Hello ladies

Where is everyone? I hope that lack of posts means all is well and you are all busy shopping and organising for the arrival of your bumps!!

Rileydee, hope bp behaves itself. I read that bp rises in the third trimester.

Lucy, I know what you mean about watching the movement. I can't believe how much our beanie wriggles and kicks. It often takes me by supprise. It's amazing to watch though. Hope the volunteer work is going well.

Dione, good to see your news and that all is going well. I agree that the weeks are flying by.....

Just thought I'd post our list in case we get lost....

Hello all, it's very quiet here at the moment :D

Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing. The weeks seem to be flying by.

We have been busy ordering changing unit, travel system, baby monitor and moses basket. The Nursery is slowly taking shape. It seems so much more real now, if that makes sense to anyone. We have a check up with my GP on Tuesday, so hopefully all will be Ok.

We also had our first antenatal class on Monday. What a laugh, the leader was good fun and it was good to meet other pg ladies. Dione, how was lamaze?

I hope everyone is Ok and not suffering with too many pg symptoms. It will be worth it in the end!

Hugs to all here, look after those bumps!

Anna, lamaze went well. It was a good opportunity for DH to learn about all the trauma my body is going through! It was a real eye opener for him. It has been 10.5 years since I have given birth. You tend to forget the pain, the turmoil but taking this class brought it all back. How on earth am I going to get these boys out of me? Maybe I should have given this more thought....
Dr and scan tomorrow so wish me luck! Still been unable to gain any weight so I will probably get a lecture tomorrow. I'm already overweight so clearly I know how to be fat. Not sure why I can't pack on the pounds but I hope this blessing continues AFTER delivery.
The clock is ticking and it is almost time for our "Spring babies" to start arriving. I'm starting to get nervous about all the changes!
Take care all and have a good week!

Hi Moms, how is everyone? Our quiet little board must mean that you are all doing fine and moving right along. I can't believe we are all pretty much in that final trimester, waiting on our little ones.

Dione, I know what you mean about the concerns of how these guys are going to get out of us! I can't imagine the process, and really can't wait for it to be over and have my daughter here.

We had a 3d/4d ultrasound last Friday. It was really neat. I know that some of you have them more readily, but my doctor doesn't offer them so we had to pay for one. We got pictures and a dvd to keep. Our girl wouldn't cooperate sometimes, but we got a few neat shots. I learned that the babies like to use the placenta as a pillow, and they nuzzle their little faces in it! She kept doing that, and when we would poke at her to get her to move she would throw her little head back like she was having a tantrum. It was really quite cute, but I am sure it won't be as cute when she is screaming about it later!

My volunteer work is going well, as is school. It is a pain some mornings when I don't want to get up, but I am learning lots. How is everyone doing with work? When are you all leaving for your maternity leave, and how long are you taking?

Take care!

Hi Ladies.....happy weekend :D

Just popped in to say hi and see how everyone is doing.

Good question about maternity leave Lucy. I am planning on finishing work on 9th March, at week 36. I will stay on maternity for as long as I can! I am hoping our savings will last until at least christmas. What is everyone else doing? In England we have new maternity leave laws coming into force on 1st April which are supposed to give us a little bit more choice as to when we go back to work....watch this space!

Lucy, the 3d/4d ultrasound sounds great. What a lovely momento to be able to see and keep.

Dione, how did the scan go? Have you managed to gain any weight?

We had our 32 week check up this week. All is well. BP Ok, urine ok, heartbeat fine, my belly measures 32 cm which is good....etc.... Dr slightly worried about my ankles (they have disappeared!) but just told me to keep my feet up as much as possible. I am finding this really hard as I am not very good at sitting around!

How is everyone else? Hope appointments and check ups are all going well.
Take care all
Hugs

Hi girls, Hi Anna,

Hope you are all well. Anna, glad to hear your 32 week scan went well and everything is ok. Its been a long journey but its getting so close now. Sorry to hear about your swollen ankles. Does it get better/worst at particular time of the day/night? I'm not suffering from swollen anything yet but still being bugged by numbness and achie hands, bum and legs while sleeping at night. As soon as I am upright, the discomfort pretty much goes away - but its making sleeping a total pain, not to mention the weight of my bump means I have to get out of bed to turn sides.... arhhhh

The maternity law in the UK will indeed change for babies due after the 1st of April. Instead of 26 weeks paid leave, the pay period has been extended to 39 weeks so at the statutory level one is about £1300 better off. My HR dept had confirmed that this will apply in my case, its not a lot of money but hey, it is better than nothing. I too have told work that I will finish on 9th March when I turn 33 weeks. But over the last 2 weeks, I have developed intense fatigue and I am very tempted to finish earlier, by the end of Feb or mid next week. Two weeks ago at the 28 week scan the babies were weighing almost 3 pounds each and I've become huge in the last two weeks so I reckon they must be about 3.5 lbs each which means I'm carrying about 7 lbs of babies, 2 placentas and two sets of amniotic liquids around - this is heavy enough justification to finish early, don't you think??

Anyway, am wondering which of the spring babies is going to come first??? Hope everyone's well and do post an update when you have time.

Rittie

Rittie- you poor girl! I have been getting pretty uncomfortable, but listening to you makes me feel like I need to buck up.

Anna- I'm there with you on the swollen ankles. Just the last couple of weeks, I've been getting swollen ankle, wrists, and my face too.

