Mia----How exciting. I am so happy for you!!! Hearing the heartbeat is the best!!!! So many twins on this board. Who would have thought we are a fertile bunch.

I felt the baby move (more like a flutter) at 20 weeks. By 24 weeks (granted I was in bed for a month which they are more like to move when you are laying down) I felt her ALL THE TIME!! In fact, we thought maybe something was wrong as she moved all the time. I was even walking around work yesterday and my baby kicked so hard that someone saw it just walking by me. It has been my favorite part.

Mia - omg, twins! How wonderful and exciting for you! When's your next scan?

Wannababy - I've been wondering about the movement part too - I can't wait to feel that. Sorry to hear about the heartburn...I've also had some dizziness, but my OB said it's normal as you start the second tri because so much starts changing

Emily - how are you doing? When do you have your de-brief meeting with your RE? Please let us know what they say - I hope that they will come up with some good ideas for next steps for you.

I'm really excited for all the positive news and praying that we will have all ladies from our thread with a pregnancy here in the next few months.

Take care,

- suzhan

Congratulations Mia and welcome to the Twins Club!!!! Can't wait to hear more about your progress.

I started feeling flutterings for Twin one at about 17 weeks. Then tapping at around 20 weeks or so. Didn't really feel Twin 2 until about 24 weeks. Now I can feel them both. No giant kicks for me just lots of rolling and little stretches.

Rittie

Thank you ladies! We are very happy to be having twins. It's just so surreal. Reality hit me last night that we'd have to get 2 of almost everything. Well I guess the fancy baby clothes budget is pretty much non exsistant. That's OK I'm sure we'll get plenty of cute hand me downs from their cousins. My step sister is also PG with twins. She's due in August. I so have to tell my dad in person.... the look on his face when he finds out there is going to be a second set of twins in the family born this year is going to be priceless! It's so hard to not tell anyone! Especially after 6 months of hard work and dissapointment. Well DH could not hold it in, everyone he works with knows. He is just too excited about having twins. We are waiting to tell our families until 9-10 weeks. my RE says by then the risk of MC goes down to 1-2%. So we'll feel more confident about giving them the news.

RE said I'd have my next scan to check for heartbeats in about 1 to 1 1/2 wks. even though he estimated they would have HBs by tomorrow. seems so long to wait. Once I see the HBs, I'll feel much more secure. RE says risk of MC goes down to 7-8% once there is a HB. :)

Mia, I am so happy for you! I remember I could not even sleep the first night after we found out about it. And not telling other people was the hardest thing. I told some close friends, but we did not make it public until the 13th week. Everybody is so amazed. I have three girlfriends planning my baby shower already. It will be the first weekend in May. When you see the heartbeats, it is so uncredible. You will finally believe there are two little beings growing inside of you!

Myhb -- how is everything going? When is your next ultrasound? Wishing you a nice strong heartbeat (or heartbeats)!

Ritie, Suzhan, Sam and Wannababy - I have not felt any movements yet, so I should probably start feeling them soon, ha? I cannot wait for that. I cannot imagine what it feels like. I have had some dizziness too. They say it is normal. My nausea is better, but it is still there... especially in the morning...I hope it goes away soon!

Emily --- let us know how you are doing, you are still in my prayers and it will happen for you soon!

Wishing you all a nice weekend! Lola

Champa - ER is just a little more than a week off, right? Have you start stims, then? How goes it? Hope you're feeling well....please keep us posted! It's your turn for the next bfp on the board, I just know it!

Rittie - great news on your 28 wk scan - that's great that they're measuring on target at this phase! What a relief for you....hope the construction is coming right along! I know twins often come a bit early, has your doctor made any comment on when you might expect to deliver?

Lola - I've 'heard' you can start to feel movement in a singleton 1st time pregnancy by week 18-22.....I don't know about twins, though - I'd think it would be earlier since there's less room for the guys/girls to wiggle about in? But, I'd guess you're close, if not just a few weeks away now!

