SKIDOO AND REHKA.......I THINK WE ALL HAD THE TRANSFER ON THE SAME DAY JAN. 26TH......IF MY BLOOD WORK WAS DONE TODAY, HOW DOES THAT COMPARE TO YOU GUYS? (just curious).

Just wanted to say a quick hello to all you ladies and give you an update. I'll do some personals later on.

Just got a call back from the dr; Estrogen levels jumped from 196 on Friday to 1048 today. He wants to see me back tomorrow. Needless to say I'm starting to worry. This is what we saw last round. My levels were increasing too quickly and that made him worry about HSS. The same thing seems to be happening again. So now he wants to see me again tomorrow to check levels again.

Last time levels were to high and he had me skip a night of stimms and then do trigger. But I didn't have that many eggs. This time he said he will probably not have me skip a night of stims but would just keep watching my levels. So....what to do...get HSS or nice mature follies??? Right now we just wait and pray for the best.

Boomer- Welcome too. A friend of mine just had an IUI and was successful so I'm thinking that's a good omen for you. Fingers crossed and wishing you a big fat BFP in this cycle.

Julie- Welcome to the thread. Isn't the 2ww great (joke ) The 1st 2 days go by like a breeze for me and then the obsessing starts, the other days feel soooo looonnnnngggg. But hey what can we do? Just don't start climbing walls.

Pep23- I know how weird it is to be happy to take injections. I used to afraid of them growing up, if only I knew then what I know now

Ok had my ultrasound and there's not too much activity going on in there. I'm PCOS so there were a lot of small follies but nothing significant. So my RE upped my dose again (he had meant to start reducing at this stage because he doesn't want me to hyper stimulate which is my usual result) and I go for another US on thursday. So please can you all send me some grow follie vibes.

Dear Steph, et al,

Wow, that's amazing that you tracked everyone so well. Thank you for all your support for ALL of us. What a treat! I don't seem to have the bandwidth to put together a response like that though I am eagerly reading everyone's news.

Typically RE's don't support chinese herbs -- not that they say they're bad, they just don't have FDA info on them. I'm on the fence about taking them this time around.

I totally understand why you are excited and am thrilled for you. Keep it up. it is exciting at first. I think I lost some of my excitement somewhere after the first failed transfer. It's really hard to get it back up again but it's nice to be reminded about what's possible from you. I'm trying to stay positive! Unfortunatley, we didn't have a great result form our thaw today. We thawed six embryos which were 8/8 day three, grade one when we froze them. They all survived the thaw but not very well. The best two we got were 4/8 and 6/8. We will let them grow overnight then thaw four blastocysts tomorrow. It's hard to be too optimistic after so many BFN's but I'm praying tonight that our thawed pups grow and that tomorrow's defrost is more promising. The heat is on..literally I guess

By the way, ladies out there doing progesterone shots: we got a new kind of progesterone that can be injected with finer needles, you may want to ask about that...

Carolyn—Thanks for all the acupuncture info. This really helps. I plan to go one more time before my EC. Then once before ET and then on the day of ET. After reading your info, I might go again while waiting for the test results. I’m assuming it’s okay to have acupuncture done while waiting for test results. It wont mess with implantation, correct? I have decided to let dh perform the shots form now on. When he does it, there is no bleeding and just a drop of liquid come out. So I feel more comfortable when he does it. He just has to be home between the hours or 8 and 10pm. lol The day until you start stims is getting closer. Has it registered yet? Amazing how we don’t want to see AF until it’s time to start IVF.

Aunty Peebles—Happy belated birthday to you!

99—I was told 24 hours of bed rest. I had ET at 11am on a Monday and I went back to work at noon the Tuesday. I also had two grade two embryos and no grade ones. I had both to grade 2 embryos s transferred and got a BFN. But that doesn’t mean you wont get a BFP. Everyone is different. I was told that the two grade two can still implant. I was also told there are cases when a grade 1 does not implant. So I guess it just depends. But everyone is different. Good Luck to you and your embies. May they can continue to grow and develop. PMA! PMA! PMA!…and lots of relaxation. Don’t stress.

