myhb, wooooohooooooo! CONGRATS!!!! that is so great!!! seems like there are BFPs everywhere this week.

suzhan, your right $115 is cheap for peace of mind. I thought it was like $300.

So no wonder the lady called me "very pregnant" today. My 2nd beta today was 1499! pretty high right? that doubled from my 1st beta which was 726. Clinic says that everything looks good, and oh, yay! i get to stop PIOs! :D I am starting pressies though (bleh). Suzhan I remember you had high HCG in the beginning. just wondering what your numbers were. I'm curious if we have multiples. Twins run in both side of our families and my RE did say we had 2 very good looking embies transfered.

myhb-----YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!! We are just all a bunch of good luck charms! I am so happy for you. I can't wait to hear the details!!!!!

Emily- With all of this luck, it can only mean that things will work out with you. Your future baby is just making you go the hard way to get there. That probably means you have a girl in your future.

Mia- My numbers were really high and I am having a singleton. I think the numbers can mean lots of things. Often both embroys implant but one can "vanish". I bet that is what happened to me. All in all, with the anaylizing aside, it is a guess if it is one or two. I guess you will just have to wait until your U/S. That was my most nerve racking U/S. I just was nervous to hear "one or two." I did not know to be thrilled or disappointed. I sat there frozen. My husband still makes fun of me on my reaction.

Myhb ---- YES!!! Yupee! This thread is really on fire! Another Halloween baby! Babies of 2007 are on their way! Congratulations! I wish you only the best and no morning sickness...
Image

Mia --- my numbers were also high, I had three babies at the beginning and one vanished the 7th week. But my betas were lower than yours so it could be twins! I guess it also depends on what day you are testing...I cannot wait till you find out!

Emily --- you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything works out for you at the end!

I guess I am going to do another update then...

Mia - like Sam says, Beta values are so variable for everyone, so you may have twins you may not. The best site out there I found for seeing how you 'stack up' on the betas is www.betabase.info. You can check out how many DPO you are and what the range of beta's is for thousands of real pregnancies (use your ER as your ovulation date). My first two were normal for 8 and 10 dp 3dt (I think like 50 and 150 or something like that, don't recall?) But a week later I was 11,000 - so I was doubling every 30 hours instead of 48, that's why they thought I might be having multiples, but nope, just one strong one! So, who knows!

Good luck!

Mia- My 10dp3dt were high 300 and then on 13dp3dt i was high 1100's i had 3 transferred so i was freaking out but there were only 2 that took. I'm now 14 weeks with twins. My RE's office did say that they use to go by these numbers but that they were not always consistant so best result is the ultrasound. But sounds like you have a great shot at twins to me......One thing i'm finding very interesting is the way different RE offices hnndle things differently and do testing on totally different date levels.
For the one's having to continue treatment keep your heads held high and hopes and spirits up. For the BFP's CONGRATS....Isnt it a most wonderful feeling.
Wishing everyone the best....2007 is a great year!

Mia --- ok, let me add my numbers. It was a triplet pregnancy at the beginning and my 9dp3dt (or 12 dpo) was 102, my 12dp3dt (or 15 dpo) was 443 and my 18dp3dt (or 21 dpo) was 2848. My doubling time started at 33 hours and later went down to 53 hours. Looks lower than Suzhan and Imsb and it was triplets. So who knows, right? If you had a blastocyst transfer, it would count as 5dt, so for example 10dp5dt equals 15 dpo. The betabase website was great, I was able to compare my numbers and add my own later.
I am so happy for you and Myhb, soon everybody on this thread will be pregnant!

Hi everyone,

Big congratulations to Mia and Myhb on your BFP. Good job girls and superb news. I can't believe how good Lola's update looks these days. Slowly and steadily, it seems like we're all making it. :o

By the same token, very sorry to hear Emily's situation. I hope you'll hang on in there and have courage to carry on. So sorry sweetie.

Quick update. Had my 28 week scan and doctor's appointment over the last 2 days. Both babies are measuring right on target as per single babies. They are weighing just under 3 pounds each. And when they measure my belly I am measruing like a 39 week single pregnancy which means - finally I AM HUGE!!!!! :-)

Take Care
Rittie

hi ladies,
I have an US tomorrow. I don't know if we'll be able to see if there is 1 or 2 yet. on Sun my RE told me about 6 days from then we should be able to see how many, but may be able to do an US Fri or Thurs. So Thursday it is. I'm hoping we will be able to see how many. I'm just constantly wondering if there is 2. I checked the betabase and did a little math. i stink at math, but this is my calculation.

my 1st beta was 15DPO or 9dp 6dt. #s were 726.
my 2nd beta was 17DPO or 11dp 6dt. #s were 1499.

17DPO; out of 2326 single PGs, 107 had betas between 1479-2607. about 4.6%
1544 had betas between 270 and 1479, this was the bulk of the 2326 reported.

17DPO; out of 786 multiple PGs, 96 had betas between 1336-2109. about 12.21%
575 had betas of 339-1336, this was the bulk of the 786 PGs reported.

it doesn't tell me too much except that i am on the higher end of the scale on both charts and it only slightly leans more towards multiples. Anyway i'm just happy to have such strong numbers. makes me feel more confident about my PG. I think either it's twins or one super strong giant baby

lmsb,
your numbers look very close to mine. your 16DPO was in the upper 1100s and my 17DPO was in the upper 1400s.

oooo, I'm so excited to do my scan. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

rittie, how does it feel being so huge? I 'm actually looking forward to it. Soon you will have your babies home with you!

Mia ---- I vote for twins!!! Let's see what happens... these strong numbers are great! Bigger than mine!

Rittie ---- your babies are a good size for 28 weeks! I am glad that everything is going well!

I am getting big too! People that have not seen me for some time start congratulating me (or me and my husband when together) just looking at me... I don't even have to say anything. And you should see their faces when we say the word "twins"... Next week on Friday I may find out the genders, I cannot wait! And my 2 good girlfriends started planning my baby shower for May. Everything is so exciting!!!

Hi Ladies - It's so funny. After I heard the words 'you are pregnant' from the nurse, I stopped thinking about anything else. It did sink in that I have to get another blood test tomorrow. I had to call back today to ask some questions that I thought of much later in the evening. My numbers were 75 for hcg and 80 for progesterone. She said that both numbers were good so I was happy to hear that. Although my hcg seems lower than everyone else's as long they double tomorrow, that is good enough for me.

Based upon the pregnancy calculator, (the first thing I checked after hanging up the phone), my EDD is October 17th. I love the fall so this is one more thing to just make it even better.

I am not sure when my first US will be either. I will probably find that out when the nurse calls me with my results.

we saw them, there are 2!! :D And they are developing very quicky. My RE was surprised and happy to see they both already have yolks. He says that they should have heartbeats within the next 48 hours. We are thrilled and estatic. :D :D My official due date is October 13, but since they are twins, will probably be born a little earlier.