I think I mentioned I'd bought the doppler....well, I finally figured out how to use it, (honestly, it wasn't relaly easy and took a few days of patience and practice.) But....how awesomely cool! I heard my little one's heart beating last night - and then DH got home so I showed him too. We were both just in awe, even though we'd heard it before, I don't think I can hear it too many times....it was pretty consistent at 160...so amazing. Mia/Myhb - as Lola says, hearing the heartbeat(s) for the first time is such a wonderful experience. It just solidifies that there is life inside you, which still amazes me every day.

On a related note, I'm wishing every day I'd start looking pregnant     I look chubby still, but not preggo. My OB says I've gained 5 lbs total and he says that's perfect and none of my clothes fit because my waist is so thick, but I still don't look pregnant, my stomach hasn't 'popped' :? :? :? . I guess I'm just a late bloomer, but I was with another pregnant lady last weekend during a superbowl party and she was pregnant with her first, was 2 weeks behind me, and already looked pretty pregnant. Oh well, guess I'm just gonna have to be patient. 8)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Suzhan - Do you feel more relieved now that you have the doppler at home? I am still so paranoid about miscarrying again. I really don't have morning sickness yet so I don't have any constant reminder that I am indeed pregnant. It's gotten to the point where I keep feeling my breasts to make sure that they are still tender. I must look like such a freak groping my breasts all of the time  .

Lola - My ultrasound is scheduled for the 26th. The doctor wants one more bloodtest which I have scheduled for the 16th. My levels are increasing but they are no where near anyone else's (hcg - 140 and progesterone 122) but the clinic seems happy with how I am progressing so I am not worrying about it.

Mia - How are you doing? I think it so cool that both you and your stepsister are having twins so close together. My husband commented the other day that my butt is getting bigger and that I look thick in the waist. Of anything getting bigger, I wish it were my boobs (because I am only a 34A) but instead it is my butt. I've already had to get new jeans (we are allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays) because I couldn't button any of the ones I have.

Champa - How are you feeling? Only about 1.5 weeks until the retrieval, I am so excited for you.

Have a great evening.

myhb,
I just started having some symptoms. A few times I felt slightly nauseous, either after eating or while looking at food. I'm tired at odd times of the day, usually around 4-5 pm, but if i don't take a nap, usually i get a 2nd wind and then I'm really tired and want to go to bed by 8-8:30pm. that's really early for me. we are night owls here. my boobs are fuller, but not quite bigger. I gained about 12lbs while on both stim cycles, so i can't say i've gained any baby weight yet. I am 2 sizes bigger than before i started IVF. :( Oh well... I am happy to be PG, so it's worth it. :) I'm sure chasing around twins all day will take some of the lbs off. :D

Champa,
I'm so excited for you. It's not much longer now. You're on your way to your BFP and bringing a baby home. :D

Oooo Suzhan,
I think I want dopplar too! how cool. I get those worry moments alot. especially because I have not heard or seen the HBs yet. I keep thinking it's so early, anything could happen at any moment. I worry I could lose 1 twin or both. needless to say I pray like 20 times a day.

Lola,
I had a hard time sleeping when I found out there are 2 also. Everyday since, when I wake up, the first thing I think is, "I have twins! was it a dream? No it's really true!" :D

Suzhan- Yes I started my stims on 10th Feb. Today I am feeling slightly more tired and sleepy. Everything was normal in my base line Ultra Sound. I've my next UltraSound scheduled for 14th. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

MyHb- I am excited but nervous as well. This time the stims, doesn't seem to be a big deal, even if it pains a little. Second time the cycle seems to be much easier as we know the routine. I am trying to keep my calm, and I am taking everything one step at a time, as it comes.

Mia- Thanks dear..

Thanks for all ur wishes. I'll keep u all posted with the progress.

Take care,
Love,

Hello everyone!

Champa --- good luck with everything! Keep us updated. I cannot wait to hear the good news!

Mia --- welcome to the symptoms roller coaster! I have gained a lot too, but friends say they don't really see it. I don't care either, it is all worth it and as you say, chasing around twins will be a good workout for us!

