Good infertility facility in New Jersey US?

Post by snowb »

Does anyone have advise on a good facility in New Jersey? I have gone through 4 cycles IVF (2 fresh, 2 frozen) in the past two years with one NJ facility on NY facility, no luck. No explaination from DOC why IVF is not working.

I'm 36 years old, hubby is older and have problem with sperm count and motility. Tried 1 IUI with donor sperms, still no luck.

so frustrating and the clock is ticking....

Thanks for any advise.

Hi,
I'm going through this in NJ right now. I go to RMA in Morristown, NJ. They have additional offices in Somerset and West Orange too. I've been through 1 IVF with no luck - waiting on results from FET right now. This clinic is supposedely very picky about the quality of embryos that they'll transfer & freeze. I know several people that had success here, but I can't say I have yet (I have endometriosis).

I have another friend who when to Dr. Alexander M. Dlugi in Bedminster, which is part of SIRM (http://www.haveababy.com/city2.asp?site=nj3). She raved about him - has success on the first try. She had been to other doctors - Dlugi was the only one to accurately diagnose her (blocked tubes). Her previous dr. misread her HSG. She's tried to get me to switch.

Thanks for your posting. I have a friend succeeded on her 3rd try with RMA. She went to their NY facility though. I went to IVF new jersey last year, failed one fresh transfer, the 2nd one was canceled. The impression I got from them is that they are not quite good with producing embryos. They were able to receive 9 eggs from me but only 3 fertilized. The 2nd time, I had 3-4 eggs, they didn't retrieve any being afraid they won't be able to make any embryos at all.

I know there are so many factors that go into eggs retreived and overall quality. With RMA, I had 16 retreived, 12 fertilized. They let me go to Day 5 - at that point, only 6 blasts were still good. They transferred 2 - no luck. Froze 4 - transferred 3 last week (the other one didn't survive the thaw).

RMA is crowded and you end up seeing different doctors all the time. I felt like I was always aware of what's going (you get a personal nurse contact), but overall the process isn't very personable. I heard that with Dr. Dlugi, everything is very personalized - you feel like you are really cared for.

Good luck finding a new doctor!!

IVF Clinic in NJ

Post by SS70 »

I live in central NJ, and initially went to RMA/Morristown this time last year, but felt that the team I had been assigned to was incompetent/unresponsive (e.g. after having pain 3 days after an HSG procedure that was only supposed to cause possible pain for a few hours, I left several VMs and e-mails with my "team", and not one of them ever called me back). Based on this experience, I chose not to go through IVF with them. I do currently have a friend who goes there, and her team seems to be much better.

I am currently undergoing an IVF cycle at IRMS/St. Barnabas, and have been very happy with the staff/doctors there. Also, IRMS offers PGD, which I don't believe is offered at RMA.

Good luck with everything!

Wow, that sounds like an awful experience at RMA Morristown. I've been going there for 19 months now and have never had anything like that happen. I always get a call back the same day, usually within a few hours. It does sound like you had a bad team or a very bad nurse contact. Granted, I would prefer to see the same doctor all the time or at least see my own doctor every few monitoring visits - but other than that, they've been helpful in answering questioning and working with my insurance co.

Good luck chosing a new doctor!!
