Hi Girls,

Hope you don't mind me craching in and joining this thread? I'm also on my 2WW, although saying that I only have to wait 9 days from ET until test date - so thats a bit of a lie!!

I also haven't had any symptoms, slight cramping and only sore boobies when squeezed! Feel totally different from my last few cycles so hopefully thats a good sign as they were all BFN's

Anyway, I test the 23rd (if I can hang on that long!!) - keep the PMA girls (and try and stay sane!!)

Dreamin about HPT's :-/

Post by Dexter »

Hey girls,
Think I should become a permanent fixture on this thread - seems to be alot of discussion about sore BBs and the damn HPTs. As strong as I am in so many other ways, I am a fool when it comes to succumbing to the HPT. I'm 9dp 2dt and I've taken 4 tests now!!! All negative of course and it's caused me so much grief but I can't stop..It's like a drug. One of the tests I did yesterday came out with a shadow of a shadow of a line - ie...so faint that it's not really even faint, if that makes sense but that was yesterday 8dpt. Took another this morn and nothin, although I dragged one out of the bin overnight and saw another "shadow"but it had been left o/night!!
I'm simply crazy. I say if you can cope emotionally with a BFN, then do it. Otherwise don't. Give yourself a few more days of hope before the beta. I made a pact with myself that if I was going to do it, I wouldn't blubber..but I've broken that rule too :-( I'm not holding out hope anymore but it's my first IVF and after ttc for 3 years, I am kinda used to it now. Seems like an impossible dream. I even cry when a nappies commercial comes on the TV!
Anyway, never say never. Just maybe my beta on Wed will knock me for a 6 and prove me wrong and those damn HPTs!!
Keep sharing all your symptoms and feelings. I got the sore BBs, temp of 36.8 this morn and highly emotional but that's coz of the HPTs!!
Try keep the faith everyone, even tho I have destroyed mine like a fool.
Lots luv,
Dex (very tired of the progesterone bulletts!) xxxxxxxxx

Hi,

I haven't felt much during the TWW. I had some mild cramping 4-6dp3dt and then nothing. I am starting to lose faith that this was the cycle for me but am trying to keep PMA. Today I actually feel like I am getting the stomach flu and have terrible heartburn. I don't test until next Tues. the 20th and am going crazy!

Hey, more ladies in the 2WW, excellent! I'm going mad and I'm only four days after transfer. Last time, (my BFN), AF came around 7 days after transfer, so I'm dreading getting to that day....also had a sharp pain in uterus area just before AF came...just had one then (about two minutes ago)...I'm officially freaking out!!!

Dex I've been lurking and seen some of your other posts. I agree about the HPT, don't do it if you can't take a neg, I waver one when to do one, I know I will do one just before official test date if not before in order to cushion the blow if it is negative, really don't want to cry on the phone when speaking to the nurse.

Em good luck with your test, I hate this part too!

Hi to all the others just got a call to go and drive somewhere to must rush off.

LOL its like a rehab clinic - i too am a hpt addict - you stare at the tests until your eyes go funny trying to convince yourself that there is something there!

Well i had some spotting yesterday (test day is 19th) and then nothing - no more cramping or anything really strange I h ave been really irritable though and last night the covers in bed were hurting my skin (if that makes sense?!?)

BB's are quite swollen but i think that is from the drugs, however did feel sick whilst shopping yesterday! (again probably the drugs!)

My dh said something to me last night that sort of gave me some pma - he got into bed and i was whining abut being uncomfotable, itching etc and he said you know what is wrong with you do you and i said what and he said your pregnant i can sense it! now the one and only other time he has said that to me is when i had an ectopic pregnancy so hopefully fingers crossed he is right!

LOL if he is right i will hire him out to predict pregnancies - i am sure he will be cheaper than all these wasted hpts lol

Hello

Can I please just bang all your heads together? lol Aunty you should know better!

Your ovaries will still be the size of gratefruits and will remain so for a good few weeks yet - hence the cramping and when you all get your BFP the cramping with probably continue throughout your pregnancies because of your uterus expanding to accommodate your growing babies.

Your sore boobs will be down to the progestone, whether pessaries or injections.

The majority of people only get pregnancy symptoms at week 6 when the HCG is high. Some people don't even get any symptoms (other than a growing belly I never have).

As for the HPT yes I too was an adict. I did 16 in all starting from 7dp3dt. Obviously when I started they were negative and even though I knew it was too early I still got upset - stress is something we should try and avoid during pregnancy! I got my first faint line at 10dp3dt. But, as Anuty and quite rightly said, there have been quite a few people who got a BFN on their test day, still went for blood which came out positive. If I remember correctly one of them was Anna who is due to give birth in a couple of months!

Sorry I've rambled on too much!!

I really wish you all a very strong BFP, a very healthy pregnancy and a really lovely big belly!

Stop stressing and analysing and enjoy. I used to talk to my embryos every day and stroke my belly, used to help - or I was just going insane!

Take care

Jo
