New member, can I join you guys?

Post by Wantababe »

Hello everyone

I'm generally new to the board and hoping to join the february cyclers thread. Will you have me? This will be my 5th fresh cycle and we also had 1 frozen transfer. Had one succesful cycle which unfortunately ended in a loss.

I'm hoping again that this will bring my DH and I the baby we have long prayed for. We've been married three years now and have been trying even before we got married because we have MF issues.

Well that's it about me. I'm just in my 5th day of stimms, ultrasound tommorrow to know how my eggies are growing. Looking forward to sharing this journey with all you lovely and brave ladies.

Welcome Anna and Anita and Boomer!! :D

Anna - congrats on your ET!!! lots of positive thoughts your coming your way and hang in there on the 2WW!!!

Wannababy
- hope your eggies are growing nicely...you are so positive to be planning how you'll tell everyone about your BFP!! :D We all need to be that positive - they say mind over matter, right!

Steph - thanks for your note. I know how hard it is to be around that (my little sis got pregnant the week we found out our last IVF did not work - although she is sensitive to our situation - she only had to try 2 mnths!). It's especially hard when it's that easy for someone and it seems so impossible for us. You should never think this means you're not MEANT to be a mom!!! We wouldn't be putting so much of ourselves into this if we were not meant to be moms. And, who says the definition of 'meant to be a mom' is based on having a child biologically! Hang in there and vent any time - it's nice to have people who completely understand.
Hope you had fun in Michigan and your time is getting close! I am doing acu as well and find it very helpful in terms of stress relief. Let us know when you give that first shot!

Wiggal - how are your numbers!!! Hope all is going well

99- congrats on you ET! how exciting. The 2WW was exciting for me at first and then very tempting at the end to do the HPT!! I wish you lot of luck and will pray for your success. :D

Angie
- I am do acu as well and found it really helped my lining on the last try. However, my new acupuncturist is talking a lot about herbs. I have not done this before - your lady seems very knowledgeable - is she recommending herbs in conjunction with acu?

Dex - hang in there on the wait! not too much longer. I can't beleive you did a shoot right after and are hosting a BBQ! ha ha! Good energy! Did your clinic require a bed rest period after ET? Every clinic seems to be different and so many different studies as well...just curious.
Good Luck :D

mommyinwaiting - funny story! My DH was all to happy to give the prog shots during the 2WW. ha ha! Hope all is going well! I used to laugh and say that it looks like someone beat me with a teaspoon in my stomach after all the shots!!

Hope I didn't leave anyone out - it's hard to go back so far. Need to visit more often!!!

I finally started AF this week, whew! It's seems to be normal this time, so just waiting for the LH surge. I will be a March retrieval, but still hanging to support my Feb girls!! Goog luck to all!

WLECOME TO ALL THE NEWBIES, THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO BE THESE LADIES ARE SUPER NICE!!!
WISCON HOPE YOU ARE DOING OK LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING YOUR NUMBERS!!!
Ok Ladies I had ER yesterday and we got 4 eggs but one was not mature so down to 3, Lab called this morning and all 3 fertilized!!!
They will call me on Tues and let me know how they look then ET is on Thurs at 8:15 am So wish me luck everyone!! RN said they looked fine and ferted fine with ICSI so here we go.
I was really sore and bloated yesterday, but I feel fine today, I think I may hav found a trick to help, you know those heated patches you can get for your period, well I wore one last night and have one on today and it really helps, it is like having a portable heating pad. Just an idea to relieve ER pain.
I will update you and let you know what they say on day 3.
HERES HOPES AND PRAYERS FOR ALL OF YOU!!!

Just a quick update from me. My EC went ok they collected around 13 eggs I was so elated yesterday with the number of eggs. But things have taken a downturn today. Of the 13 eggs only 4 were mature enough for ICSI and finally we got 3 embies. Tomorrow they will call me and let me know how well the embryos are doing. I am feeling a bit gutted now. Hope they tell atleast two are faring well( as I have a poor egg quality issue). My ET is on tuesday.

I know all it takes is just one embryo but still the negative turn events has made me lose hope. DH is very hopeful. Wish I had his optimism. Dr have advised us to go for donor eggs after this one. So, it feels as if the dream of my own child is slipping away from me. Hope tomorrow brings me some Good news. Will keep you all posted.

Thanks for your support. Please keep praying for me.

REACH-AEJ - I am not doing herbs this time - the reason she didn't recommend them this time is that I was already in the IVF cycle and so it was too late. She has a treatment program if she only has a few weeks to work with you. If I had gone to her early she may have suggested herbs . The treatment this time is basically to prepare the uterus, improve blood flow etc but I think most acupuncture treatments are better the longer you have been doing it.

Minerva - best of luck - hope those embies are growing strong.

Must do some work - Monday morning here!

Thanks for the info Angie!

