Hi everyone,

HAPPY VALENTINE'S Day to all!! (yep, still 14th here in UK - AGH!).

Hi Kery, welcome! what a wonderful news to come from you too! I am ecstatic for you and your hubby. Hang in there mate, IT WILL HAPPEN! and yes keep us posted on your progress ok?

Emma, weather in Brissyvegas ( is this correct??) any cooler now??? I am really, truly envious of you. My hubby and I are planning an escape from UK for some serious dose of sunshine. A place in the sun..... I am thinking Spain :!: .

Cheeky, have they decided when you will have your transfer? 16th or 17th? I will be thinking of you with everything crossed. Good luck!

Jomae, how's Jacob? my nieces went home 2 days ago. According to my BIL they are doing everything right, putting on weight and pooping like troopers?! hee hee. I like your names btw, Katie and Grace. Maybe you will get twin girls like my sis, so if you have two girls you can call them Katie and Grace :)?

Oh, just in case you haven't heard, Heather (hlloyd, from Qld)'s baby boy Griffin Martin Lloyd entered the world at 11.48pm on 6th Feb! So another success from our little group - yipieeee!!!!!

Cheers, Tiger x

yes hope all u lovely ladies got pampered on valentines day
and oh shit I've been testing since sunday for signs of ovulation and there was a really really really faint line on wednesday i thought it was so faint that i'd wait till today. Again really faint so i rang the clinic and had a blood test. and another test tomorrow morning. The nurse said i should have come in yesterday when i got the faint line. Far out I need microscopic glasses to see the line but the nurse said it doesn't matter how faint it is call us. She's hoping i didn't miss ovulation and that it is a late ovulation for me I so hope so too.
Hey jomae i have thought of a couple of names for a girl. I so like the name nikita. But it always reminds me of the song by elton john. :D
Oh yeah also i asked how many eggs would i need to thaw at one shot as i have 7 eggs. Because im putting two back they said it is ideal to thaw 4. And then i asked what happens if none make it or just 1 makes it to blastocycst. the nurse said i'd have to have the one egg put back. and if none make it wait for next cycle. I'm tossing up between thawing all seven or leave it at four. We'll the upside is if all seven make it to blast then they can refreeze them like WOW thats amazing considering we can't do that to meat haha :D I have to think real fast though
hey tiger im not sure now when and or if i get to transfer will know more by tomorrow arvo fingers and toes crossed
May the force be with you all cheeky xxx

Hi guys

Just wondering how much time you took off work while during ivf? My job can be physical at times and I'm not sure how much time off I will need.

hi all
we'll I had another bloodtest this morning and hooray there was a surge so my egg transfer will be next thursday yippee gosh fet is so much easier on the body then a full blown stim cycle wow i feel more relaxed this time around. :D
Hey kery during the 2ww period I worked through as my job is not too strenuous some people take the whole 2 weeks off. Also through a stimulated cycle you have to take a couple of hours off for taking blood, scans. I worked all the way through worked some of my bloods around work. But the main ones when coming close to the end you have to take them in the morning. It's really a matter of can u afford to take time off and if your jobs too strenuous that 2ww period is the main time some people have off. and normally the egg transfer it really depends on the person
have a good one all cheeky

Hi Kery
I think it all depends as to how much time you have off
If you have a physically demanding job I myself would try to have the two week wait off for fear of over doing it and you have to consider that if you are unfortunate enough to get Ovarian hyper stimulation you may not have a choice to work or not I could barely walk in my two week wait due to OHSS. But on the otherhand women get pregnant everyday and continue with their daily lives as normal I guess we are more cautious with good reason of course.
Hey cheeky
does your clinic make you do home ovulation tests man that would be so much easier we have to drive in every day or so to be tested with a blood test which is a bit of a bugger when we live so far away. MMMM what to do about your embies 4 or 7 I don't know theres only a 5% chance they won't thaw I suppose theres an extra charge for you to thaw all 7 and keep them as blasto's if they don't get used or doesn't it make a difference. Have you asked if they can be refrozen It might be a big no no like meat in the freezer i guess thats a question you need to ask before you decide.
hello tiger
Yep no sunshine here at the moment rain rain and more rain its great out water tanks are nearly full again thank goodness i hate having to buy water. Great news about your neices coming home they must be doing well. spain hey aren't you a lady of the world I haven't even left oz yet not good. Jacobs great hes so cheeky and so big i'm having him weighed for his 6 month check up soon so I'll post the numbers last time he was rated in the 90% range for weight and head circumference and in the 97% range for height so he's a big boy (a footballer perhaps)

Hello Belb
Hope your girls are well you'll have to post a photo of ellie would love to see her.

