hello help 37 never been able to concieve untill lastyear

i have 5 month old tring again no luck fertilitiy test neg. maybe mom tiest neg. but yesterday mucus test neg. in the morning but had egg whites at night just one time now nothing im going crazy i cant type as you can tell.But hop someone can help .My dr put me on metformin and next month is putting me on clomid so why would i have alittle mucus no surge
