Hi Ladies...

Becky... you're daughter is beautiful and that dress is outrageous. Sounds like she had a good time. Too bad she's suffering from a hangover, always a price to pay for too much fun!

Christine..were you able to make any headway with getting help for your MIL? How are dh and Abby feeling?

Mom.. good luck with your job search. I admire your tenacity.

I'm still feeling quite crappy and now it appears the antibiotic is doing a job on my stomach. UGH

On a good note.. I spoke to my dr. yesterday and he told me 12 fertilized not 10. I call today to get the info on pgd testing. Very nervous!

hugs to all,
Ange

hi ladies,

Aunty, just saw your embies, they look good, hope your doing ok.

mom20, you jinxed my pc there, could not move page up. Glad interview went ok, re hanging on for best job, you have to do whats right for you, they would be quick enough to do the same o you, I once accepted 3 different jobs as each one i got offered was better than the last, so personally accept the p/t one then if you get the other go back on your word and apologise, don't feel guilty.

Ange, i feel for you hope the tablets work, and hope your feeling better soon.

charlie, waiting anxiousley for your results, good luck.

To everyone else, hang in there and sticky baby dust to you all.

Ange, thanks for asking...my MIL is being admitted to the hospital today for her bed sores....which I realize sounds really bad; but in fact this is the best thing. We were able to get a hospital bed for her but she was driving my FIL crazy and wasn't "adhearing" to the rules we all agreed on.
So at least in the hospital she can get the 24/7 care she wants and we don't have to worry about her hurting herself further. Temporary solution to a long-term problem, but I'll take whatever solution I can for right now.
DH, went to work today...I didn't give him a choice, I said no fever get up and go! However, I did let Abby stay home again today, she's coughing hard and her fever is low-grade but still there. So I am praying that she can go tomorrow, so that I can have the peace and quiet and TV back to myself!

Have a great day ladies!!!! :D

hey ladies

ange - thats fantastic news...did they get it wrong?? well, it makes a nice change for clinics to get it wrong for the positive!! thats great!!

tc - i bet it must be a slight relief for your MIL to go into hospital (oh god, that sounds awful but i dont mean it like that) coz it takes the pressure off you then as you know she's in safe hands...when dh was in hospital, although that was stressful as i had to keep going up there, but at least it was good knowing he's in safe hands and it takes the pressure off...glad your dh is back to work....give abby a kiss better from me!!

ss - brilliant that you've had some blasts to freeze!!! another little brother or sister then!

becky - your daughter looks stunning!!! and that dress is gorgeous! it was definitely worth all that hassle!!

mom - glad the interview went well....keeping my fingers crossed for you! blimey, you do have one job interview after another, dont you?! thats great!

went to accu today, which was nice and relaxing...i paid for 45 minutes but she treated me for over an hour...she's so lovely. she even said she will come in early or stay late depending on when my ET is, to make sure she can do it just before and just after accu....

hi to everyone else!!

Good morning ladies!

Glad to see the board is as active as ever! :) How was your Valentine's Day? Mine was spent driving across town to no less than TWO darn passeport offices (that makes 4 in total since Tuesday) to FINALLY get my passeport! But I'll have it in time for our honeymoon, so after I post this I'll buy our plane tickets and take a final look at the villas that had caught my eye on the internet. I had a nice Valentine's Day afterwards, though... cooked a portobello and sundried tomatoes bruschetta, then cresson soup, then Sassy's salmon on a bed of lentils with maple syrup-flavored red cabbage and a nice better-than-cheesecake (tofu-based) with blueberry topping and black berries.

And this morning, I have the day off because I'll work all day on Saturday. I decided to stay in my pj's and watch Under the Tuscan Sun (rented it yesterday with Ladies in Lavender).

Shantala, tcbalgord and the others who commented and I forget (sorry!), I'm happy my rant was useful! ;)

Macca: I'm not a psychotherapist, as psychotherapists are not part of any professional order/organization; anybody could become a psychotherapist, you don't need a training. However, I'm a Ph.D. in psychologist, or psychologist. (tee hee hee, sorry for the long explanation, but so many people put us in the same basket and now you probably understand why we don't want that!) I'm really glad that you added therapy to your treatment; if you only needed 6 sessions, I bet you had cognitive-behavioral treatment and that's exactly what's empirically proven to be the best therapy for the issue you talked about. I'm glad you overcame it! way to go girl!

Charlie Anxiously waiting for your result! squeeeee!

Okay ladies... looks like it's a short one today! Not doing very good here today. My flu is dragging its feet and my nose is more runny than it was in the last two days... tee hee hee, though I think about what becleo said and it kinda makes me happy to be sick, lol! How deranged is that? My breasts still hurt, more in the evening than in the morning... starting to become uncomfortable with some bras at the end of the day.

Aaaaand yesterday I received bad news. One of my contracts won't be renewed for as long as I anticipated. It particularly s**ks because it was one of the steady sources of income that I have. I'll keep working there till mid-April and then it will be over. They would ask me to work every Saturday, some evenings, and be on call to drive to the patients' house for evaluations and I can't do that, given my other jobs and the fact I share the car with my husband. I am waiting after a full-term position, so I would have had to quit anyway, possibly in May even, but it's always better to quit than being shown the door, even if I know he only does that because of my availability and not the quality of my work. I'll miss working there... I love the lab environment, and I love the people there. *sigh* I've been waiting for that full-time job for 17 months now. I could keep waiting till the fall. It's government-funded, so even though I'm needed right now (and have been for these 17 months), and the post has my name on it, unless they have a budget number, they cannot post the job, and I can't start working. And I have to do that 7 hours a week replacement instead...

