Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!

Well, my V-day didn't start out so well! I had to drive in snow filled roads for 45 mins to get to my 730am saline-infused US apptmt and of course, I have another defect to my end. I noticed a big polyp in my uterus while the tech was doing the scan and I asked her about it. But of course, she said it looks like one but the RE has to read the scan. Well, I haven't heard from the RE yet but I'm pretty sure I'll have to have a hysteroscopy to remove it :x Every test I take has some hurdle for me. I asked the nurses about my FSH and they said the RE still plans to continue with the cycle with that level--well, that was before this polyp showed up.

Anyway, enough about me. I get too depressed thinking about my defects! :?

Shantala, I'm so sorry about your cramps...I have gotten those while on Clomid before and have never been on down reg meds yet so I'm dreading those cramps...they're the pits! Are you feeling better now? Is that breakthough bleed heavier or lighter than normal?

Janice, Congrats on the weight loss! 4 lbs in 3 weeks should be a breeze now after all the hard work you've done in the last few months. I know about how you feel about your body being all screwed up. Mine definitely is! But, I'm just trying to stay positive and be thankful that these are all getting done prior to getting on the cycle. Anyway, good luck on your scan on the 19th!

Nicky, Pittsburgh is about an hour east from me. My in-laws are definitely great but I always seem to stress myself out whenever we visit them...something about being with in-laws, I guess. Anyway, FYI means for your information. We Americans definitely love using short-cuts for words. And you are right, being 6 hrs ahead from us means the board is usually very quiet from your side of the world when I log in at night. Sweet dreams! and good luck with blood work on Friday!

Jill, Welcome back to the arctic! Wow, Minnesota--I thought being in northeast Ohio is bad. How much snow did you guys get? Your vacation sounded divine...and very warm!

PS: the fertility necklace my MIL gave me has a pendant with a picture of a sculpture of a heavyset woman...I don't know the name but I'm wearing it and hoping it works. I also have a St. Gerard (patron saint for mothers) pendant given by a good friend who's currently pregnant that I wear too. Yeah, whatever it takes to get preggers, I do. Too bad my acu got cancelled today because of the snow.

Everyone else, take care and good night!

morning ladies

blimey, looking through the list it looks like we have a lot of medical people on board....or related...how cool!!

nicky - bless you hunny, you sound like me with all your questions!!  i'm exactly like you!! anyway, cant wait wait for you to have your bloods done tomorrow!! as for your questions...all my downregging is sniffing, which is a nasal spray. not sure if its like an inhaler as i've never used one....no head rush or anything like that...it just tastes like metal when it runs down the back of your throat but thats ok as you know its worked then...and i always have some mints or tictacs ready to suck afterwards to take the taste away....as for the sneezing...ive been quite close to sneezing afterwards a couple of times but i have found that if i suck a mint or something straight afterwards it makes the wanting-to-sneeze-sensation go away....sometimes i sneeze about half an hour later but ive been told that as long as its not in the first 20 mins i'm ok....otherwise you just take it again...at the moment i sniff 4x a day....2x in the morning and 2x in the evening, which has to be exactly 12 hours apart so i do 7am and 7pm. the 2x just means one in each nostril....when i start stimms though i carry on sniffing but only 1x in the morning and 1x in the evening....phew, hope that wasnt too long or too much info!!  will you be sniffing then??

jstrand - sounds like you had a great time away and welcome back!! you sound like you're ready to go!!

anna - thanks, i am feeling much better today...sorry to hear you had so much trouble too but its nice for me (if you know what i mean) that you have had similar experiences...they say that the bleeding is meant to be heavier than usual and i think mine was a bit heavier than usual (but i get quite heavy AFs anyway)...how did your sono go?

nimble - how is your head today??

nerms - any news on your schedule yet??

pep - have you had your accu app yet??

well, thats it for me...i have my second accu today...

