My first IVF attempt was in Apr 06 - 12 eggs, 6 fertilized, 2 transferred which resulted in a chemical pregnancy only. The second attempt was in June 06 - 6 eggs, 1 fertilized, 1 tranferred - no luck. I had a partial attempt in Oct 06 which cancelled before retrieval because of I surged early. The third IVF attempt was in Jan 07 - 11 eggs, 10 fertilized, 3 transferred. In my last attempt they transferred two 8 cell and 1 10 cell embryo with assisted hatching. Still no luck. If it hasn't worked yet, will it ever?
I did 3 fresh cycles, first one only got 2 fertilized eggs, with only one good quality. 2nd time had much better results, transferred 3 8 cell emby's and 3rd time transferred 3 8 cell and 1 7 cell, all with negative results. I was able to freeze one blast from each of my last 2 cycles and just transferred both of them in and just got my BFP. They say, some do better with frozen cycles, so if that's an option would try it.

I so far did 5 IVF but no luck yet... but i suggest you go to the General Forum and read the thread of Dagny....this should give you hope and its so inspiring!!!!
Thanks for directing me to Dagny... I read it and you were right, it gives us all hope! I feel like the last year has been forever but I suppose in the world of IVF it isn't a long time.
Please don't ever give up hope of your dream. I have also done three IVF's and have not even made it to a chemical pregnancy. The fact you were able to get pregnant is a very positive sign. In IVF terms, three times is not that many, it is just like trying to conceive naturally for three months (it just cost a lot more money!).
Take care and try not to feel downhearted - although easier said than done. I am sure the majority of ladies on the boards have gone over three IVF cycles.

I can't speak for everyone but I didn't feel a thing! Being put under was very relaxing and waking up was easy. I had a ton of eggs (49) so I was a bit sore afterwards because my ovaries were so stretched out but it wasn't bad at all. I'm a bit sensitive to the drugs and it still wasn't bad. Don't worry, you'll be fine! We'll all be praying for you and thinking of you as well!

Thank you so much for your emails. You are right, three attempts isn't considered a lot. I guess I am just anxious! Let's hope that attempt number 4 is my lucky number!
I actually happen to feel that 3 fresh cycles is a lot (at least it feels like it to me). I know that there are women here that have done more... some of whom have gotten preg recently. But in my experience, at least on the cycling threads on this forum, the majority are on their first or second. In 3 fresh, i have yet to have any positive result. To me, it feels like a lot.
But i guess the question was whether or not people get pregnant after 3 failed cycles. Kelly, you asked a question that i have asked myself several times. Is it worth still going forward? If i have failed so miserably with three, is it worth putting my body and my soul through more? I am also on another forum and there are women there on their 4th, 5th and 6th (and beyond!) cycles... a few of the "vets" get preg every month. It does work for women, even if it didn't work in the first three cycles. So even though i feel like i have been through a lot, it helps to know there are others who have continued on and have been successful. Keep the faith... i am pulling for you!