Minerva~ Hang in there girl, I can just hear the anxiety in your message. You have to be positive now and pray for those little embies to grow! I find that when i'm down and being negative my dh is always so positive as well. I'm glad you have him to keep you focused on the positive. This is great that you have 3!!

mominwaiting ~ congrats on your 3 as well!! Maybe 3 is the lucky number this month! Can't wait to hear your progress on Tuesday and I will be praying for you this week! Thursday is will be your big day! :!:

Hi Ladies

Post by Dexter »

Another morning in Australia - another day of wait over! Woke up with big cramps this morning (day 7 after ER) but could be just wind

AEJ - Yes I have too much energy for my own good!! Unfortunately in my industry I have no say when I work and when I don't!! When a good job comes up you just have to take it. My agent would never understand if I told him "No I can't do that ad today, I'm having my embryo transfer!" He would die of shock :) My specialist did tell me (after ET) that I should resume normal activities, go back to work and even resume having sex as orgasms can promote implantation!! Who do we believe now..ha ha. I even had a wine yesterday. I know I am breaking all the rules. Glad AF showed up for you Nothing worse than wanting it to arrive and it takes it's bloody time. That happened to me on the nasal spray. Not long before you're up and running!! Woo hoo

Minerva - Good luck for ET on Tuesday! I had pain after ER too but it subsided after 48 hrs.

Angie 65 - Same happened to me. Got 15 eggs, 11 ferties and only 3 embies. I was ecstatic when I saw the number on my hand when I came out of the ER. The other ladies that went in came out with between 3 and 7 but in the end we all ended up with the same amount of embies..so it doesn't matter that much to the grand picture. Good luck for Tuesday. Praying you get great ones xx

Over and out from me. Going up the coast for 2 days with DH. It's starting to enter my mind about doing a HPT but I know I should wait until at least Saturday. Anyone got some advice on this? DH doesn't want me to becoz he doesn't want to deal with my blubbering emotions if I get a BFN. AF is due on Sun anyhow but I've been late before and I know the progesterone pessaries can delay her.

7 DAYS TO GO!!

Wishing everyone good luck

Dex xx

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to say ONLY 3 embies. I know that may have sounded a bit wrong. I just meant that out of 15 we thought (naively) that we would at least get 5, being one third, which is about the norm here.

Just didn't want to sound like an unappreciative BI#CH, when I know we so often struggle to just get one viable one.

Ok, I'm obsessing now...Sorry if I offended anyone xx

Hi Minerva, and all others,

This is a great thread, though it looks like I have lots of catching up to do! I'm new to this list, though there is another February transfer list on the IVF message board that I'm on. So there are more of us even than are on this list! Anyone who wants, feel free to pop over there and say hi too!

Minerva, we are doing our transfer on Tuesday too. Hang in there on the three embyo news -- remember, many women have conceived with three embryos. I know how it is when bad news comes in and all of a sudden it all looks hopeless. It's been so hard for me at times to keep perspective on things -- what is the right amount of hopefullness or realism? Agh! As an outsider who hasn't been shot up with all the hormones you have this month (I'm doing an FET), I can say that three embryos is good! We had a lot of embies because I am PCO, but our Dr. didn't want to let us transfer more than three last cycle, so he seemed to think that three was more than enough!

So, we are doing a frozen embryo transfer -- thawing our three days tomorrow and transferring on Day 4 because we will be thawing some day 5 blasts on Tuesday morning. Who knows how they will survive the freezing. Sometimes when I think about having frozen all our little embryos I get so sad... Anyway, I haven't heard of a Day 4 transfer, but apparently that's what we're doing. Just started progesterone shots today.

It is our third transfer. I am calmer than I have been before -- at least today. Largely because I think I've realized that if we can't ahve children, I will survive. I've been refusing to even THINK that we can't have kids since all this began. But the truth is, I'll survive. The hard part now is to keep open to that AND to the posbility that it could still work. I guess my biggest fear now though is that we will get pregnant and miscarry again. That would just crush me. Agh! Anyway, I can only pray and try to stay calm. Pray that I will be strong no matter what the outcome.

Hang in there everyone  I'll try to catch up on the posts and to continue checking in this week.

xo

Hi --
One more thing... someone mentioned taking herbs their accupucturist has given them. I've been given some by my acu too, but I'm wiggy about taking them. How do other people feel?

Hi all,

I'm also new to this, I seem to be at the same stage as you all so would like to join if you'll have me. I've just done my first IVF and had two embryos transferred on Sat 10th so I'm doing the dreaded 2ww now. Feel like I've done it so many times with natural cycles, then chlomid, then IUIs but this one is so much bigger and scarier! I'm somewhat confused by the 2 day, 3 day, 5 day transfer. We had a 2 day and were given no choice - we're on the National Health so there's no discussion and that seems to be the only way they do it. It's great getting it for free (after waiting for 2 years) but nothing's ever discussed with you and all decisions are made for you. Anyway, fingers, toes and everything else crossed for a BFP! Can't believe I've only been waiting for two days. Maybe I'll hit the pub and try and forget all about it! Ha ha ha, if only!