Angie—can you explain what cupping is?

Anita—Welcome!! Hope you enjoy it here! Sounds like we are almost on the same schedule. I have been on stims for about 8 days. Hopefully my EC will be on Thursday or Friday. It depends on how these little guys grow. Did you HSS last time? Did you have any symptoms? My RE is watching me closely because my Estrogen levels were so high. I’m really nervous about this.

Anna—Congrats on your ET! Keep us posted on your progress. Hopefully your 2ww will go buy quick. Feel free to come in and check on those of us that are right behind you. Lol

Ask and you shall receive…right? That was a great pep talk to Steph. It really hit home for me. You are absolutely right. Happy to see AF!! Please stick around for your February sisters, we can use all the support we can get.

Dex---Wow, you go girl! A commercial right after your ET and then a BBQ. That might be the key to a BFP right there. Stay active but not to active. While you are so busy you can’t stress over your 2ww. Just might follow in your foot steps. Don’t take the HPT! I know it is calling your name. Buy me! Buy me! Resist the urge. Enjoy your time with DH and concentrate on other things. You can do it!!

Mominwaiting---WOOOHOOO!!! Great news on the EC and the fertilization!!! Three, that’s great. Grow embies Grow!! Good Luck to you and your little ones! Thanks for the idea about the patch. Those are the greatest. I use those for craps every month. I will definitely pick up some more before my ER. Hopefully, my RE will give me some more percocet like last time. Love that stuff!

Minerva—Stay positive. Yes all you need is one and you may have a very strong one. Don’t give up hope yet. Never lose faith. And you will become a mother one day.

Kswann—Wow, you give me so much inspiration. I love your outlook on it all. We can all take heed to what you are saying. I refuse to take any herbs from the acupuncturist right now. But then again I won’t even take an aspirin right now. I don’t want to mix any meds or mess anything up. I’m trying to do things differently this time around. The acupuncturist didn’t give me any but I wouldn’t take them if he did.

Julie—welcome!! Good Luck to you and wishing you a BFP. I’m not sure how the 2 day transfer works. I have only had a 5 day transfer. Sorry, I couldn’t give more help.

Pep—Welcome to the club! Once you pop you can’t stop or so they say. Some of us consider ourselves IVF-aholics. We miss the shots when we are not taking them. Some might consider us pycho’s. I think we’re just a bunch of women who will do whatever (or almost whatever) it takes to get our babies. Hope that your shots don’t hurt you to much. There are some women who are not bothered by the shots at all. Hope and pray that you are one of them. I too hope Mother Nature does not throw a money wrench in our plans. We are also expecting a major storm from tonight until Wednesday. I have a dr appointment in the morning and then accu in the evening. Dr already said that he would call me in the morning and let me know if they are going to open the office. I really need to get in to see him to make sure my Estrogen levels aren’t too high. My commute is going to be horrible.

WISCONSINGAL—YIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I’m so happy your numbers went up! That’s so great. I am so happy for you! Here’s to 9 wonderful months!

As for me, I'm just praying that my embies continue to grow but that I dont hyper stimulate. I'm still taking my stims but the doctor is watching me very closely. I have to go and see him everyday to get blood taken and follicles measured. This is such an inconvienance. dr is not close. Interfering with work and mother nature possibly causing a huge mess. But I'm trying to stay positive. Everything happens for a reason and everything will work out fine. In the end when I get my BFP this will all be worth it.

I think I've covered everyone. If I missed anyone, I do apologize. You are all in my thoughts in prayers. We are all in this together. Each one of us is at a different stage and possibly going thru a different protocol but we all want the same end result.

