Hey girls, hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day!

Wannababy- How are you and your follies?? I hope you aren't over stimulating and the doctor is keeping a close eye on you. Do you know when your ET will be? It sounds like ER is this week since you are "resting" DH's swimmers!!

Dex- I'm crossing my fingers that it was more than a shadow you saw on that evil HPT!!! I still think you should give it a few days even though I know it's super difficult to handle MORE waiting.

Aunty-How are you doing in your 2ww? I know you said you were surrendering to the evil pee stick today so I hope it's good news for you. Please keep us posted!

Jen- Good to see you on here! I apologize for my ignorance but what is hrt?

Minerva- Congrats on transferring 2 strong embies!!! So you're officially in the 2ww!! Can't wait for your BFP! :D

Kswann- 8 embies…WOW! That gives you great odds. I am praying so hard for you that this is your time. How was your massage lesson? That sounds veeerrrry romantic!!

Angie- Glad you were able to find a suitable place to shoot up on the beach!!

Mumtojazzie- Glad to hear your blood tests were all great. Yay! And I can't believe that ET could possibly be the day of your wedding. You are super woman!! I hope the timing all works out well for you and hopefully you can enjoy your big day stress free and then have a clear head for IVF. :D

Wantababe- How was your Valentines dinner out on the town with DH?

99- PMA, PMA, PMA!!! Only one more week…hang in there sweetie!!!

Mominwaiting- Sorry you have the flu! But congrats on your awesome embies!!! I hope that ET went smoothly!!

Rachelq-WELCOME!! I completely understand the way you are feeling. This is my first ivf too and my emotions are all over the place. Sometimes I am excited, other times I am sad that I have to go through this at all, other times I get scared. But I will tell you that this board has helped me tremendously. All of the ladies are so positive and if you have ANY questions there is always someone willing to give some advice. Ask away and feel free to vent anytime you need to. That's why we are here!!

Carolyn- Glad to hear that the timing on ivf worked out so perfectly for you!! Starting Stimms this weekend!! Woohoo!!!! You are on your way!

Well, my first acu is tonight and I am sooooo excited!! I have been in "wait" mode for so long now that I am ready to get started and feel like I am doing something to get DH and I closer to a BFP!! Now, for you ladies that have done acu I have a silly question… Do you give a tip? I hadn't really considered it but was thinking this morning that I always tip for a massage so is this the same thing?? Let me know what you think.

(((HUGS))) to all!!

Love-
Steph

Hey Ladies,
I’m back. I missed you all! Sorry I stayed away for so long but we were without power for about 24 hours(if not more) due to the horrible snow (then Ice) storm that mother nature hit us with. Valentine’s day didn’t go as planned but it didn’t really matter to me what we did as long as we were together.

Anita—How did your Ultrasound go today? Did the follies grow some more? I can totally relate to you on the HSS. Was borderline for it last round of IVF and my estrogen levels also spiked up this time but not as high as first round. I will be praying for you. I wish there was away to make the follies grow and not hyper stimulate. I wonder why that happens to some women and not others. I guess some of us are more prone to the higher estrogen levels? Who knows?

kswann—Yes I can honestly say that I have a wonderful DH who is so supportive of me thru all of this. He wants to be right in the middle of it. He wanted ER to be on Saturday so ET can be on Thursday, instead of Wednesday. He wont be able to make it on Wednesday due to a very important meeting at work that he cant miss. I told him it was okay. I could drive myself home after the ET. I’m sure many women have done this. Heck, Dex did a commercial the same day. So I reassured him I would be okay. But I know he’s going to be a wreck on Wednesday, instead of focusing on the meeting. He continuously tells me that he supports me no matter what I want to do. I recently talked about giving IVF as many tries as it takes and also about a surrogate mother if it ever comes to that. He told me he will support me no matter what I want to do. The only thing he’s not really on board about yet is adoption. Which I can understand, sort of. He thinks it’s too soon to talk about adoption (only been trying 1.5 years and this is only 2nd IVF). He has so much faith that we will be biological parents one day. I try to have as much faith as he does but it’s hard when YOU are the actual one going thru it all. He’s my rock. He definitely keeps me sane through all of this. I’m praying that your embies have nestled in nicely and are growing and will grow for the next 9 months. So how did the massage lesson go? I hope it relaxed you.

