But given that they are following my HCG levels due to my m/c in December, and that the last level last week was 5.2 I really doubt it, although I never lose the hope, I am going tomorrow for a repeat HCG, I wish it was higher than that instead of zero, but I guess it is not up to me to decide.....

Patie, yes, that flavour must be Dulce de Leche, which by the way, it is an argentinean product (very proud of our dulce de leche ), but as Amy was saying, the Karamel Sutra flavour (which is Ben & Jerry's I believe and not Haagen Dazs) that is sooooooooooo good, my mouth is melting right now....mmmmmmmmmmm

Sassy, that was a very good rant, I remember it from before, but you improved it this time, so I don't mind re-reading it at all ..........

Amy, No baby shower for the 3rd. Come on she should have every thing she needs now. This is her third. Anything else she needs extra she and DH can purchase it their damn selves. Opps, sorry. That might have been a nicer response if she wasn’t so insensitive, but hey she deserves it.

One of my closest friends just had a baby shower and I missed it because I was in a wedding. I was so happy. God really had my back on that one because I had no idea how I was going to get out of it when I found out she was pregnant. I still have not purchased a gift for her yet. Haven’t been in the mood to go baby shopping yet. I’ll get her something hopefully before the baby gets here.

Vicky, I’m confused (which seems to be happening more often lately. Could it be the meds? I’m just going to blame it on them anyway ). But anyway, do you want AF or do you not? I tried to go back and read the previous posts but…I’m confused. Please explain to me. I got here a little late.

Patie and Amy, All this talk of ice cream, is making me want some. I haven’t had ice cream in ages and when I do have some it’s usually regular vanilla bean or coffee. I need to expand my horizons and try these flavors that you ladies mentioned. I mean, hey if I can do IVF…I surely can change my ice cream flavor. But Phish food…is that really an ice cream flavor?

Meg, everything but the kitchen sink?!?!? Is that really an ice cream flavor? Who makes that? Poor Dh, maybe he thinks he’s going to gain weight with you and wants to drop a few pounds first?

Sassy, good rant. I was fired up while reading it. I have one also but afraid to post it. I have a friend who was an IVF’r who I speak to on occasion and she may be lurking in here somewhere. If I start to rant, she will know I’m talking about her. I’m thinking we need to come up with some code words. lol

I have been also thinking about a theme song. Can we have theme songs for certain times in our cycle. If so, right now mine would be “Hit me with your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar. I actually said that to DH last night as he was sticking me with not one needle, but two back to back. I am a glutton for punishment. I wanted to hurry up and get it over with. Although last night I came up with the bright idea to put ice on my legs to make them numb before the shot. I have no idea why I didn’t think of this before. I’m such a numbskull at times. Ok, now I am rambling…must be the meds. Hey, I think that’s my new slogan.

Okay, shutting up now.

Bah humbug stupid F***ing baby showers! I feel sorry for you girls in the US.

Thankfully not a big tradition here - you pop round briefly after birth - new mum very frantic and stressed so can't see visitors for long - have a good coo and ahh and present nice gift - usually cute clothing from me and I am ever so practical and give stuff for 3-6mths as I reckon everyone gives new born stuff - then say your good byes and say give us a call when things have settled down and we'll catch up (ie See you when the child has gone off to school in 5 yrs time!!)

Ladies! It's like a frikkin train station in my office. Bloody punters coming and going and stopping me from spending my first couple of work hours on the computer! Damn them all.

I did my trigger injeciton last night and ballsed it up somewhat. smashed the top of the little glass vial thing (I think I read that someone else did that recently), cut my hand and was paranoid about glass being in the solution. Soldiered on and did the injection - will be doing ET on Monday (if the thaw goes ok??? that's the bit that will freak me out the most I reckon)

Mia: hey girl, saw your post on the dec/jan thread. i respect that you are being sensitive on the cycling thread, not wanting to give daily updates on your preg. And i get why you would "cross over" to the other side . BUT... we already have one prego, and room for more! Just wanted to be sure you knew that you are still welcome here (you and your 2 or 3 babies, that is ).

Angie: you know, baby showers used to be fun, but they have just become one big reminder that i can't manage the very basic function of getting preg. All the women sit around laughing and discussing their pregnancies and children. I rarely am invited now, as all my friends have at least 2 children and therefore (note to Amy's friend ) DON'T have showers. So, luckily not something i usually have to deal with anymore. I like your aussie custom much better!!! btw... chocolate satin pie is this rich chocolate mousse filling with a oreo crust and whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles on top. it is divine... and horribly fattening. The chocolate does wonders for the brain biochemicals... i see it as my "post bfn antidepressant"!

Wannababy: you may have already mentioned it, but i am curious what your med protocol is this cycle. Do you mind sharing? oooo, and i second meg... i would be up for a good pm'd rant.. then we can respond and beatch about it here and she would have no way of knowing.

Fee: D*mn boss, ruining all our fun . ohh, trigger last night... fab! BUT the whole glass thing . Sounds like a pain. So, again, you will have to have patience with my ignorance... now i have a whole new set of questions for you . Like... how many frosties do you have, and at what stage were your embryos frozen? And then what day (in embryo development) will your transfer be (i.e., 3day or blast?). So when does the thaw start, and when will you be getting updated on their progress? I know, i know, so many questions, just want to understand how this is all gonna work for you.