Hi everyone,

Well I'm afraid I read all your posts too late and decided to do the HPT test. Did it on the sly behind DH back while we were away :-/

Anyways, it was a BFN, so I'm pretty disappointed. It was one of those 99% accurate early predictor tests that can detect HCG in your urine 7-10 days after conception and up to 7 days before an expected period. Has anyone ever done this and been proven wrong? I know I'm hangin on to a thread now.. I promised myself if I got a -ve that I wouldn't blubber and spoil the rest of our trip away, so I've kept it tog so far. I know I shouldn't have done it, but as AF approaches (Sunday), I would go out of my mind and better to be put out of my misery now. That was my logic anyway...

I'm looking ahead to our next cycle which will be a FET and hoping that next time I can see if we can allow the embies to develop a bit further before transfer. Why is it that some clinics transfer at different times? Like I said, mine was a day 2 (48 hrs later) transfer. 4 cell.

Can someone pls explain the grading system to me? IWhat would mine have been? No-one told me!!!

Also, what day do we consider "conception" in an IVF cycle? Is it different to natural conception?

Sorry to break the news ladies. Stupid me ey. DH is still hangin onto the hope that we may have implanted late and the test is wrong and I don't have the heart to disagree with him, so that's where we're at with it.

you did a day 2 transfer on 7th?.....and you just did a HPT?
7th....day2...4 cell (perfect)
8th....day3...8cell
9th...day4....12-compacting
10th..day5...little early blasts
11th..day6...fully fledged balsts
12th...day 7 emerging
13th implanting......now you little ones could have implanted yeaterday but even if they did it would still be way early for HCG to show up in urine that test was a good way to know HCG is out of your body from trigger shot but not good for seeing your babies yet...they need a couple more days for HCG to be strong enough in P it would be weak on a blood test right now so you cant give up yet...

Hello ladies, how are you all celebrating valentines? Hope you're not letting the cycle blues steal that most precious time with your hubbies? For me it is getting in the way but my DH is determined we have a good time. Why don't we post our plans for the 14th?

Wannababy- Lucky you, almost at the finish line. I know, it's such a bummer to go through this HSS thing. Like you (oh and did you notice we chose the same name, different spelling though ) I always have the threat of HSS hanging above my head but I just get really close monitoring (last time I had to measure all my fluid ins and outs STMI) plus I drink a lot of fresh squeezed juice and water after retrieval. Oh the docs also tell you to eat more protein, can't say I know why. Basically, I don't think I've ever really HSS but I just get really uncomfortable bloating for about 3 days and then it clears and I'm normal again.

Don't be nervous though, your doc seems to be taking good care that you don't HSS and I'll be praying all goes well with you too. For now it's only a threat and most likely it won't become HSS. By the way I love your attitude to the cycle, wish I could be so balanced. Right now I'm going out of my mind and it doesn't help that about 3 of my close neighbours just got pregnant!!!

Ok keep us updated on those numbers.

Dexter- Aunty Pebbles is spot on so please listen to her and don't be sad. Wait a little longer and retest. I can't say I know why some REs do 2 day transfers but I do know that a 2 day embryo is supposed to be 4 cell so at least your little one is growing the way it should.

Please don't give up yet. Take time out from the worry (I know it's hard!!) and celebrate valentines with your sweetheart. Then before you know it, the days would have passed and you can test again. You should get some long awaited good news.

Well, today Indianapolis got hammered with snow so I rolled into work around 10:30 only to find it was a ghost town. They are saying by the time the storm has passed through we will have gotten close to 15 inches.

So...becuase of that DH and I decided this AM that we will make this years Valentines Day a romantic everning in. I think we are going to make dinner together and have some wine and just hang out at home.

We thought with me starting my injectionms this weekend it would be a great time to take one more night and relax before things get crazy... and before I start to turn into a hormonal mess

One bummer about the storm is that my first acu session was supposed to be tonight and it was canceled. Luckily the guy was very nice and understood that I wanted to get in this week so he rescheduled me for Thursday evening...can't wait to be a pin cushion!!

