Hi ladies

Hubby and I have been ttc for nearly 9 years now. I've done Clomid on and off in 2002-2003, on and off in 2004 and 2005. We had an IUI cycle cancelled on us in the middle on June 2006, as I wasn't responding to the meds very well and so we're onto our first IVF. Last night I started spotting and now AF is here so it's CD1 for me now. I'm going to the hospital later tomorrow to get my blood tests done.

I'll be on a Long protocol, and we had that all planned out since January 24th at our information session and concent signing. On CD7 is hubby's SA test, CD10 I have to go back in to have swabs done, we'll know when hubby's follow up test is. Then I'll be taking 2 injections of 0.5iu Buserelin auto injections, one in the morning and one in the afternoon on cd21. Man I have to get used to being a pin cushion again . If that all goes to plan I should be having 7-10 days from cd28-30. And then it's onto Menopur Stims hopefully March/April and take things from there.

I just wanted to say a big well done on whatever stage you've got to...we can do it and good luck and to everyone .

Steph (pep23), yes they are going to keep me on dexamethosone longer, the estrogen will be for 10 weeks and I am not going to allow any doubt into my mind this time.

Nicolamark, I found out that was are going to have an US on Feb. 22. I should find our more dates before then.

hey ladies

how is everyone?? thank you everyone for your wellwishes for dh. he is much better now and getting better each day. woohoo!!

a great big welcome to all the newbies to this thread!!!!!!!!! (some of which i very unfortunately meet again at this thread - that sounds awful but you know what i mean!!)

firstly, i have a question - i got my withdrawal bleed yesterday (which apparently indicates the downregging has worked) and had terrible stomach cramps with it...so i called in sick yesterday...well, as the day and night went on yesterday i was in absolute agony with these stomach pains and got a really bad migraine...i took painkillers after painkillers but nothing helped...finally i went to sleep last night about midnight. ive woken up today and my migraine is gone (thank god) and stomach pains are a little bit less....the weird thing is i cant even sit on anything hard like a chair without the whole of my bottom half hurting (sorry if TMI)...has anybody experienced anything like this??? i do get bad AF pains with my usual AFs but nothing like this...phew that i'm better today though but still phoned in sick just to make sure i completely rest today and am better for work tomorrow.

right, sorry about that long question, now on to do some personals...

nicky - woohooooo for AF arriving!! way to go on your 1st and last ( ) IVF!!! and the list is looking fab!!

vicky - haha...i know what you mean about the size of the package!!! anyway, hope you are having a lovely time on your cruise!! and hope AF behaves!!

nerms - did you receive your schedule yesterday?? ooohh, how exciting!

holly - i so understand what you mean with all the cutting out stuff...i used to LOVE and NEED coffee every day so that was the hardest to give up originally. but now i find that cold fizzy drinks are harder to give up...the other night i had a dream that it was really really hot and as usual i wasnt allowed a fizzy drink and all of a sudden there was this big glass of ice cold sparkling sprite in front of me...

nimble - gosh, the weather has been a nightmare here, hasnt it?! glad your visit to your nephews went well!!

coco - ive had really weird dreams too and have also dreamt about breastfeeding...it really is weird isnt it but nice at the same time!

anna - good luck with your sono today!! let us know how you got on!!

pep - OMG you made me laugh!!! you know, thats exactly what i thought when i was having accu. i thought if i can cope with ten needles in my body then i'm sure i can cope with one a day!! let us know how you get on with it...i promise it will be a lot less worse than you expect...when is your app?? my next one is tomorrrow!

rae - glad i'm not the only one obsessing over the size of the needles!! lol...they're ok...i'm definitely with sokru on the "I have never been so thankful to have a little belly fat!" thing.... aaaawwww, it must have been so great to see that little one inside you...and to hear a heartbeat...how amazing!!!

SONYA: I can't believe your clinic made such a mistake, and am suprised they fessed up and are paying. That's great. Welcome back to IVF world.

Shantala: I never that had soreness, but can relate to migraines, and glad yours is much better.


I'm not totally out of the woods for a March cancellation. The weight thing is going pretty well, I dropped another lb. I have 4 to go to meet my IVF weight goal. Not so bad. I think I can do that in 3 weeks. Seems that I have a fibroid that has doubled in size after not moving for years. EEK! It may be pushing down into the uterine cavity, and causing all the bleeding. UGH! I have a sono scheduled for the 19th, and will find out more then. I may have to have surgery to remove it before I can cycle. GOOD GRIEF! It seems my cycles and all were perfect before my Oct IVF cycle, and now my bod is all screwed up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes ok.

I cant believe your have been ttc 9yrs, thats a long time, I am sure ur IVF will be your 1st and last like me!!!
I too have done, clomid and IUI...... we';ll do it together honey!!

Your dates r the same as mine, near enough. I am on day 2 today, having bloods done on day 4...... and down reg starts on 5th March!!!!

Sokru, I think u got confussed, but i havent got BFP yet! Wishful thinking!! I did get egg recipient for half my eggs to share for this cycle, and i did get AF..... anyway, i just want to say dont feel pressured to get preg, just coz dh is only child, you dont need that sort of pressure. Try not to stress too much honey!!!

Coco, Yes, down reg does bring everything down, at the start of a cycle. What do u guys call it???

Pep, Like i said to anna, my US geography is bad!!! Winterstorm?? Are u in the North?? How cold have you had it?? Have you had lots of snow??

Sher, you totally right, when i first started posting here in 04, it was mainly girls frm the UK, but now so many people frm all over the world. do you fertility clinics advertise this site?? there is another site that i see advertised more than this one, so i think more UK girls post on that one, but me, i prefer this site, it's friendlier!! I love everyone here!!! Occassionally i post on the other site if i need a Q answered, but for friend ship i stay here!!!

yes, hunny, i'm still on my schedule...my clinic told me that if i didnt get a withdrawal bleed then it hasnt worked and i would have to stay on the sniffer longer, which would have delayed everything...but luckily i have so thats all good. i still have to go to the downregg check next week just to make sure but as far as i know i start stimms next thursday! anyway, enough about me...how are you?? you must be getting so excited now....hows work??

Nicola, I have 4 more to go before baseline on March 5. I'll know more on the surgery or if I'm proceeding with March by next Monday the 19th. I really don't want to get cancelled again, but want to do what's best for the lining of course. I don't want anything to get in the way of those embies snuggling in.

WOW, group has gotten huge while I was on vacation! This is great! Well we are home now and not enjoying this cold weather. Thankfully we missed the 30 below cold. The vacation was great, lots of relaxing, playing, swimming and racing. Now that I am home I am ready to start round two of IVF. I have my sonogram next Monday and then on to the stims on March 4th. I am BCP's now. I love the idea of learning where everyone lives and what they do. I live in Mora Minnesota which is about 1 1/2 hours north of the the twin cities. I am a Mental Health Practitioner working with mentally ill adults seeking and maintaining employment. I will do personals as I catch up on everyone here and to all of those I have yet to meet...Welcome and my fingers are crossed for you all!
