The Dr said that actually a lot of couples do that just to bump up their chances 
The ICSI is sounding more complicated to me too now - i just dont understand why they offered it to us, like u say, its usually forcouples with male factors?? i think it was because she thought we only wanted to fertalize 2 like the last time, so this way they would have the best eggs to choose from, which would make perfect fertalization as they arnet really sure why our embies the last time only divided to 2cell - may have been slow starters yes, but may have been a 'not so good egg' - but the more im thinking about it the more im thinking that if it wasnt such a good egg, then surley it wouldnt have divided at all????? Oh i dunno, its all so complicated lol - but what Aunty said about the IVF and fertalizing ALL the eggs is a good point, but i dont think they wait for 24 hrs before they freeze, they put the sperm with the egg, wait for fert to happen, then freeze, so we wouldnt know weather we have 10 x 2cells or 10 x crap ones - do u understand what i mean?
Also i didnt know that when they defrost an embryo they can tell within 15ins if its a good one or not, cos i asked the question, what if i take all the drugs and when it comes to the day of defrosting 2embies, they dont make it - then i will have to wait untill next cycle, and she said no - we can defrost another 2, because it only takes 15mins for them to defrost, and we can see if it is dividing and growing - then i go to have them put back on day 2 of defrost?????? Is that right or did i miss summit? My head is all over the place and trust me, when Brian gets home from work it will be 20times worse cos he is a 'wot if sinerio' person, he looks at the statictics of everything - and i know my life is going to be hellllllll untill we come to a decision lol -

Becky...i have a question that would ease a lot of whats causing you trouble.
why are they freezing on that day? if you wait till day three at least they can then not only pick the most advanced for transfer but you will have a much clearer picture of how your others are doing...wouldnt that make more sense?...
your right about defrost as far as i knew they liked to wait over night at least to watch defrosts maybe your clinic have a new way of doing things ?? new isnt always bad
actually rereading your post it sounds to me like your clinic are working all of this for you and Brian i think thats very sweet of them because from what i gathered your concern was once your embies where fertilized you (as we all do) consider them babies right?....now you said and maybe you said this to the clinic that you didnt want to leave your embies to perish in the dish ...by this i took it that you meant you dont want to get to day 2 or three and have to choose 2 and leave the others?.
maybe your clinic thought you meant you didnt want them sitting in the dish at all and only wanted them there if they where going to be transfered??? could it be miss comunication

I've read your last couple of posts with your dilemma and to be honest hun, you've completely lost me....god knows what you'll be like once you've spoken to Brian ~ even more confusing ...lol.... can see that the decision can't be easy and I know you will make the right one.... just to say that i'm doing icsi this time round, because i didn't get many fert last time, my eggs were too hard and didn't let any swimmers in...more like "eek you're coming in here mate, name not on the list" - very similiar to me and dh ....lol
This looks like a lucky thread with so many BFPs - congratulations to everyone.

Lisa i am so sorry for you, i hope you find a new clinic. take care of yourself.
Becky, I am with sassy we do ICSI due to male factor, i don't see how it will benefit you and it costs more. Sounds like you've got yourself a good clinic there, i think the NHS clinics are more amenable. I am at Leeds NHS but fee paying at the mo as its a 2 year wait here.
My fresh cycle we got 20 mature eggs, 18 fertilised 2 perished overnight. we did a 2 day transfer and 12 were excellent quality on the day, the other 4 had either stopped dividing or had fragmentation. We transferred the best 2 and froze 10. On our FET cycles we have defrosted 3 each time and one has perished both times 1 each time has been excellent and one each time has lost a cell, down from4 to 3, however anything above 50% is good to use.I know your worried that your letting your babies die, but if the are strong enough my clinic will use them, they go on quality at day2.

Aunty, thanks i'm feeling good a few cramps but nothing too bad, i'm just glad it went well as i have bad fransfers due to a kinked cervix!!!, question how the hell is a baby going to come out there if a catheter won't fit up?lol.

after 8 yrs of trying 2failed ivf 1 m/c and 2 miracles
I have did ISCI the three fresh cycles. My clinic fertilizes all of the eggs. But they only do a 5 day blastocyst transfer. Then they only freeze embryos (blastocysts) that are graded fair to excellent. When I did my FET this cycle. They defrosted them in the morning and watched them for a couple of hours before the transfer. They said it takes about 1 hour for them to completely defrost.
