Moronism): awarded to those who are impressive in their ignorance and/or insensitivity to ivf'ers.

The "Reproducers": the ivf version of "The Producers". Don't ask... just read the old thread

The Golden Dildocam Award: awarded to "fertiles" who are impressive in their supportiveness for those of us ivf ladies. (DO NOT send me hate mail on the use of "fertiles"... it is purely used for convenience sake... ooooo, i feel a bit like Oprah!)

Vicky: i, too find it annoying when people have the nerve to interrupt me while checking in... man, you'd think they were paying me or something! dh thinks you all are fab (as i no longer channel my anxiety or rants towards him), but as of last night... i think he is starting to get a bit jealous! , as being on the forum is the first thing i do in the am, and the last thing before i sleep (he just has NO idea how many times i do it inbtwn!!!!!)

Fee: Fee wrote:"Just picked up my new sharps container yesterday. It's cooler than my last one, it has a strap on it. I think it looks like a yellow boxy handbag. They asked me if I wanted a bag to take it in (for privacy/ modesty reasons I assume) and I told them no, I'll just wear it."
now this little boxy handbag sharps container (again, i think what ALL the fashionable ivf'er are wearing this year!). I want one!!! You said it is yellow? ooooo, too bad, not even remotely my color. I don't have a single pair of shoes to match. ah well, must go shopping!!! and i smiled as i read this... at the end i see you strutting out of the office showing off your sharps container .

Meg: i share your "turning in the needle container' paranoia. That is why i have 3 sitting in my bathroom!

Angie: how's work? And how is the whole sniffing thing going? You know, i was thinkin' about this today (CLEARLY, not enough to do at work!!!)... we are TOTALLY like drug addicts. You snort and shoot up, i just shoot up . Come to think of it... a heroin addiction would probably be cheaper!!!!

Does anyone else feel like this is a bit strange? kind of like when you move into a new place... nothing on the walls and there is this echooooooo. I feel like i should be sitting on the floor eating pizza!

Ciao!

Woo-hoo! I love the new place! So much room...we really were a bit crowded before

Thanks for moving us, Sassy. And yeah, I am way addicted to this, too. In fact, I think the only way I'll be able to quit is cold turkey and that isn't happening anytime soon. My dh just shakes his head and every once in a while says "Geez, sure sounds like you have a lot to say" in reference to the frenzied noise of the keyboard clacking away. And he really gets scared when I talk out loud to you guys. You know, the ocassional "Ha, Fee that's hilarious!", or "Ooooooh, good rant!"

Anway, don't know how I got off on that tangent...Just want to welcome everyone to the New Blue Stilettos!

Sassy you are too funny! Please pass me a slice of pizza!

I am so addicted to this site. I spend more time on here than working. I think I'm slacking at work. Oh well, my sanity is more important and you all keep me sane. If I don’t come here and chat, I might go postal at work due to all the hormones. But as someone said in another forum..I could use it as a defense. :-) I actually get an attitude when people take me away from the forums and ask me to do some work. The nerve!

Between shooting up every night and being addicted to this site...I think I need rehab. I start to itch and break out into a sweat when I'm not in here. :(

BTW: Blue if my favorite color! I have the perfect purse to go with this new forum.

Wannababy--Yes! The IVF defense! I'm so glad it's getting around--I have a theory that we could basically get away with pretty much any crime out there! "But Your Honor, you try to get daily injections of hormones shots for months on end while everyone else around you gets pregnant..." I think it would work!

Ah yes, a little elbow room!

Welcome wannababy: this truly is the looney bin you are now rattlin' around in! oh, and btw.. you may not be aware that meg is the MASTER of the ivf defense....

Mia: (she posted at end of last thread): good to see you returned... i thought we might have run you off  ok, so no dusty dash, but still dirty seats??? hmmmm. Nah, i get your aversion to the mess (ESPECIALLY as it is vegas dirt and we know how horrid that stuff is!) Quoting Mia: "Men are so silly, they have no problem wrecking the house or car to get one of their spectacular projects done, but when it comes to clean up, it's like a 10 year old could do a better job. oh well... can't live with em, can't live without them. Isn't that what they say about us? "... Well said, my dear. The difference though is.... we are right (!) (or at least we have trained them to say so while we are cycling :? ). btw, how is the 2ww treating you?????

Meg: Ha! my dh has also mentioned the clickety-clacking! Every once in a while, he's like, "what the he!! are you guys talking about on there????"

Ha..I just go the clickety-clacking response from my DH. He wants to know what I’m so busy typing (on another forum)…especially since I just almost burnt dinner. Too busy reading (and typing) all the posts. I think I have it bad.

