Rae, it's pretty ironic but I'm also a PA- in cardiac surgery....But when it comes to this stuff, I'm a complete patient...surfing on the internet for info and getting frustrated with doctor's schedules on responding to questions.

hi ladies

just wanted to say hi and sorry ive not posted for a while. dh got rushed into hospital on sunday morning (he got my out of bed at 4am!) with an infected gall bladder. they were going to operate yesterday but have now decided that they will operate in 6 weeks when the infection has definitely gone. but he's still very poorly and in hospital so i'm not getting much time to post on here at the moment. and what with my hormones being all over the place i'm a crying wreck anyway!!

but i do read your posts and am thinking of all of you every day!!

Shantala, so sorry to hear about your DH's illness

I can just imagine how you would worry - that's hard enough without any hormone craziness.... My thoughts are with you and I hope you get DH home soon!

Shantala, I am so sorry to hear what happened to your DH!!, that must have been so stressfull!!. Are they keeping him admitted until the surgery?, or will they discharge him and have him go back later for it??............I hope you still have energies to concentrate on your cycle, we are all here for you so you can vent with us!!!!!, wishing you and DH the best!!

Nicky, how was your w/e??, also good luck today on your seaweed wrap, sounds delicious!!!!

Rae, hang in there, it is increasing and that is what is important!!!, try not to read that much (yeah right!!

), will keep my fingers crossed for you....when was your scan???(sorry if you said it already)

Karen, about how many embryos to transfer, that is a tough one, you should probably ask your RE what are their statistics for their FET's and see what does he recommends...., if you put back 3 you have to be aware of the complications of becoming pregnant with 3, so ask that as well, you should now all the options very well before making that decision.......keep us posted!!!!.

As for me, I will say this ver very low just in case, don't want to jinx it, but I think I started spotting........., hope that means AF is near. Will keep you guys posted!!!........I am kind of worried, because next week, on Sunday we are going on a cruise for a week with DH, so if AF decides to appear there what will I do with the 2-3 day bw and scan?????

................girls, I am in desperate need for an AF jig........

Hey All,

Sorry I've been slightly MIA for a few days. It's been an exciting week with the Colts going to the Super Bowl…and winning!! There was a big parade and rally downtown yesterday for the players after they flew back from Miami. So that was a fun distraction. But now I'm back to thinking about IVF 24/7…

Let's see I'm trying to get all caught up…

Anna- So sorry to hear about the elevated FSH and the stress it's causing you but I have faith that you will be just fine. Try to not over-surf the internet…sometimes that causes more worry than necessary!!! I really hope that things go well for you at your next appt and you can proceed as planned. Please keep as posted as you learn more. Regarding your question about changes in diet, etc…I am taking a prenatal vitamin and a baby aspirin once a day. I'm also trying to limit my caffeine to a 1/2 caf. Coffee in the morning and then just drink water and green tea. I'm also starting acupuncture next week. Other than that everything is pretty much the same.

Karma- Congratulations on your new job!! Hopefully this one will be less stressful and you can focus on the exciting months coming up. So are you nervous about the injection class? I don't have a class but am just meeting with the nurse on the 16th of Feb to have a quick run through because Lupron starts on the 17th. I have the Lupron already sitting out on the dining room table ready to go…Some days I am so anxious to start and other days I am a nervous wreck. Such a roller coaster this is! Oh, by the way, I ordered mine from a place called ivp care and thought it was reasonable. My cost for everything was $1400 which is better than the $2-$3000 I expected.

Nimble- Nimble I'm glad AF finally arrived even if she arrived with a vengeance!! We really are in a crazy little world when we get excited about AF huh?!?

Vicky- I hope AF shows up for you soon!!!! Sounds like she is on her way...What is your protocol once that happens? Do you have to take BCP as well?

Sha- Welcome!!! I'm with you….so excited but also so scared. I'm happy that DH and I finally have a plan and I feel like we are working towards making our dream of starting a family come true, but also so scared about the potential heartbreak we face if unsuccessful. I'm really trying to keep a PMA. Even found myself browsing in the self help section at the book store this weekend!! Haha!! I'm willing to try just about anything to keep myself optimistic!!

Rae- I think it's a great idea to go to your ob's office and have them double check your levels. I hope that you get some assurance and can relax leading up to your scan in two weeks. I'm thinking about you and wishing you the best!

Shantala- So sorry to hear about DH!! I hope that he is well soon!!!

Hiya girls!!!!

Just home from having the seaweed wrap!!! Feeling good!!!!

Just what i need to chill ou and relax!!!!
I was a mud wrap sort of thing, where the whole body is exfoliated, with a salt srcub, and then body brushed, and then the seaweed wrap was applied like a mud pack all over the body......Yummy!!!
Then wrapped in layers of plastic and whilst that was on a scalp and neck, and face massage was done!!!!

Pure bliss!!!

Other than that, nothing much else going on in my life!!!!

Shantala, I hope everything soon gets better with dh and he's able to support u though this IVF, how are u feeling on the down regging???
Sending u both hugs, for a quick recovery!!!

