Losing weight the last 4 weeks

Post by praying »

Hi all,

I am due in 1 week and am still waiting. No dilation or contractions as of now. I am going in for weekly appmts now and since past 2 weeks i have been losing a pound every week. Before that i had gained half pound in 2 weeks. So in the past 3-4 weeks i have lost close to 2 lbs. My Dr did not seem concerned at all. Infact she said lot of weight gain during these weeks is due to fluid retention and not gaining is good.

Did anyone else experience this?? Otherwise everything else looks good.

Thanks for ur reply

Hi, my baby was about 2 weeks late and for the last four weeks of my pg I lost loads of weight, but in my pregnancy as a whole I weighed less after i'd given birth than when I'd got pg, but my craving during my pg was for bottled water and ice, so instead of eating choccies, i was drinking water.
Dont worry hun, your baby gets everything it needs from you.

Praying,

I went to the doctor last week and had lost close to 2 lbs. The doctor was not worried at all. The week before I had gained around 4 lbs, as my baby had a growth spurt. I think it is very common to either not gain weight or lose weight during the last few weeks of pregnancy. I have 3 more weeks to go and have an ultrasound next Thursday. I can't wait to see the little guy.

Regards,
Tammy
