Hey sweetie! (Shantala)
I just booked our tickets!

It's real!

I'll go write the dates in the calendar! yaaay!
We plan to do our honeymoon in Italy, Tuscany. We'll rent a villa in the country near Florence (as long as a train station is accessible by bus we're fine). Some are not expensive at all (300 Euros for a week) and cooking our own food will make us save money. We'll leave on the 19th of April and arrive in Italy on the 20th in the afternoon. That will be a long trip, but we'll survive. So we'll spend around 4 days in Florence, one in Pisa, one in Sienna and the rest of the trip in the surrounding villages. There are lots of things to visit there, lots of medieval castles and such. We'll go back to Paris on the 28th, land around 1pm and be in Le Mans just in time for my BIL's surprise birthday party. We'll then leave France on May 1st in the evening. By all means, I hope I'll have a nice tummy to show them then!
I'll miss my furry ones! awwww! I always do... but hey, I'll enjoy the trip all the same. For all we know, this may very well be our last trip alone! After that, we'll have the joy of managing our two babies on the plane to see their grandparents! Joy!
As for the passeport, well... I was actually thinking that I would tell you guys the details of my expedition and vent about it here, but I changed my mind at the end of the day. It was a real joke at some point; I drove about 30 minutes through the snowstorm to get to the third office... and just as I arrived... general power failure in the whole building! The security guards were very rude and threw us all outside! Yup, in the snowstorm! There's a rule in that building that you can't have people lingering in the corridors unless they work there. Stupid guards... and all the way to the fourth office, I was thinking, "Geez Louise! And I won't even be able to shag it better once my Christophe gets back home!"

Ah, but my precious little book will be mailed on March 7th, so everything is okay now.
(but I still need to shag a lot of things better! HA!)
About the job, it's really not about the money. It's part of it, but I can still earn enough money to survive with the other jobs. It's just the whole "just-finished-the-Ph.D.-and-life-doesn't-look-the-way-you-thought-it-would" phase that's longer than I would like. During those 17 months I've been waiting so far, it has always been the same refrain... "it might always come next month or in 6 month! I don't know!". My boss is never able to give me a straight answer because he doesn't get any; government funded, as I told you.
And as for the possible pregnancy, well, it's both a blessing and a big irony. If I am pregnant, I might very well get the job... and take a maternity leave a couple of months/weeks later. Not complaining, really. Of course those treasures will be my joy. But I won't lose everything I am when I become a mother and that other part will have to be patient... again.
As for the three days, yes, it's very exciting! Technically, I could do a pregnancy test tomorrow if I wanted. I would be 14 days after ER and I have a HPT hidden somewhere in the cupboard under the sink in the bathroom. But there's no way in the world that I'll succumb to the POAS drive. I don't need a false negative and I prefer to rely on a reliable test; the blood test, and that's Sunday, not before!
Okay sweetie, thanks for replying!

I'll be off booking the Paris-Florence flight now!
Take care darling! Have a great evening!
Sophie