Good luck to everyone.

Hi girls! Happy Monday! So I can't believe that this coming weekend I will giving myself my first IVF shot!! Is it weird that I'm excited about injecting myself for the next 4 weeks?!? I am completely obsessing and overanalyzing (of course) and I looked at the calendar today and realized that in exactly SIX weeks I will be testing to see if I am pregnant. That blew me away!!

On another note, I have my first acu appointment tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. Although we are supposedly getting a major winter storm here in the Midwest so I am worried that that may throw a wrench into my plans. I will be bummed if the place I go closes down for the day or if I can't get there!! Keep your fingers crossed that doesn't happen!!

DH and I thoroughly enjoyed our last IVF-free weekend. I got an early Valentines present…a new car!! Ok, I'm not really that spoiled. Not like I came home and found it on the driveway with a big red bow. I'm actually getting ready to turn in my current car because the lease is up so I needed one but it's more fun to say it's an early Valentines Day gift isn't it?!

Anyway, had to do quite a catch up…the board was busy this weekend!!

Mominwaiting- Great fert report this weekend!! Good luck at your ET!! Sorry I cannot help in regards to your Progesterone question as I'm not at that stage yet and this will be my first go at ivf but I'm sure someone will be on here shortly with lots of tips for you!

Kswann- I have my first acu appt tomorrow so I will let you know if he says anything about herbs. When we spoke on the phone he didn't mention it but maybe I will ask him tomorrow. I think that I would be a little uncomfortable about it as well unless it was recommended by my RE. I figure we are already putting so much into our bodies and I hate to think that anything could have an impact on my medication you know? Good luck on your FET tomorrow. I am praying that the third time is the charm for you. Please stay open and think positively!!! Don't write your little embies off just yet!!!

Dex- You are halfway through the 2ww. Congratulations and hang in there!! I can totally understand why you would want to give in to the evil HPT (LOL) I'm sure I will be so tempted too!! But hopefully you can resist, have a relaxing weekend with DH and then come back to a positive Beta! When is your Beta by the way? Next Monday? Keep us posted!! I'm glad you are obsessive and came back by the way!! We all want to hear how you are doing!

Julie- Welcome! Another 2 week waiter! We have a lot of them on this thread right now!! I'm praying for your BFP in the near future. Lots of baby dust to you!!

Minerva- How are you today?? Any news on your embies? Grow, embies, grow!! I really hope you get some good news today that puts your mind at ease. Please let us know!! I'll be thinking about you!! Chin up!!

AEJ- Thanks for your nice words! You are right that it does help to have people to vent to that can completely understand. I don't know what I'd do without you ladies. So AF started, yay!! Do you know your schedule? I'm sort of a march girl as well since my ER/ET will be in March but I'm still lurking in Feb since I start my shots this month…just a few more days!!!

Wantababe (Anita)- Welcome!! Good luck on your ultrasound today and let us know how it goes. You are such a strong, brave lady to have gone through this 4 times. I am praying really hard for you that 5th is your lucky time and you get a BFP!!!

Boomer- Welcome to you!! The ladies on here are fab!! You will find all the support you could ever want and more. Best of luck to you for your upcoming IUI!

Angie- How great that you did cupping…how every Hollywood of you!! LOL. I'm glad you found it to be relaxing. I may ask about it at my first acu session tomorrow now that you mention it..Oh, and best of luck on your Valentines scan…only two more days!!

99- Congrats on a successful ET and getting 2 embies back! I hope they are snuggling in as I type this! And I would not fret about the grading because I've also seen plenty of ladies with grade 2 get pregnant. I don't think there is a perfect science behind it. One thing I do think helps is PMA so stay optimistic during your 2ww and we will all be sending you baby dust! When is your beta??

Aunty- I've been watching you on there other thread…another stalker! LOL But I hope you are having a restful 2ww and I'm looking forward to reading about your BFP. I have a great feeling this will be your time!!

Carolyn- I was laughing at your post about enjoying the time before you turn into a druggie!! I feel the same way since we are getting ready to start. I didn't have my first shot quite yet…will start Lupron this coming Saturday and can't wait!!! I'm ready to get moving and get on my way to becoming a mommy…PMA!! And I hope your freak out session washed away any bad vibes and you are starting off this cycle with lots of positive thoughts that this will be it for you!!!!

Wannababy- Sorry you had to "shoot up" on your own this weekend! Try not to worry about that one shot though. I'm sure you will be just fine and there will be a BFP in your future!!

Anna- Congrats on your ET and your 2 perfect little beanies coming back home!!! Here's to a POSITIVE 2ww!!!!

Well, suppose I should get back to work. Have a good day ladies!!!

Love
Steph