Meg: heeheehee... love your "theme" song! and "Everything But the Kitchen Sink"??? Will definitely have to give it a shot!

Sassy - Your rant was fantastic. I love hearing stories like that to know that I am not alone in the world of the insensitive. It is also so great that all of you have had similar encounters and can clearly comprehend my feelings and validate them. I always walk away from those situations wondering if I am being too sensitive, or am in a drug induced place, or just crazy. I find myself not sharing them with the fertiles as they don't really get it. NO ONE - even your poor friend who had to do infertility bloodwork, the horror - understands unless they have done a cycle or two. I also feel bad ranting too much cause at the end of the day I have my own little baby Jesus who miraculously came from a mom with immunology issues and a dad with testicular cancer and LOW motility. Still wonder if he is actually ours or if I became psychotic and stole him from somewhere. But you always have to love the "when you are least expecting it..." or "you just need to relax"... or another favorite... "go on a vacation", blah blah blah! Next time someone lays one of those on us we should just politely respond with a "Bugger Off" or "F@#$ You" Lately I like to respond to those with something like, "I know more about my reproductive system than Jane Goodall knows about Koko and I am SURE it won't happen anytime soon." It makes them a bit uncomfortable and I can only hope it will stop them from ever talking to me again. Where was this going?? Sorry for the rambles.. Did I forget to say your friend was stupid and will have insensitive dumb children?? That too.

I do believe that someone also asked me at what point in my cycle I am... well that is tricky. I am in the EBAY portion. Are any of you familiar with that? That is the point where you are searching your home for random items to sell hoping to make enough to convince your husband that you should try just one more time, even though you promised him the last time was the LAST time and that you would NEVER think EVER AGAIN about spending 10k on ANOTHER SINGLE treatment?? Yes girls, I am back peddling like a Russian circus bear and trying to scrounge up some money for the whole gig. We don't have ANY PART covered by insurance. Well a few random drug things get 50% - but not the expensive ones.

Wannababy - YES Phish food is a flavor from Ben and Jerrys. It is chocolate with chocolate little fish "swimming" in the swirls of caramel and marshmallow. DIVINE. Let sit on counter for 5 minutes before digging in as it will go down even smoother. And yes, I frequently switch my theme songs. Makes it much more fun and then you don't get tired of it so quickly.

Patie and Vicky - You girls sound like ICE CREAM AFFICIONADOs. To me that is just a good time. I could throw out some special favorites all night. I also love myself some Cold Stone - are you ladies familiar with that??

Ladies, the boss has been circling my office like a damn shark but has just left with his hat, I assume he is going outside and can blinking well stay there as a far as I'm concerned....

Now Sass that was a rant par excellence! Gave me goosebumps! I have to agree with Amy that your mate's children will be horrible and stupid and may even end up in jail. That's karma for you.

As far as my FET cycle goes, I have three blasts on ice. In other words frozen at day five I believe. My clinic only puts in one at a time - I believe the government here is not happy about the IVF stats for multiple births and is clamping down. On the day of the transfer, I think they will take one out of the fridge and thaw it, check if OK and then I go in at lunch, if not OK, I think we still have time to thaw another and have transfer later in the day...So I guess I will get a progress report from the embryologist (hopefully the hot one) at some stage during the day. I can see I will be stressed out all day so will take the day off I think (haven't told shark-boss yet). Obviously I will need time to work out what to wear etc...My theme song at this point I think should be "You're so vain..."

Amy that slapper is no way getting a third baby shower! How damn rude, un frikkin believable.

All this talk about pie and icecream has also made me hungry for some good stuff. I've never heard of alll those exotic treats, I think I am living in the third world here...

Mego, could your DH speak to my DH about the diet please? My DH has recently piled on a few kilos, not that I have a problem with little pookie being a bit more cuddly, but he seems to be getting all sensitive about it. Last night he accused me of staring at his gut when he was in his cycling shirt. Some one's got PMS and it aint me...s'all I'm sayin'....OK that's not all I'm saying, I THINK WE HAVE BIGGER PROBLEMS THAN YOUR GUT CHAMP! OK finished with that one...

I loved how you said ur DH is PMSing... funny!!! well mine is ignoring my hints of him loosing those muffin tops.... but he's cute so its ok.... plus lately the dr. told him that his body is too flexible to do heavy sports... in fact any type of sports (although he was a great athlete back in the days)... so i think i'd be seeing more piles.... but as he tells me whenever i gain weight... there will be more of him to Love...

Hello there!!!!

Will do personals later, just a quick rant now.....
Just came back from RE's office, had HCG drawn (don't have the results yet), so I ask the nurse about my period and the cruise thing, she doesn't let me finish and she gives me a scared look and says "ohhh, you won't be able to start next month then...", I go crazy, and ask her why, couldn't I just take the BCP's with me and start them on the cruise.....and she goes "ohh, but the dr wants you to have a saline US done too"....ok, so which day of the cycle does he want me to have it done, and she goes "well, CD10-11"........but I will be back by then........and she says "ohh, I guess you have to ask one of the IVF nurses then, I don't know much about it".................... ...........so she doesn't know much about it, but she does know how to put her scared face and tell me I can't do my cycle!!!!!!.....I had to abstain myself from going to her throat at that moment!!!!!!!! ...........so, now I left a message to the IVF nurses explaining my situation, they normally call back in the afternoon.........so I keep you posted, maybe I will have more rant by then......
