hey ladies

guess what - dh is home!! yippeee...he still has to take it easy for a couple of weeks and then go back in 6 weeks to have his gall bladder removed but at least he's well enough to be home with anti-sick tablets and painkillers. so....although i did consider cancelling the ivf we've decided to carry on with it especially now dh is much better. he told me there is no way we were going to cancel it!! lol.

nerms - yes, i'll be doing my lpc this september. haha...so funny that you know about that. cool that your sisters are solicitors too. i did start my bvc (bar vocational course) to become a barrister last september but then decided to change careers due to wanting a family and actually wanting to see my family!!!

anna - blimey it must be hard to juggle your work with all this business!!

vicky - doing my AF jig for you! well actually, i'll do a double one for you!! Image Image

nicky - thanks for your post. think the above answers most of your questions...not sure about the EC and his op though. think the EC works out to be in about 4-5 weeks so hopefully it may be before he has to go back. fingers crossed! how you doing??

holly - woohoo for being able to start ivf soon!! you'll be starting on my birthday!! that has to be a good sign!

nimble - i had my first accu session on wednesday and the needles in my left leg really hurt too!!! its so bizarre how some really hurt when they go in and others dont. she never told me why it hurt though!! but it was so relaxing once the needles were in!!

Hi Girls, I know I'm behind with personals. I promise I will catch up by tomorrow. :-) Here's my update. ( posted on Dec, Jan as well :-)

I went in for my ultrasound reg: all the bleeding. Seems I have Disfunctional Uterine Bleeding. What the he** is that?? Anyway, They put me on a month of prednisone. EEK! Just what I need more hormones. They have made me so depressed I cry over everything. My weight issues is driving me bonkers. I don't know what else to do with it. I still have 7 lbs before I can do my March cycle, and have only lost like 2 in the last month 1/2. UGH! I am trying soooooo hard. I go to the gym everyday, and have been dieting. Yesterday I barely ate anything. They gave me these diet pills to take, which I couldn't take because they made me very irritable and I couldn't sleep all night. So.... I stopped taking them a month or so ago, but yesterday I started them again. I pretty much need to starve to get the last 7 lbs off in the next 3 weeks. I don't know what I'm going to do. Any advice on how I can get it off. I don't want to delay another cycle. I have done everything possible. I've never found it this hard and don't know why that Dam* scale is not moving. I'm so behind on a lot of the posts, but sounds like many are doing fantastic! I'm going back in for another ultrasound this morning to follow up after a week of progesterone. I'm sure she'll ask about my weight. I just don't know what else to say. I wish there was something I could do to try harder, but I can't not eat at all. Don't you die from that???? Hope everyone is well.

Shantala, I'm so happy to hear DH is doing better and that he's home. I know you'll take good care of him. I had gall bladder surgery (removal) a couple years ago. It's actually a very common surgery now, and very easily done laparoscopically (hope I spelled that right :-) Let me tell you.... He will feel a world better after that surgery. Gall Bladder disease is very uncomfortable. He'll be amazed at how much better he'll feel. I'm so much better after mine. Best of luck to him.

AUNTY! I'm still doing the excited dance for you 11 embies! HOORAY!!!!!!

More later. Gotta catch up on the reading. SORRY!

Shantala, great news that DH is back home! You must be really stressed out and tired - but hopefully you can relax a bit now that he's feeling much better and things seem to be progressing in the right direction. I bet the hormones are not helping with the stress - try to hang in there honey!

Holly, congrats for AF!

Vicky, I still have my fingers crossed for you....

Bigwhitehappydog, sorry that things seem so difficult right now. I don't have any answers to your questions so I'll just say my thoughts are with you and I hope things will take a turn for the better.