I just found out last week that I do not have maternity leave. In the state of Idaho, if you don't have more than 50 employees in a 100 mile radious, you don't qualify. I will get 6 to 8 weeks disablity pay and then I am done. I'm not coming back anyway, but I wanted my maternity leave to keep my insurance for a little longer. Oh well. I am taking two weeks of my vacation beginning my 38th week. So a little time before off, if she stays in there that long.

Hope you are all well!!

Hi eveyone

I have not been on here for a while but thought I would drop by today to see how you are all getting on.

I am now coming upto 25 weeks and can't believe how far gone I am. The baby is very active now and it is lovely to feel the kicks. I am planing to carry on working until 33 weeks. I am then going to take 4 weeks holiday and start maternity leave at 37 weeks.

We don't know what sex the baby is. I do know that the placenta is a bit low so we have got another scan at 36 weeks.

I hope you are all well

Hey, hey everyone. How are we feeling in our final stages?

Riley, I am sorry to hear about the lack of maternity leave. And Angela, please keep us posted about the low placenta and the next scan. I hope everything is ok! Rittie, it sounds like you have an awesome maternity leave coming up! I am sure you will need it after these last weeks. Anna, I hope you are improving at putting your feet up and hope those ankles stay remotely normal.

I went out of town this weekend for a baby shower with old friends where I grew up. I had a wonderful time, but was very tired when I returned. Yesterday I was having a headache that felt like it was BP related, so I check my BP and it was high. I called the midwife and they told me to go to the hospital for some tests. I went in and the BP was still up, but went down naturally when I was laying on my side. The baby was monitored and she is fine, however I was having contractions! They were small, but more frequent than anyone liked (I had 3 in the first 10 min. I was there). They ran several tests and everything turned up OK, and checked my cervix which was high and closed. I was sent home with orders to take it easy and do nothing for 2 days. Here I am, bored as a stick and hoping I don't end up on bedrest because I would be so bored I couldn't stand it.

I hope all of you are hanging in there and feeling great. Keep us posted and I will be in touch soon. Can't wait to see who has their babies first!

Angela, good to hear from you and glad to see all is well. Keep us posted on the placenta.

Lucy, contractions!! Hope you are enjoying doing nothing....soon you will be busy looking after your new arrival! Take care

Here's our list

Hi girls,

It is my last day at work today. Hoorah!!!! I was supposed to finish on 9th March but have decided to bring it forward as I'm now so big and so tired. And at work people have been annoying me with trying to give me new stuff to do which I'm totally not interested in doing. So I've drawn the line and am much relieved since making the decision. I will be 32 weeks in 2 days and thats just 5 weeks to full term for twins so its definitely not long to go now.

Lucy, sorry to hear about your BP scare. Thank goodness it worked out to be nothing. My personal belief is that rest is definitely the best medicine so do try to take it easy. Anyway, is no one else falling asleep as soon as they lay down? I am. But mostly for an hour here and there during the day. I'm struggling to sleep properly at night and my aching bum, legs and hands are not getting better. Did I tell you my hands ache has now been diagnosed as Carpel Tunnel syndrome? Its not too bad but of course it is odd and uncomfortable to have painful hands.

Anna, I agree the antenatal classes are a hoot. I felt sick after 10 mins in the first class when they started passing around some of the equipment. Then there was the birthing video. But I do apprecaite them keeping it factual. Enjoy it, it will be helpful....

Assuming no early arrivals, does anyone have n idea who is expected to pop first???

Lots of love
Rittie

Hi everyone, although I have been following this post I had never written anything. Now that I am home until the birth of the babies, I will actually have time to write.

I had quite an eventful pregnancy so far with OHSS, bleeding in second trimester and a food poisoning a month ago. But I'm hanging in here and trying to take it easy like all of you.

I wanted to post this message because I saw on the message boards that Jo actually gave birth to little Ellie about 2,5 months ago at almost 27 weeks. She has a new post saying that she actually brought home the baby 2 days ago. So, she's the first one of us to give birth! I look forward to seeing who will be second :D

I wish you all a relaxed, healthy and happy day!

HI everyone

I hope that you are all well. We haven't started antinatal classes yet but have been going to aquabump classes. One of the girls there gave birth last week so went to visit the baby today which was wonderful. She seemed so small, although was a nice healthy 7 pounds.

Take care everyone

Hello all, hope everyone having a good weekend.

Rittie, well done on finishing work....keep your feet up and look after yourself. Hope everything going according to plan and your hands aren't too painful. Is the Nursery all ready now?

Demi, hello and welcome. Sorry to see you have had some unpleasant experiences. Hopefully now you are at home you can take it easy.

Angela, good to hear from you. How are things? Aqua bump sounds like fun!

As for me...nothing to report really. We had a m/w appointment last Thursday which went well. Heartbeat fine, bp fine etc... My belly measured 35cm which is also about right. So far so good. Oh and I went to a antenatal class on pain relief.....goodness it's all getting very real. One of the ladies in our antenatal group had her baby 4 weeks early which has really shocked me into doing things and getting more organised! I finish work on Fri 9th March, so only 5 days to go....hurray!

Hugs to all ladies and bumps
Take care

Hello all

The weather has turned mild, the daffodils are in the garden so obviously spring is very near which also means you girls are so very close to holding your little bundle/s.

You have all done so well, I'm so jealous that you've made it this far (in a nice way).

Good luck to you all and I hope you all have a nice smooth birth. Don't forget yes it does hurt but it's not forever and with every contraction it's bringing you closer to seeing your little one (not that you'll think of anything during labour!)

We are doing well. It's great having Ellie home. I can't believe she's been here for so long and still isn't due yet!

Take care, I will be lingering occassionally to see how you're getting on.

Lots of love

Jo