Hi em Hows the Babes going any kicks yet hope your doing ok.

As for me I start testing for ovulation on the 27th of this month which i think is abit early for me, according to my calculations I won't be having my transfer until the5th or 6th of march or round about there

Take care all

Hi Girls,

Kery, I took off the week of tmt. My EC was on the monday, ET on the wednesday and then I went back to work on the following monday. I have a strenuous job too, but I just made sure I took it easy through the 2ww and accepted as much help as offered. That worked for me. I had mild hyperstim too but I felt pretty good.

Hey everyone else. Have had a big week...working full time is starting to hurt! TGI Friday! Had my 19 week scan on Tuesday and all is well.

Love Em

Thanks everyone for that, that gives me some idea of time frames. I have spoke to my boss about going through ivf but was unsure about how much time off I needed. I think I will just work doing light duties on a casual basis during that time. I guess everyone reacts different to the drugs but it's obvious now that during the EC and ET time means down time!

Enjoying reading your progress and the different stages that you are all at. What great support you must be for each other going through the up's and down's of ivf. Only those that are going through this would understand the emotional and physical toll that it takes!

Hi guys,
It's definitely been a long time between posts. I've occasionally looked in to see how everyone's going but for one reason or another, haven't been able to post.

Hi to all the guys I used to know (Tiger, Bel, Bella, Miss Molly ,Suzanne, Em) and a big hello to all the newbies who joined since.

The reason I've been off air has been because we lost the baby (back in September). We had a bunch of complications and it wasnt to be. Needless to say DH and I were completely gutted. It was probably the lowest point either of us have ever experienced. In the meantime, have been taking a break, keeping up the Chinese herbs and trying au naturale.

We decided to change clinics and try another doc, Dr. Anne Clarke who is supposed to be an expert in PCOS and is supposed to be great. She takes a more holistic approach and does lots of test on both partners to rule things out. We meet with her next Saturday so am looking forward to getting a second opinion.

Anway, just wanted to pop in and say hi and wish everyone the best in their mothering, supporting, TTC endeavours.

Congrats to you Em and also Bel with little Elly.

Hopefull 2007 will be a year of BFPs, good health and happiness for all!

Lots of love
Annette

hey jomae
Gosh what a bugger having to travel every day for bloods. We'll at least you know you won't miss ovulation. As for me i've been using the ovulation test then bloods couple of times then there was a surge yay transfer on thursday. The only thing i'm really nervous about is that my doc is going away two days before my et so a new doctor is doing it. will be so uncomfortable because i don't know him oh we'll i might have to think im in a field of flowers haha :D

Hey Cheeky
Don't stress you think youv'e got something to worry about on my 2nd transfer i was legs up with everything showing in front of these huge windows where there happened to be no tinting, blinds curtains or nothing oh except for the high rise apartments directly across and I figure if i could see what they were doing inside then they could definately see what was happening inside me so try not to worry. I'm sure your doc has some one he or she trusts taking over. And as they say leave your dignity at the door and pick it up on your way out . I just tell my self I'm one of many the doc sees everyday and it'll be over before you know it and then the good bit (mummy time) how exciting for you. What times your ET I'll send you some good vibes.
Heres a laugh for you one of the doctors at my clinic during egg transfers makes the lady sing OPEN WIDE COME INSIDE you the PLAY SCHOOL theme song now that would be embarasing.

So heres to thursday and little embies snuggling in nicely for the long haul
Hey many did you decide to transfer back are they blasto's