99-How are you? I hope you are keeping busy and trying not to obsess. Stay positive and optimistic. You can do it! Stay away from the HPT! They are evil. You can do this. I have faith in you. If you do the HPT and it’s negative, then all your positivity and optimism is going to go away….and it might be wrong. Stay away from HPT and keep that positive attitude.

Pep—So you got hammered with the snow also? How much did you guys end up getting. We got only about 4 or 5 inches but you would think it was more the way people acted. I have never given a tip for accu. I see it as a visit to the Dr’s office. Accu is more of a medical procedure. I think a massage is more pleasure and I can see giving them a tip. Although some people go to a massage therapist for medical reasons. Just because I've never tip doesn’t mean that I’m right. Also, my acupuncturist is a doctor and gets paid enough from my visit. My tip would only be a slap in his face.

Jen—Someone might have asked you this already but what is HRT and what are the two different colored tablets that you have to take?

Dex—You are a tough cookie. An inspiration to me! I can’t believe that you are assisting in planning a baby shower. That takes courage woman. I’m not sure too many of us would be able to carry that load. I’m not sure I would. You truly are, a best friend. Please stop taking the HPT. You are just driving yourself crazy. I’m confused about your sister in law. Did she ever have a baby? They found out after the second failed IVF that the problem was your brother? Don’t they usually test the men before moving on to IVF in the first place?

mominwaiting—Sorry you’re so under the weather. Are you feeling better? I think you should talk to someone about the hip pain. Are maybe create a new post to see if any of the other girls have experienced the same thing. Hope you’re ET went well today. Please let us know how it went when you are able. Sending you lots of baby dust!

REACH—How was your Valentine’s day?

Aunty—Do you succumb to the evil HPT??

mumtojazzie—Glad to hear that your levels are all where they need to be! Can you explain what EPU is? Glad to hear you have so many follies. ET on the same day as your wedding…WOW, you have a lot going on there. I hope it can be moved so you can focus on being that beautiful bride and skip down the aisle to your DH.

Wantababe—Seems we have so much in common. I am also a social drinker and been off of it for a while. MAN…do I miss it! Just the occasional glass of wine after work to relax. Thanks for the explanation on the implantation. I’m sitting here counting the days on my calendar. lol If I wait 10 days after my ER that puts me at…Argh, forget it. I don’t think I want to know. I do know that my PT with the doctor was scheduled two weeks after ER last time and I’m assuming it will be again this time. So that’s 2 weeks from tomorrow, which is March 2nd. I’m not even going to write that down on the calendar. I’ll just try to wait and not think about it. Yeah, right…easier said then done. Last time AF reared her ugly head before I could even make it to the dr. I’m praying that she doesn’t show up at all, not for another 9 months or until I’m done breast feeding. It was rough last time because I still had to go to the RE to take the darn PT, when I already knew what the result was. It was a waste of time and gas. RE didn’t even call me with the results because we all knew it was a BFN. He even said, “I’m going to assume you’re not pregnant since you have a full AF right now”. Ah, yeah genius. I could have told you that! The bloating is at an all time high right now. Trying not to think about it. After tomorrow it should get better. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. How was Vday? Dinner with a live band sounds awesome. My coworkers wife took Glucophage/metformin for her PCOS and it worked for her. Cycles became more regular and she has now begun to ovulate regularly. That are in the process of trying now. I didn’t take metformin long enough to know if it helped or now. I was diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN. Went to see RE who told me I didn’t have PCOS and to stop taking metformin. Boy, was I thrilled. I really hope the medication works for you. Stay positive and sending you lots of baby dust. :D

Rachel—Welcome! You'll love it hear! All the ladies are so wonderful and have so much knowledge.

Carolyn—I think you’re right. I’ll ask research about acu after ET. He hasn’t said anything about seeing me afterwards so that might be a good thing. Sounds like you had a nice Vday. Do tell. :D Sounds like AF might actually be in your corner. That’s great to hear because she usually doesn’t cooperate with any of us. Hoping that everything goes the way you want and sending you loads of baby dust. Happy shooting up…(sounds kind of weird). lol

Minerva—Hang in there. Sending you lots of baby dust.

Now me--
Had final u/s with RE before the ER yesterday. Estrogen level was about 1300 on Tuesday. Haven’t receive the results back about yesterdays bw. But the ER is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30 am. I have an appointment for acupuncture at 9am tomorrow morning before ER. Then another accu appointment on the morning of the ET, which will be next Wednesday. I’m starting to get excited. :P I’m praying that this IS our time!

