Help Feeling Terrible

Hi Everyone, Just found this web page and from reading a few topics you seem a cool bunch. I had my E/C yesterday - Kings - got 11 eggs which made me feel fantastic DH had SSC but unfortunately his sperm were awful and i now only have 1 embryo, going in tomorrow (hopefully!). We already have had one successful go at ICSI and a lovely little girl 4 years old, she being the main reason we are going through this torture again. Does anyone know the success rate on 1 embryo transfer, anyone been through it. Feeling so sad, cant stop crying and I know i am very lucky to start but it doesn't help the sadness right now.

I bet your stress levels are hitting the roof! and Im not going to make you feel better by saying "YOU ONLY NEED 1" I cant tell you to stay calm either cause Im the worst one for stress , just try and keep ocupied and look forward to picking your little Embi up, then you can join me on your 2ww. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

hi maxbabe i'm sure that it seems really bleak at the moment but the real positive is that you still have the strongest embryo. one of impossible things for an embryologist to do is select the fitest embryo's and this can only be done through natures selection. you know that the beautiful embryo you have is the best. also, many clinic's now only put back a max of two embryo and there is no telling if they are the strongest. i think you've still got a really very good chance. traci is right - it takes only one. stay strong. best wishes, phil

hi try and stay positive you know you can get pg, you are half way there. lot's of girls have got pg with one egg, only one implanted for you last time so just think you only need one any way... This is the strongest egg and it has got this far.So try and think lot's of positive thoughts. well I hope all goes well from july ann

thanks everyone, i really appreciate your positive vibes, i am normally very positive about all aspects of my life but i guess those hormones kick in and the shock of only 1 embryo hit me hard. I am feeling loads better now, I am blessed, I do have a lovely little girl that many people would give anything for and I will be positive, the embryologist (sp???) did say I was very fertile so maybe my body is ready and waiting for this Where is the 2ww section? Thanks again!

Hi max DONT WORRY! Just remember you only need one ! I dont think , you are now any less likely to get PG than if you had had 10 embryos - they surely would only have put one or 2 back in anyway?? And if you have one safely in there AND YOUR ARE FERTILE - then just chill! As you know - you're into teh worst bit - keep in touch Good luck Cazx ps - there no 2ww section - but join the November chain, which will have gals on yr timetable - , I think thats thing to do! I did it in Summer and found it a godsend. May I ask - whats your DHs issue? We had ICSI as my DH had mumps as teenager and has no sperm, in his ejaculate. All a bit of a mare!

Hi Caz, Thnaks for your reply, the 1st grade embryo is in, I was told that more and more people are electing to have only embryo now. I think my hormones are getting the better of me big time! DH had an infection (name is in the notes but cant remember)thus this blocked his tubes, first time at biopsy was told he had excellent sperm, its just in the last 5 years or so quality has gone down hill...I blame weed! Anyway now I am on the 2 ww torture cruise paring it goes fast. I also have a very sore and bloated tummy, doctor said they may have punctured my bowel.....gross anyway take care