Hello ladies! Hope you all had a fantastic Valentines Day!!

Shantala- I didn't have my acu on Tuesday because of the weather :x so I go today straight from work and I can't wait!! Nervous but also excited. How are you feeling?

Anna- Sorry to hear about the crappy start to your Valentines day. Have you heard anything yet from your RE regarding the scan and if you can still move forward with your cycle? Please keep us posted…everything crossed for you!

Jill- Welcome back from your vacay! 8) How nice to get away and rejuvenate yourself before you start IVF. So are you buried under snow in Minnesota? Indiana got hit pretty hard but today the driving was much better. I start my stimms on March 2nd so we will be going through all this together!!! :)

Bigwhitehappy- An interior decorator…how cool!! Do you watch that new show on Bravo called Top Design? I love it. It's like Project Runway but with interior designers. I'm a bit of a reality show nut!!

Nicki- So you get your schedule tomorrow? How exciting! Keep up the PMA because you are on your way to a BFP!!! And don't worry, my European geography is probably a lot worse than your US geography!! I'm in the Midwest. It's been pretty cold here with temperatures below freezing and lots of snow. But luckily the sun is shining today!!

Nimble- Hope you and DH had a fun filled Valentines Day!!! And hopefully your not suffering from a head ache today!

Cookholmes- I'm so happy to hear that you are approaching this cycle optimistically!! I really wish you all the best and a big baby belly! I know it's hard to stay positive with all of the craziness IVF brings but I'm glad we can all cheer each other on through this roller coaster of a process!!

Marcia- Welcome!! I love all your snazzy graphics!! :) I hope that after all you and DH have been through over the past nine years IVF will do the trick for you!!

Rae- Of course we still want you here!! It's so nice to have a little reminder than miracles happen every day and that we all need to keep the faith. Congratulations on your u/s…the heartbeat must have been absolutely amazing. Wow how exciting!!!!! :D :D

Sha- I'm in the same boat…prego sil. I try really hard to be happy for her but get the same emotions you mentioned, jealous that she has what DH and I so desperately want. And the worst part is that I feel like she takes it for granted because it came so easily for her. Oh well, you are right…March is going to bring us all our BFPs and then we can all get big fat baby bellies together!!

Coco- I will be your guinea pig and give you all the details!! What is your protocol? I'm starting Lupron Saturday and I can't wait!!! Hahaha. I'm ready to get that first shot over with and out of the way…But I like the idea of Lara Croft Tomb Raider. I will keep that vision in my head as DH is poking me with needles. I am woman, hear me roar!!!

Sher- We will take all the positive vibes you are willing to give so keep 'em coming!! That's great you have a clinic that you have such confidence in. That must make going through this whole process a little easier.

Nerms- Where are you hon? Did you get your plan yet?

Well my first acu is today and I'm super excited!! I was supposed to start on Tuesday but it was canceled due to the weather. Speaking of, I have a question for those of you who have done acu. Do you usually leave a tip? I guess I was looking at this as more of a medical treatment since I'm doing it for fertility reasons and it's not like you would tip a doctor…but I was thinking this morning and it's more like a massage isn't it?? And you tip a masseuse…So I'm at a loss!! Let me know what you think so I don't spend the whole session obsessing over whether or not to slip him an extra $5!!

Only 2 more days until my Lupron starts ladies  ...IVF here I come!!!!!

Love-
Steph

Just a very quick hi,

Welcome Marcia anh Chvonne!

Steph, I was wondering about the same thing before my acupuncture, but in the end it was easy to decide - the approach is, after all, very, very medical, so I treated it more like a visit to my doctor's than a massage appointment. So no, I didn't tip and it felt very natural.

Anna, so sorry to hear about this new development! Any news? I hope there's no need to operate. Have you had a hysteroscopy before, I don't remember? Just in case you haven't, I have, three times (two of them operative) and it really isn't a big deal, so in that sense there's no need to worry at all. But of course it might, just might, mess up your schedule. Oh, I have my fingers crossed for you!