What's worse...obsessing over IVF or the forum that discusses IVF? lol

HI girls - love the new home and welcome one and all - as long as you enjoy a good rant and can laugh at this whole crazy process we are doing, you'll fit right in here.

Well - I knew I should have been a party drug user in my youth coz I just get can't get my synarel sniffing technique right at all. I give a big sniff, put my head back and then it all drips out the bottom and I lose it. So then I do another dose and probably overdose on it. I expect it will come back to me (I successfully downregged before ) but perhaps I should practise with $50 notes in the bathroom ...just kidding!

Thanks for the new thread Sassy - I am sure it is going to be hilarious

Yours sniffingly - (god I hate sniffers - they annoy the pants off me).

Geez, Angie, surely there's a way to learn how to do the darned nasal stuff. I mean, how do cocaine users learn? Is there maybe a "snorting for dummies" book you could find somewhere. (Not insinuating that you are a dummy---I don't think I'd be able to do it either!)

*Topic duplication warning for Dec/Jan thread*

WAAAAAAA! Ok, you know how i probably mentioned that i am all calm, etc. Yeah, well, I have lost that "warm and fuzzy" feeling. I just got a call re: my blood work (which was fine, btw  ). BUT... it turns out that my beta will be one day later than i had on my schedule!!!!! one day LATER! (Mia, take special notice...). We were all surprised that my schedule seemed one day ahead from last time, and thought it just a fab surprise. So just to put my mind at ease... thought i would double check when they called. Nope, beta on the 5th, not 4th. They said always 10dp blast ET. Then why does my post ET instructions say the 4th?????? maybe i should have just shown up on the 4th... they wouldn't have turned me away, would they??? ohhhh the torture. It is only 24 hours, but i have been planning on sun, and it felt so do-able... now monday sounds like eons away. To boot, i told my parents and sil (who all know i had ET) that testing was on Mon, just so that i would have a day in case of bfn. Now i have no buffer. So in summary... they moved my cheese, and took my buffer! AHHHHHHH!

I'm sorry, Sassy. That's just cruel and unusual punishment. You should be able to charge your doctor's office for the typo. Maybe $500 for pain and suffering? That should just about cover the cost of a new pair of blue stilettos to wear to your first ultrasound!

unbelievable! (posted in the jan thread to you). That means all my tests so far were a day early! :x I knew it! I even tried to call the clinic the morning of my first BT because it seemed early and nobody answered the phone. so I went in anyway. I even asked them about and as she counted the days she seemed confused but said it was fine. How does this effect all the bw monitoring, did this have impact as to why I am still on 2cc of PIO?? :? I suppose I can wait another day, actually it's better for me because the Green Valley office is open (5-10 min from my house). But they haven't even told me. now I have to ask them about it. I'm tempted to go in for my BW tomorrow anyway. what do you think? would it make a big difference? hcg (if any) should be stronger on fri rather than thurs. i guess.

Mia: they seem to have kept you on your post ET schedule (me, they shifted off my schedule with the first bw, so i should have known.... or i guess i suspected it, just didn't want it to be true  ). My schedule says i would test Sun, Tues and Thurs like yours... but on sat they called and told me to come in on Mon (i was just hoping that all the other bw would be moved up a day, but my beta would stay the same  ). If i were you, i would just keep going in when they have been telling you to... my guess your beta will still be on the 4th. It will show up as + on the 4th or the 5th, i wouldn't worry about it, it will just be a lower # is all. Not sure why yours is on the 4th and mine is on the 5th considering they thawed our blasts the same day, and we had ET same day (although i was later). Just consider yourself lucky and go with it!!! :D
(sorry, i shouldn't have worried you  )

don't worry. it's not your fault. I'm sure they made a mistake. it will be their records that are screwy. all I'm really concerned about is getting a false negative. as long as I can get an hcg count on the 4th, i guess it's fine.

Wow you girls are lucky - it is not a 2ww at all for you! Just over 1ww. Although I am forgetting Sassy's agonising week last week so I guess that counts as 2 in total.

Nonetheless -Monday is eons away - you are right, can't pretend otherwise! It is even along time for me to have to wait to welcome the first blue stiletto'ed lady to get a BFP :D

I have finally worked out the time difference - so you girls on the west of USA are just 4 hours ahead of us here (but a day behind!) I used to think you were all insomniacs ! A day behind ! oh god that 's even long to wait ! better stop - I'm not helping at all am I?

I blame my foggy synarel head - I'm trying to type funny things but it just won't flow - I have writers block.

Fee - where are you? Hope you're not being all conscientious on us!

Off to buy lunch - a healthy sandwich followed by a big chocolate bar!