Myhb --- I am happy about your progress! I remember I used to be very paranoid at the beginning, but try to think positive and don't worry about the morning sickness, some women don't have any at all...

Suzhan --- I still have not felt any movements, but I am sure it is coming soon. I cannot wait for my ultrasound, I have one on Thursday and one on Friday. Hopefully they can tell us the genders already. Enjoy the time of not looking pregnant! I already look very pregnant and it is hard to even tie my tennis shoes. Everything seems harder to do. These two babies are really growing!

Girls, I got a very bad flu yesterday, I have been very congested, have a sore throat, have been coughing constantly and throwing up couple times a day. My temps are higher. My eyes are watery and red all the time. I can barely type now. I am taking tylenol and I took some benadryl as my husband said it is ok for me to take when I am pregnant (he is an MD). It did not help much though. I cannot get much sleep and keep waking up because I am so congested. I hope this goes away soon, this flu is really hard on me this time. I read when you are pregnant, you have a weaker immune system, so the flu takes longer than normally and the symptoms can be worse. I am off to bed now.

Please try to take a good care of yourself, especially if you are pregnant!

Busy board....will try to catch up....

Lola - omg, sooo very sorry to hear about your flu, you must be miserable. I'm sure your DH, as an MD, is helping you with all the good things, but try to rest and get loads of fluids. The flu is always just nasty, so I feel for you. Best of luck with your scans this week - hopefully you'll get to find out if you got girls, boys or one of each 8) 8)

Champa - good luck on your scan tomorrow, let us know how things are going. I know what you mean about stims being easier once you've done it before - at least you know what to expect and the shots themselves aren't such a biggie. I'm keeping everything crossed for you!

Mia & hb - the doppler is pretty cool. I haven't tried it again since friday as I'm running out of the gel stuff and need to re-order it (the package came with some, but it wasn't too much). I have to be honest - the reviews on amazon rave about this thing being super simple to use and loads of people talk about how they heard hb's at week 8-10....I got it in week 13 and I really did have a challenge finding anything the first few times I tried it, but I kept trying because others said it really did work so well. I actually think the baby was 'running away' from it sometimes  :D But, I'm still really happy I got it just because it's nice to have it whenever I feel something that worries me - I know I can always go back and hear the little one's heart beat.

Hope everyone is well!

Best,

- suzhan

Mia- Congrats on the twins...!!!
Good luck with all the cyclers I'm sure your time is coming this board is just to hot...............
I'm 15 weeks now...Sometimes i think i feel things but cant determine if it's the babies or just my digestive system. Guess once i really know what it feels like for sure i'll know which it was.
Since i have crossed over i am finally starting to have a little more energy and finally not finding myself passing out on the couch everyday. Although i had my first heartburn today. Still hungry but not as bad as the first trimester. My friends tell me they can now tell i'm pregnant so I'm curious to see my weight next Monday at the appt. I have a thyroid disease as well so my weight fluctuates as my thyroid fluctuates. And with all these hormonal changes it has been doing so. So up until 12 weeks i had only lost a pound and then gained it back. However if my work scales are right i've now gained about 6 pounds or so . Will be curious to confirm my weight at the appt next Monday.
This is so exciting but I'm waiting until i know their sex's to really plan and then of course i have to wait for my spouse to return from his deployment to really get going with nursery plans etc...........

Love hearing everyone else' symptoms and baby plans......It is so exciting! I wish everyone the best.............................

Wow, time flies. I felt like I was so far ahead of you all and now I feel you are at around where I am at. It is great to have the boards as a support. Things are FINALLY good with me. THe past three days I feel great, best I have felt since I got the "your pregnant" call. IT has been a challange since I am rarely sick and very active. Since pregnancy my immune system has been so far down I get EVERYTHING. All worth it, I know. Still difficult though.

Champa- We are all rooting for you. It is coming around fast (maybe you don't think so) but soon you will be a BFP with all of us!!