Nice to read about you ladies on a more personal level! Very interesting careers you all have. I'm a linguist (well, a philologist by training) and currently work as a freelance translator. DH and I live in Dallas, TX because of his work, but we hail from Finland originally. Will definitely go back some day. My clients are back in Finland so I make my own schedules - sometimes I work atrocious weeks and sometimes I have a lot of free time. This winter has been fairly quiet (TG, as the fall was an absolute killer) so I have time to dedicate to my beloved volunteering as well. I teach adult literacy at a volunteer organization and help out with some cultural stuff at the local Chamber of Commerce Sister Cities programme. I'm a big reader - have to read every day or will start feeling strange :) A classical book worm, I guess. But we love going to the movies too and are pretty sporty, try to go skiing as often as possible (no skiing here in Dallas...)

Oops, that was quite a lot of info about me. better leave some room for you guys :D

Oh, and Nicky - not that it really matters but I'm 30, not 32.

Shantala- Soooo happy to hear that DH is doing better and on his way home!! What a relief. I can't believe you are only 21 and already finished with law school. You must be quite the smarty pants!! 8)

Nerms- How very cool that you are a dentist!! So should I be calling you "Dr Nerms"?? And yes, DH and I love our TV!! Do you get any American shows over there? We are addicted to CSI, Law & Order and all those crime dramas. But we also love Lost and Desperate Housewives for some fun TV!! So only 4 more days until you get your schedule….very exciting!

Anna- ooooo now I'm nervous about acu next week! I'm such a big baby!! But I'm glad to hear that after the initial feeling you did feel relax. I am planning also to go once a week until ET. Actually, at the clinic I go to the acu guy comes to the clinic the day of ET for a session. Not sure if it's before or after?? But I thought that was cool. Your job sounds stressful but also very cool. I noticed you were in Ohio. You know I grew up in Michigan and my family bleeds gold and blue…are you a Buckeye fan??? Uh-oh!!! :P Haha, just kidding. DH and I actually went to Butler which is a private school here in Indianapolis so we are somewhat neutral on the big college sports teams. Watching NetFlix in your jammies sounds wonderful!! Seen anything good lately? We just watched the Illusionist and thought it was really good.

Vicky- That AF of yours is quite stubborn!!! I hope that your acu brings her on too! When do you leave for the cruise? Is it this weekend??

Nicky- How fun that you know where the office is! I've never been over to Derby but I'm sure one day I'll have a reason to go. The Indianapolis office is pretty big but I don't think quite as big as the one over there. What's your appt for today? Your ticker says you still have 7 days until your IVF appt?? :? The list looks great by the way. You're the best!! Thanks for keeping that up! :) :)

Holly-Yippeee!!! Glad that AF is here and you are on your way!!!! :D Now you need to send your AF vibes over to Vicky so we can get her started too!

Nimble- I'm with you, I let myself be a couch potato only after I go to the gym first. It's like my reward! And luckily the gym I go to has TVs so I can just pop on the treadmill and watch an episode of my fave show  and before you know it I'm done! I also am a certified Pilates teacher so I do that on the weekends. Although work has been so busy lately that I've taken a little break from teaching and try to go once a week just as a student. It is much more enjoyable when you don't have to talk the whole hour!

Bigwhitehappy- Good luck at your u/s sound appt. Can you talk to the nurse or doctor while you are there and see if they have any suggestions? I certainly don't think anybody would encourage starvation!! :( You need to keep yourself nourished so those embies will have a healthy home to settle into! Keep us posted and keep your chin up!! :)

Rae- Your job sounds so cool!! I also love to read but I'm sure nothing like the stuff you read. I'm more of a mindless beach read kind of girl. So how is the weather in Texas? Better than we have in the Midwest I'm sure!! I'm glad that the ground hog predicted an early spring…bring it on!

Well better wrap up and get some work done. Happy Friday girls!!

Shantala - really glad your DH is home and for the weekend which is fab. Now you are both to take some rest and chill and relax and thats an order !!

BWHD welcome back - seen some of yr posts on the other thread.... please please don't starve yourself and I wish I had some suggestions for you. The only thing I do know that if you're going to the gym and I don't know what you do there, you may find that actually you putting on muscle and this weighs heavier than fat (sorry don't mean to rude) so you may find that you are loosing inches and dress size but yr weight stays the same or can go up - does this make sense? Eventually it will start to even out however it may be worth speaking to some one in the gym or failing speak to the clinic to see what advice they can give.