Tired of working for food. Would like to work for fun, direction and project-making instead. Do research for a change.

Bleh. Just needed to vent. Sorry about that... ;) Think I'll take another cup of hot soy chocolate milk and watch my second DVD with my big lazy dog lying on my legs, LOL!

Take care ladies!

hi sophie

blimey, you've been across town and back a few times then!! and what with this cold weather and your cold!! you poor thing!! it will all be worth it when you get to your honeymoon soon!! (where are you planning to go again??)

sorry to hear about your job thing....its great if you get this new job in may so you'll only be missing the money for a month but i understand what you're saying about rather leaving then being shown the door. but at the end of the day you would have only been able to work the evening one for about 8 months anyway (even if you werent sharing the car)...after that you'll be too busy getting little one to bed!!

ooohhh, i'm so excited for you...you only have 3 days left!!! do you do your test at home or do you go to the clinic for your test??

Hey sweetie! (Shantala)

I just booked our tickets! :D It's real! :) I'll go write the dates in the calendar! yaaay!

We plan to do our honeymoon in Italy, Tuscany. We'll rent a villa in the country near Florence (as long as a train station is accessible by bus we're fine). Some are not expensive at all (300 Euros for a week) and cooking our own food will make us save money. We'll leave on the 19th of April and arrive in Italy on the 20th in the afternoon. That will be a long trip, but we'll survive. So we'll spend around 4 days in Florence, one in Pisa, one in Sienna and the rest of the trip in the surrounding villages. There are lots of things to visit there, lots of medieval castles and such. We'll go back to Paris on the 28th, land around 1pm and be in Le Mans just in time for my BIL's surprise birthday party. We'll then leave France on May 1st in the evening. By all means, I hope I'll have a nice tummy to show them then! :)

I'll miss my furry ones! awwww! I always do... but hey, I'll enjoy the trip all the same. For all we know, this may very well be our last trip alone! After that, we'll have the joy of managing our two babies on the plane to see their grandparents! Joy! ;)

As for the passeport, well... I was actually thinking that I would tell you guys the details of my expedition and vent about it here, but I changed my mind at the end of the day. It was a real joke at some point; I drove about 30 minutes through the snowstorm to get to the third office... and just as I arrived... general power failure in the whole building! The security guards were very rude and threw us all outside! Yup, in the snowstorm! There's a rule in that building that you can't have people lingering in the corridors unless they work there. Stupid guards... and all the way to the fourth office, I was thinking, "Geez Louise! And I won't even be able to shag it better once my Christophe gets back home!" Ah, but my precious little book will be mailed on March 7th, so everything is okay now.

(but I still need to shag a lot of things better! HA!)

About the job, it's really not about the money. It's part of it, but I can still earn enough money to survive with the other jobs. It's just the whole "just-finished-the-Ph.D.-and-life-doesn't-look-the-way-you-thought-it-would" phase that's longer than I would like. During those 17 months I've been waiting so far, it has always been the same refrain... "it might always come next month or in 6 month! I don't know!". My boss is never able to give me a straight answer because he doesn't get any; government funded, as I told you.

And as for the possible pregnancy, well, it's both a blessing and a big irony. If I am pregnant, I might very well get the job... and take a maternity leave a couple of months/weeks later. Not complaining, really. Of course those treasures will be my joy. But I won't lose everything I am when I become a mother and that other part will have to be patient... again. ;)

As for the three days, yes, it's very exciting! Technically, I could do a pregnancy test tomorrow if I wanted. I would be 14 days after ER and I have a HPT hidden somewhere in the cupboard under the sink in the bathroom. But there's no way in the world that I'll succumb to the POAS drive. I don't need a false negative and I prefer to rely on a reliable test; the blood test, and that's Sunday, not before! :D

Okay sweetie, thanks for replying! :) I'll be off booking the Paris-Florence flight now!

Take care darling! Have a great evening!

Sophie,

I did my test 13 days after ER and got a positive. I also had a cold which I've had each time I was pregnant.

Yes it was CBT but she has degrees in physcology, nutrition, hypnotism. She's very famous where I live as she is also a hypnotherapist and has the best reputation for making people quit smoking, dieting and overcoming all sorts of acute mental illness. She costs a fortune and all my appointments had to be booked months in advance. Her success preceeds her. I couldn't have got through multiple cycles without her to be honest. The one thing I was took away from her appointments is that I am in control of most things I do and what I cannot control I have to put aside otherwise it will dominate my life. I am a control freak and need everything just right all the time which can drain me. It was what was causing my panic attacks. My hubby calls me Monica (from Friends) I look a bit like her too, not as skinny thankfully but I have very dark hair and very blue eyes like her. Wish I was a multi millionaire like her too but hey can't complain, I'm lucky in loads of other ways.

Lisaaaaaaaaaa! you evil woman! Are you trying to tempt me into POAS? It's working! Tempted, but resisting! ;)

Congrats on getting CBT treatment. What's the name of your psychologist? If she's that famous, I might have heard of her! Sorry about the control issues that once made you unhappy, though. But think about this... I tell that to most of my patients... psychopathology is all about normal behavior either in an abnormal intensity (too much or too less) or done in the wrong situations. Once you correct the situation and intensity... all is left is a person' style, or flavor. You can still be a person who needs control and be perfectly healthy and normal. It's just your style. Others will be more on the angry, depressive, sexual, fearful, worrier, flamboyant, dependent and who knows what else side. Needing control has its advantages, as long as, like you said, it doesn't drain you or hurts others around you.

With that, I give you a big hug and... fight the urge to POAS.

Take care sweetie!