Vicky, I am doing the jig for ya honey, hope that Af comes before cruise or else that will throw a spanner in the works!!!

Karma, 50hrs a week, work!!! thats crazy!!!!! I thought i did lots of hours but i dont do 50!!!! I am ment to do 35, but actually i do 45!!! if u add the 3/4 hr journey all each way too!!! it's well over 50!!!
Congrats!!! on teh job offer, did u take it up??? less hours?? more money???
How will u juggle a new job and IVF??

HSG??? why?? I dont understand?? I had this done, so i know what it is, but why now just beofre IVF??? any reason why?? have u had it done b4???

I have EC penciled in for 27th March, but start down regging on 6th March.....

Rae, dont worry about ur levels, try to keep clam!!! they are going up, stay strong, it'll all come good!!

thank you all for the warm welcome notes, it is such a heart warming feeling to read all your post's and know that i'm not the only one with such mixed emotions running through my head.

nicolamark - no not our first time its our 4th, but on a different protocol this time, had AF on the 1st Feb, start d/reg 24Feb, with hope of AF 1st march, start stims on 13th march, EC on 26th march. never done a Protocol like this before so any info on it would be more then welcome. glad you enjoyed your wrap, sounds like bliss!!!

Steph- PMA is what we all need, i have loads of it until i start to cycle!!!! hope all works out for you babe, finger's, toe's and everything else crossed for everyone on this site.

Anna-I'm sorry to hear about your elevated FSH...i can understand it must be really frustrating and reading stuff on the net doesn't really help how you feel..i did look it up and i have to say the very first article and many more I read said that although b/w 10-15 is slightly high there is still positive preg results and esp in someone who is younger than 35..which i notice you are

SO i guess keep your chin up, your's at least isn't way high and besides some things are better left to god to worry about...you just keep praying and hopefully everything will be just fine.

Rae- How frustrating being in limbo land for so long! I really feel for you...but like someone else said..at least it's going up...lots of PMA! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Nimms- spooky-my nickname my some is also nimms-jsut thought i'd share. Glad to hear AF has arrived...our dates should be pretty close!

Vicky and Holly..seriously doing the AF jig for you...sorry no good at all the funky dancing graphics..but know that I will be getting up as soon as finish writing i will be dancing for you!!

Hi to everyone else!

As for me...well i started the day feeling really happy...got my bw results and nurse told me everything was normal...why couldn't i leave it at that hey!!! I asked her the numbers..luckily FSH and LH were good: 6.9 and 4.2 respectively, but estradiol is 98...i read that anything above 75 indicates a poor response to ivf.... because my scan result suggests possible cystic ovaries they plan to start me on a lower dose...........but then if i'm going to get a poorer response isn't it better to have a normal dose!!!!!!! ARRRGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! All of this stuff is really doing my head in...i really wish i didn't know...in the morning everything seemed so rosy and suddenly it feels like i'm going to be a poor responder and what's the point in trying at all? sorry i know i'm being really negative-but i'm just really confused! Why can't things just be straight forward!!!

Anyway if anyone has any thoughts would love to hear.

Nerms, I definitely hear you and feel your pain!!! Some days I wish I would leave it up to RE to do what he can to get me pregnant and not know anything about results of this and that. But there are days when I want to know exactly what's going on and how it affects my chances. It is soooo frustrating!!!!

I don't know anything about the estradiol, well first because they never took one and second my FSH results are enough to just dampen my once positive outlook on IVF. I think we're very close in schedules so let me know how you're coming along and how they're dealing with the dosage. Good luck to you and my prayers are with you too..

Shantala, I'm so sorry about DH having gallbladder pains and waiting for surgery while you are in your IVF cycle. That is definitely tough but as long as you're there for each other, I'm sure you guys could pull through all this.

Rae, any news on your HCG levels??? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope everything will be fine...

Nicky, that seaweed wrap sure sounds relaxing. How long did it take and how much do those things cost? I think I deserve one of those too

Vicky, doing an AF jig for you!!! C'mon AF!!!! How long is your cruise and where are you headed??? That sounds so exciting and warm! Our weather here right now is in negatives.

Hey Steph, welcome back to the forum 24/7 now that the Superbowl is over.......about your question, once AF arrives I start BCP's and Lupron (on the 3rd week of BCP's), and after that AF should arrive again and they start me on estrogen patches to prepare my lining for the FET.....

Nicky, thanks for the jig, that was lovely!!. I am going on a cruise through Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and some other islands that I don't remember now......I guess it will be a nice time to relax and try not to think about AF or IVF for at least a week (Naahhhhh)...

Kia, I hope this new protocol is the one for you, you are right about PMA, it is sooo important!!

Nerms, so sorry about your worries on estrogen, but as we were saying yesterday here with the other girls, don't believe everything you read on the internet, if your RE didn't say anything about it or became worried about it, then why would you???.....Thanks for the jig by the way....wonder how was your dance...

Anna thank you about the jig too!!!