Steph don't worry about acc - I never feel the actual needle, it just sometimes when they hit a blockage as she calls it can ache or last night, it was just a sharp pain but not really painful, dont let us put you off!!

Pilates sounds great - never done it but always fancied it, they charge for it at our gym - tried yoga too. I love my body pump and did get into running however really got out of it on my last cycle and although do attempt to do it, really havent got back to the standard i was last year....and so the weight now piles on!!

We also get CSI and all those crime drama plus lost and D/housewives - love those - lost has just started again (series 3 ) so have a weekend of catching up.

Sunday going to Norwich to see my brother - his girlfriend had a son just before NY and haven't seen him yet. I also get to see my nephew and little niece who is adorable too.

Yeah, off home and off to the gym (boo)

nims xx

We have just spoken to our Clinic and it's been put to us, that we might have the option when ET comes to transefer 3 embies instead of 2.

However if i came preg with 3 babies, one would be terminated, I can not get my head round this. If i was preg with triplets, i would be estatic, why would i termate something i have longed for???

why???

I am quite sadden by this thought.

Can u guys, help me understand why i would transfer 3 embies, only to then terminate 1 later on???

Hello, new friends,

I would like to join the March buddies if I may.

I started my BCPs today after waiting a long time and after getting my tsh levels to where my RE wants them. I will get "my plan" next week, but all preliminary testing is done and we are looking toward a March ER and ET.

My take on this whole journey is tentative, philosophical, terrified and at times, funny. For example, last night I went to the drive-through pharmacy to get my new BCP's. I was quite happy that we were finally given the green light to begin taking the pills and I was smug in the knowledge that we really haven't told anyone in our small town about what we are up to.

We have a lot of snow where I am, and as I sat in my car outside of the pharmacy, this young guy working there gets on the loud speaker and volunteers " . . . Uhm, I am a little confused here. I have your BIRTH CONTROL PILLS (emphasis his), but I see on my computer that you are on PRENATAL VITAMINS... Could this be right. . .?" and his voice trails off.

There I am, sitting in my car outside of the drive-through pharmacy, with hat, scarf, gloves on, looking up at this kid in the big bright window and I say, "Don't worry, that's part of the plan."

Let's hope it works. For all of you, too.

Hi Nimble. I do believe that I'm gaining muscle and it weighs more than fat. I went down a whole pant size, and everyone says they can tell I've lost a lot. Unfortunately, the Dr. says it's the lbs that matter. For anesthesia, I have to be at a specific BMI. I can't go over a BMI of 30. Has anyone ever heard this? It was 35 until last month. I had lost weight for my OCT cycle because of this. Now it's down to 30. They're killing me. They actually do encourage the starvation.... hee heee. She said she wants me to cut down to $1,000 calories a day from 1,200. Well with burning about 400 at the gym that's not leaving me with much. It's very hard. I guess we'll see how it goes. Other things are in the way now too. My lining is all broken up, and I have two cysts on my right ovary. If you remember I noted that I was having bleeding for weeks. The progesterone stopped the bleeding, but the cysts didn't go away. I'm waiting for a call from Dr. tonight to see if I'm proceeding with March or if their cancelling AGAIN. My cycle was so messed up this last time. They dont' know what happened. We'll see how it goes.

I haven't much time tonight so will reply to your messages 2moz ok.

Today we had information over load, my head is buzzing, there is a risk that IVF may not happen this month, (march) but it's early days yet so wont stress yet!!! I will know dor sure next friday, when we have ivf appt, on teh up side they have found a recipient for my egg share, so thats good. But test results are back end of feb, and Af due 14 feb, due to down reg 6 march so its cutting it fine, so actually could do with AF being later than 14 just by a few days!!! However i have spots, on my face and boobs ache so i guess she's coming very soon huh??? Usually, i get sore boobs 5 days before Af, so 5 days onto today is the 14th......Drat!!!!

So like i sa info over load, the main worry is2 or 3 embies?? what do u girls think about that???