Dex---Keep your hear up. Keep the faith. I agree with everyone else. Wait to test again or just wait to go to the doctor. There are plenty of stories of women who did a HPT and received a BFN, then went to the dr and it was actually a BFP. So think about that. Hopefully that will give you hope. HPT can be incorrect. I sure hope it was in your case. Stay positive and I’ll be praying for you! Enjoy the rest of your time with DH and just relax.

Aunty Pebbles—or anyone else who knows the answer. What day does implantation take place with a 5 day transfer? Does it depend on the grade or cell of the embryo. When would be the correct time to take a HPT when doing a 5 day transfer…not that I’m going to take one or anything. Just wanted to know.

Wantababe---(Love the name by the way! ) I think that’s a great idea to discuss our Valentines Day plans! We need something to take our minds off all this IVF talk. I know I do. I’m sitting here dreading the phone call from the doctor. I am just praying that my Estrogen levels aren’t sky high again. My little eggs are still small. He needs them to keep growing and therefore would like me to take another shot of the STIMS tonight….but, doesn’t want me to hyperstimulate. So it’s a catch 22. Want follicles to grow..BUT, not hyperstimulate. I have the uncomfortable bloating right now. I feel miserable.

This is exactly what happened last time. I hate when bad history repeats itself. But last time he had me skip the stims for one night and then do trigger. I’m praying I get to still do the stims ONE more night. My dr did tell me that he may have me start to weight myself every morning after the HCG. He said if I gain more than 2 pounds a day that can be an indication of HSS.

Okay, enough IVF talk…man, I have it bad. lol

Well dh and I are just going out to have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants for Vday. They have great drinks, although we won’t be able to drink. I told him I need his best swimmers and I don’t want them to have a hangover. I bought him a gift card to get some clothes from one of his favorite stores and an Ipod Tunes gift card. He loves his Ipod that I bought him for Christmas about two years ago. I never see him without it. I also bought him this shirt that I hope he will love. I have no idea what he got for me but he seems to be excited about it. He wanted to give it to me this weekend. He’s like a little kid with a toy. He did say something so sweet to me the other night. He wanted me to ask the dr to give him some vitamin B shots or some kind of shot to take. He said he wanted to experience everything that I was going thru. He said it’s not fair that I am the only one going thru all of this to get OUR baby. He wants to feel it also. I just laughed and told him it was ok, he didn’t have to do that. But I thought that was so sweet. Hope he has that same attitude when the baby gets here.

pep—you were posting when I was so I didn’t see your response. But your Vday plans sound very romantic. Cooking dinner together is so romantic and I would love a glass of wine right now. I also would love a ROMANTIC evening. Guess dh and I will be holding each other all night since we have to rest his swimmers.

Thanks so much for all your support. Woke with a heavy heart this morning and took a while to remember why. Thanks so much Aunty for giving me that little chart - sparks a teeny tiny bit of hope somewhere and you're just an angel for doing that.

I don't think I'll test again now. I'll take all your advice and avoid that if possible! At least I'm expecting BFN and won't be surprised if it comes back as that.

Today I have to send out all my best friend's baby shower invites - Can you believe? Timing huh. The shower's March 25th, so it's going to be tough as I am organizing all the fun & games. Not really fun & games for me, but have to hold my head up and be there for her.

pep23-No honey it's not weird that you are excited about the IVF shot. Even though my last 2 IVf 's were BFN I was really happy during the shots. May be it's because we feel like we are doing some thing that is going to give a higher chance of success.

wannababyIVF- I really pray that your Estrogen levels should'nt rise. Can't they reduce your FSH dosage? Keep us posted on how the levels are.

Anita-Good luck with stimming. Do you take any medication for PCOS?

Let me update you guys. Today we had ET and it went fine. I had 2 embies put in one 7cell and another 5 cell . They both were Grade 2. Last time we had only one emryo to transfer and it was of Grade 3. I have started hoping again. Thank you soooo much for your support. I don't know what I would do without you people. No one understands these feelings like you girls.This forum feels like home. Enjoy Valentines Day. Good Luck to you all.
