Symptoms went away at 5wks.

Post by Stayinghopeful »

Hi everyone- I just found this site and thought it would be helpful to post my question. This is my first IVF/ICSI cycle. We got a + on 1/29/07. I am on progesterone shots right now. Before I got my + I was having TONS of symptoms. First off, I felt pregnant; I was constantly hungry, VERY tired, felt stretching/bloated in my stomach, had a few cramps, bloated. Just felt a little off. I was also very careful with my belly because it just felt tender. I felt 100% pregnant and also got the confirmation with two great HCG levels which doubled within 3 days. I was going along, doing great then all of a sudden I woke up Sunday morning with nothing. ALL symptoms have gone away. I had a pit in my stomach that told me I lost the pregnancy. I have had NO symptoms since then. I have been absolutely stressed. I have my 1st u/s on the 13th.

I called my Dr., of course and they told me that ALL MY SYMPTOMS were due to the Progesterone shots and my body has just gotten used to them. I believed this for about 2 hours then the worry set in again. I just NO LONGER FEEL PREGNANT. I literally feel like I could go out and run 6 miles. No soreness, not hungy, not even tired at all, no more bloating, no more cramping in the uterus. NOTHING!!

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think this is just the progesterone, or is there something wrong?? I was told that if I m/c, it would not discharge while I am on the Progesterone.

My friends have told me not to worry, because they didn't have symptoms in the beginning. That's not what my problem is. I HAD TONS OF SYMPTOMS, NOW THEY ARE ALL GONE!

Thanks you guys in advance for you replies.

Hello, I did IVF in 05 got pg Feb of 06 and now have a beautiful baby boy (Colin) born Oct 20 of 06. I also had tons of stmytoms pretty much the same as you are saying. I also had spotting until about my 12th or 13th week and cried every day thinking he took my baby back. I would have every symtom in the world and they just went away for days at a time. I know exactly what you are going through. Infact I did this through out my whole pg. Your worries wont stop here. You will worry for next 9 months. Easier said than done but just try and relax. Oh congrats.

STAYING HOPEFUL.... I feel I am in EXACTLY the same boat as you...I pretty much had all the symtoms as you except I was never really tired or hungry, but other than that everything the same...I even tested on the 29th with a beta of 211 then again the 31st with 442, my u/s is also the 13th...I feel great, no symtoms really except my pants are very tight...It's driving me crazy...Friends and family tell me I should feel lucky that I have no symptoms, (what what I wouldn't do for a little M/S)...I'm just enjoying it for now...I would think if it was something bad we would have symtoms of that also...Maybe we really are the lucky ones...I'll be thinking of you...Good Luck Ann :D :D :D

I had the same experience in Week 5 and early into week 6 before I got serious m/s, exhaustion, etc etc....Still, I was so nervous, I asked my RE for another beta just to confirm everything was still going in the right direction (I had to wait until week 7 for my first scan.) He agreed (I had to pay $40) and it showed an hcg of 11,000 at 17 or 18 dp3dt - so obviously, I was doubling fine and this was just reassuring.....If you're really worried, this might be an option? Take care, I know these first few weeks are so nerve wracking - hang in there!

That's so funny Suhzan, I did the same thing when I had no symptoms. I was such a pest they told me to come in early and get my beta levels. Sure made me feel better though. I completly lost all symptoms and today literlaly feel nothing but my levels are great. Go figure. Aren't we all a bunch of nervous nellies? :D

OMG THIS THREAD IS A GODSEND!! I have been worrying about this all day and yesterday! I have been feeling very tired and hungry but yesteday (6 wks exactly) didn't feel so hungry or tired and have been worrying about the exact same thing! My U/s is also on Tuesday 13th and have been worrying about what if something's happened over the last day or two. I have just kept telling myself if there's no blood then must be ok. I am so glad I am not the only one who has been worrying about this. Looking forward to catching up with you both Stayinghopeful and Druiett after your strong U/S's on Tuesday. Wishing us all luck!!

You gals are literally AWESOME, thank you so much! I can't tell you the depression I've been feeling. My DR. also said that is due to the progesterone as well, which I do really BAD on Birth Control. I always wondered if it was the estrogen or progesterone. I think I've found my answer. I'm learning this progesterone really screws with me, in more ways than one.

Your responses have helped me tremendously. I think there is something to this 5th week. Sounds like many people have this same issue happen. I hear it happens again in the 10th-13th week. So I will be a little more prepared for that one. When I talked to my Dr. she said that there was no point coming in for another blood test. I would have liked to have done that though. you guys were lucky. Maybe I should have pushed a little more.

I hope ALL mY DARN WORRYING isn't causing problems to my little embryos.. But will try not to worrry about that too much ;). Can't worry all darn day can we?

Started, miraculously feeling little cramps in my uterus today. Feeling like crap, makes me HAPPY :)! What an oxymoron.

Thanks again you guys. I will post on the 13th with the other gals too. Looking forward to all your results.

I feel exactly the same as you all do! I would have thought my symptoms would be super strong by now. I am also sick of people who know I am pg saying "do you have morning sickness yet" and then looking concerned when I say I don't. I think I have bruised my poor boobs because I keep poking them to check if they still hurt! Somedays they are more tender than others. I have to wait until Friday for my scan!!!!!

We're all rather entertaining aren't we? A bunch of women hoping to vomit and sad our boobs aren't sore. What we'd all give to have a nasty bout of morning sickness! Never thought I'd say that!!!

This has so cheered me up! I am sitting here giggling away! I just wrote on another thread about pinching my boobs to check how sore they are - I am only happy if they are sore when I am rolling over in bed trying to get comfy! And I am also sick fed up of that same Q about m/s - the look you get when you say you don't have any ....... and the pause and then the "oh well you know, not everyone gets it" together with concerned look. Arghh!

This thread is so great. I am just 6 weeks and all of a sudden feeling nothing. I haven't had any major symptoms except some pressure in my lower stomach area and this is gone. I did havd a scare on Thursday and Friday with some bleeding in the morning that turned to spotting by the evening. They feel it may be do to the progesterone suppositories. I had no cramping at all with it though. That is the only thing that has kept me sane and the bleeding has pretty much stopped except for few spots. I go in on Monday for my ultrasound. I will only be 6 weeks 2 days. I almost wished it was a couple of days later just to make sure we see the heartbeat.

Lis- that's wonderful. I had my U/S today too and we were able to see one little peewee with a heartbeat. WOW WHAT AN AMAZING THING THAT IS :). We are very very very happy. So NOW I KNOW, if I lose symptoms, I will not worry. They will all come back around again.

I was even worried because I got light spotting yesterday and really tried to stay positive. It is gone today. My RE is so awesome because she herself has gone through IVF. She knows exactly about all the stress and drama and worrying we all go through. She was describing it all to my DH without me even bringing anything up. I think he has a little more sympathy for me now :).

I did see the other thread for Fall babies and I was hoping I could hop over there and join you guys! It would be great to keep in touch.

Thanks for all the support this past week, you gals were awesome. I know there are quite a few U/S coming up for a lot of you. So I'm praying and hoping that everything goes well. Fingers crossed!
