I was on the for 9 weeks & my babys heartbeat stopped at 9.5 weeks. I don't know if the progestrone had anything to do with it but, I am not taking any chances on my next cycle. My new Dr is going to keep me on it for 12 weeks. It's going to be painful but, if it works it doesn't matter. Good luck!
Mandapan- I scan the day before you. My Re said I will basically be on progesterone for 12 weeks. At my scan though, they might switch me to a weekly shot. Not sure if I'm going to opt for that, I want to find out more details. The daily shots are causing quite a bit of depression for me, but I can hand in there if the weekly shot is going to be stronger. I will let you know on the 13th what my dr. is recommending and then maybe you can ask your dr. the next day.
hang in there. I have noticed if my DH puts the shot in a spot where there is a bump from prior shots, that it doesn't feel as bad. AS WELL AS when they are put on the outer side of the buttocks area. These ones always seem the less painful. I have had to do them all in my left butt cheek, for some reason my right butt cheek flairs up in a burning sensation which lasts hours and it's horrible. Not having that reaction in my left cheek. Believe it or not, I am actually so numb there now, I could take the shots forever!
Hang in there! Compare it to labor, and I think we can get through this!!
10-1/2 weeks for me....I hated the shots, but after a few weeks - and especially after your first scan when you see you little one in there - it was really worth it and almost easy!
Congrats!
I was weaned off right after my PG test, 9dp 6dt. by 11dp 6dt I was totally off PIO and put on suppositories twice a day. I also take 2 prometrium pills 4 times a day. Every clinic is different. I believe my clinic changes my meds based on my hormone levels. Not sure what my P4 levels were, but i did have a very high hcg level early on. My clinic pretty much was testing my blood every 2-3 days. so i had a lot of monitoring. I noticed that some clinics don't do as much monitoring. Seems like the average time for women to be on PIO is 10 wks.
Thanks everyone - I think that the anticipation every night is worse than the actual shot (although this week it's been more painful than in the past.) I'll let you know how the scan goes and what my RE says (and if it's twins- I had two 5 day blasts transfered!)