Everyone else, take care!!

evening..... thankfully no sore head for me this morning... I'm in practice of drinking lots of water for when I start tmt, so had quite a bit with the wine last night therefore no hangover ....fab eh!! However a struggle to get out of bed, but then thats no different to most mornings

Nicki - great news on AF arriving, can't wait to see your schedule and what yr doing when. How are you feeling? i'm with you with the US geography too...kinda of know whats around the outside ie coast lines, but suck at whats in the middle - sorry my US friends!!

Shantala, how are you feeling, is the pain getting any better? Just think, this will the last one you have for the next 9mnths - What are drugs are you on for stimming? Did you get yr needles through yet? Hows hubby? Hope yr acu went well today.

Anna - sorry sono didn't go so well - when will you hear from yr RE? Isn't it enough that we have to endure IVF without having to go through all these hurdles that come our way. My fingers, toes, arms and legs are all crossed for you and I'm sending BIG POSTIVE VIBES across the ocean :)
Someone gave a fertitily figure once, he looks like a little funny pixie but what the hell - he is in my bedroom, as you said, will try anything! When we were on holiday, there was a lake called the 'lake of the pg maiden' and it said that if you drank the water it was suspose to help you conceive but judging by the colour it would more likely give you an upset stomach!! How ever I did take a wee sip - which one of us wouldn't!!

Janice - i really hope that you don't have to postpone and will be keeping fingers crossed for the 19th. however think you have the right attitude that you need to be right before you start and absolutely, you want the very best for all those little embies that you will have!!
Interior decorator - oh can you come to my house please, I would love to have someone take a look - somehow I can never get it just right!!

Jill - welcome back from your hols - was florida lovely and sunny?? My parents were out in Fort Myers and came back the other week - where abouts were you? Another medical lady - March is filled with medical experts...know where to come for advice

Steph - we don't really leave tips over here - whoops or is that just me!! Hope the session goes well and you enjoy it - let us know what you think.

Marcia - welcome - what a rollercoaster you have been on.....

Rae - hello lovely - how are things with our mom to be - please don't go anywhere, we want you to stay here with us so that we can follow yr progress

Chvonne
- whats a postrap injection???

thats about it from me, thought I ought to stop there otherwise you lot will be falling asleep!
Hubby gone out for the evening so have the house and TV remote to myself and going to catch up on my ERs...oh what bliss

night xx

Hi mandeeq

how about accu - that might help - not sure about anything else. Have heard green tea is good for you, but don't know in what way!!

I see yr doing a natural cycle - where abouts? I'm really interested in this because of the lack of drugs. Although I'm about to start a 2nd IVF cycle, I have already got an appt at St George's House clinic in Wimbledon in April just in case.... We couldnt decide whether to go for one more IVF or try our luck with natural however it did mean changing clinics. The timing was really bad as ideally it would have been good to get an appt before i started this cycle but they couldn't fit me in. I didn't want to then lose a mnth whilst waiting just in case they came back and said that it wouldn't suit me.

Nims xx

About the lining - acupuncture can definitely help and acupuncturists can also recommend some Chinese herbs.

Green tea is great in "normal life" but should not be drunk in excess while trying to conceive. I'm a big green tea drinker and my acupuncturist told me that I should cut back and only have one cup a day, tops! So green tea is probably not a great idea for that. Now of course it's off limits for me altogether.

(However, DHs should drink as much of it as they can , esp. if problems with SA. It can e.g. improve motility!)[/b]

Hi Steph, I didn't tip my accupuncturist, as they were already charging $500 to have it done at the time of transfer at the clinic. Then I was really ticked when I found out if you go to her office it's only 85 per hour. I paid $500 for 1/2 hour. EEEEEEK! So....no tip for her. :-) I didn't get pregnant anyway. lol :-)
