Good morning ladies,

So, I stayed true to my new found addiction and took another digital HPT test and it came up positive so I am thinking it if for real now. I just really can’t wait until Friday and have this confirmed! This thread is on a wonderful roll of BFP I know we are going to keep this going!

Becky- Good luck at your appointment today, I will be thinking of you!

Susette- So glad your trigger went well! I am so excited for you. OH and it is still way to cold here!

Aunty- Thinking of you today, hoping you get a great fertilization rate. Cant wait to here!

Shantala- I hope DH is doing better and I hope you are well too.

Mia- TWINS! I looked a on few websites and I would have to say there is more than one in there! CONGRATS!

Tony- Congrats to you and your DW! That is so wonderful.

OK guys, back to work for me, but I will be checking in all day.

Hugs and baby dust!

Afternoon Ladies,

First off:

Aunty: WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO on the eggie count - 15 thats bloody fantastic, im so happy for you :D :D :D Let us know how many ferts u get, u should have loadsssssssssssss to freeze for the rest of ur wee family :D IM really pleased for you after everything u went thr to get there - 15 wooooo hooooooo, this is ur time hun i just know it.

Ok, so for my appointment this morning, i have a dilemma - dont panic its a good one, just hear me out and can u ladies give me ur input on the subject:
Because of our concerns with discarding embies, they have offered us ivf - or ICSI. With the ivf they will fertalize all eggs we get, then keep 2 to put back 2 days later, but freeze ALL the other embies on day 1 This means that the 2 they leave out will be the ones that we have to use. Sounds ok yes, but what if they dont divide too well like opur last two? The other thing with this system is that say for instance we get 10 eggs, and are fertalized with the sperm and are frozen on day 1 with the sperm, then they might not grow any further as this can sometimes happen with a normal freeze procedure. We have to be carefull with this way, as the last embies we had had only divided into 2cell by day 2.5, they obvisouly cant tell us why they didnt divide any further, but if we do the ICSI they get to pick the best eggs for fertalizing. Say we get 10 eggs, by the time they wash and check (Not the words the DR used, but i forget her terms lol) them, we might only be left with 5 - but at least that 5 would be the better ones, and perfect for fertalizing, what if we do the freeze on day 1 with the IVF and come to freezing the eggs were too mature etc, and end up with nothing!

(I dont think im explaining this too well)

I think i may be edging toward the ICSI more because with that treatment, at least we know we have the best eggs picked out, we may not have as many embies at the end of it - but at least we will get better ones (if u know what i mean).

This treatment is thru the NHS which has a waiting list of about a year :( but we have asked if we go private, can we stay on the NHS list incase it doesnt work,at least we will be further up the list for a free go  no flies on me lol

Ladies, what are ur thoughts on this? Has anyone done ICSI here? What was the outcome on the fert rates?

So thats it - appart from the fact that IM ON CLOUD 9 cos i know whichever choice we make

IM BACK!!!!

I cant wait to get started on this rollercoaster again - the private list has a waiting list of about 3 months, which seems ages away, but really suits me cos i want to lose a bit more weight (as always lol)

Its so good to be home ......

Becky Xxxxx

P.S - Ghost, its really lovely to hear from you :D :D xx Hope ua re well.

OOOOO Becky thats wonderful news im so pleased for you....

ok heres my imput or two penneth worth...LOL
lets pretend your doing my last cycle....
we got 11 mature eggs
Day 1.....10 of those fertilized ...but 1 was fertilized by two sperm so no good
Day 2.....1 of them stopped growing at 2 cell stage (ring a bell) so we have 8 embies
Day 3.....4 of them are 8 cell all the other didnt develope

right so if this was you.....on day 1 your clinic can see oo ok here we take the two most developed and freeze the rest....so lets say the two they keep out are two of the 4 i ended up with you will have frozen 6 ...when you get to defrost of the 6 we know 2 will go on to develope into great embies thats just going by my cycle to give you an idea your younger than me so will proberbly have better rates...and like you say you would be giving all of your embies the best chance

i dont know why they are suggesting ICIS it doesnt make sense to me to go that way, last cycle you only chose to fertilize two eggs and of the two both of them did that is a fantastic fert rate 100% you cant beat that so to me it doesnt look like a fert problem i always have some embies that stop at 2 cells its normal its just really bad luck the two your clinic chose where the same two because you didnt fert more you have no idea if the others would have been fine...at least with you fertilizing them all you will get your good embies

not sure if that was confusing....hugs

love Aunty

Sounds like your appointment offered some very promising solutions (even though I've read your post twice and am STILL get confused half way through  ). I don't think I know enough about the freezing process to give you any advice, as I've never had any to freeze before, but regards to the division of the embies, I am proof that slow ones can result in a pregnancy. I think you have some decisions to make and I am sorry I can't help more, but just wanted you to bear the dividing thing in mind, and to tell you I've been thinking of you today...HUGS!

I know whatever you choose will be right for you and DH.

V. exciting - you'll be back on board the IVF train before you know it - wooo wooo!!!

Thanks Ladies, ur all so lovely :D

Aunty: The reason they offered ICSI was because we only wanted to fertalize 2 eggs (or we did, she offered this before we told her we wanted all options on freezing also) So once she explained that if we were only doing 2 eggs, it would be better to get the bestest eggs for this, and ICSI would help get the best ones. BUT - Ive been looking about on the internet about ICSI, and there is a risk of heridetary (Gawd i cant spell lol) from the male being passed on to his son. Im sure once Brian learns this there is NO WAY he will go for ICSI, it will put him off completley. When u explain it like that Aunty, i see ur point, but im really afraid of getting 'dud' eggs and not getting many good embies, but as u say if we fert all eggs, then there are bound to be some good ones there.

Oh bloody decisions decisions lol - will have to talk all this over with Brian properly later at home, we havent had a chance yet as we both came back to work after the appointment.

Aunty: Well done on all those ferts :D :D :D :D when is ur ET???