Talk to you ladies later. Sending you lots of PMA, love and baby dust.

 Hi girls

Got my medi sent out yesterday and dh nearly died on the spot. I have 40 injections--praying i don't need all of them--and its not a ready made pen, we have to draw them all up and put it in the needle. Yikes i need Doc fast :?

Steph and Wannababyivf - its hormone replacement therapy. God knows what the difference in the colour of tablets is about but they are suppose to do something to my hormone to get them all ready for the big surge of eggs---hopefully. To be honest after 3 failed attempts this cycle is completely different from the others as they are trying this treatment to aim for more eggs. I didn't really feel up to finding out about it all and want to just relax and go with the flow. I trust the Doc completely and if she is going to get me more eggs then i'm all for trying.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow Wanna

Carolyn - still working to hard, snap. I hate my injections, how do you get on with yours? I put baby Emla cream on the spot where i am injecting so it numbs it--yep i'm such a wimp.

Hi to you all, i will catch up soon as there is so much to read.

Still not feeling any symtoms but am tired---nothing to do with the 7 days shift i have just finished eh???

Have got my godson and mum visiting this weekend from Liverpool so might be missing for a couple of days. Have a good weekend

Come back soon girlies

Another quickie for me as busy at work and need to get some sleep as shattered.

Steph - I don't tip for acu. I figure that I pay £45 for like 20 mins and whilst he is fab - he is a professional. I tip if I have a massge but as I figure the girls that do that are generally not that well paid

Wannababyivf - very best of luck for tomorrow. Hope that all goes real well. I found the acu before and after really calmed me down

Jen1d - wow. Mega number of injections - think that I did 42 on cycle 1 to get to EC! Afraid that I have only ever done the pen and I find that ok. Shoot up in tummy. Have some excess there so seems to go ok. Found legs really brused for me! 7 day shift - I swear that you are crazier than me! Have a lovely weekend - sounds really fun

Dex - bad girl on the HPTs. But a faint line is a faint line. Let's hope that line just keeps getting stronger for you

Anita - hope that your scan went well today for you

Mominwaiting - hope that ET went well for you today. What news or are you taking it really easy?

mutojazzie - cannot believe that you are planning ER around your wedding. That is totally nuts and so exciting all at the same time! What a wekk ahead for you. Hope that everything is going to be fab

Angie - you are ahead of me _ AGAIN. I start shooting up Saturday. I am on a higher does this time so may be I Can catch you up!!!

Love to everyone else. Will catch up more over the weekend.

So for me. AF showed today which was pretty much as expected - cycle at 33/34 days rather than 31 days as some drugs still in my system. Really kicked in this afternoon and so my clinic counts tomorrow (pre-midday) as Day 1 so start shooting up on Saturday. Feeling pretty ok about it all right now - sure that will not last.

Will post more at weekend.
Lots of Love and Baby Dust to you all

Hi ladies,
It's been so long that I have posted that I am sure no one remembers me! I started my Lupron last week and I am just waiting for day one of AF to start the stims. It's seems like you are all way ahead of me! My AF is due tomorrow and then I will be on the stims for no more than ten days. I am so nervous, I just want it to work this time. How is everyone else doing? It's been so long that I would have over 50 pages to look through to catch up with you gals!

I am thinking about Accupuncture. Has anyone had a positive experience with this? Does it help with some of the side effects? I can be evil on the stims... My poor DH... He must think I am the devil.

Anyone on their tww? I wish you all so much sticky baby dust. This is our month girls!

Hi ladies,

I love the positivity on this board, it's so nice when I feel so surrounded by people who don't understand what it's like to be in our boat, friends I mean. None of mine know we're doing IVF but know we've been trying for a family forever. I feel like they pity me as they steadily fall pregnant so easily one by one! Ugh. I had to buy 3 baby gifts yesterday, two for newborns and one for a one year old, all girls from my school days. I visited one of the babies yesterday and it was actually great, I seem to find it easier to be around people with babies than pregnant people, does that make sense? Anyway as I drove away I though to myself "I'm going to get me one of those" if this cycle doesn't work I'm going to battle on until one does!

On a positive note I feel terrible today! ha ha. feeling tired and a bit sickly and weepy and my boobs are very sore. I've a week to go til I test and I'm going to try not to do the HPT before that. Kswan, you said it could be the progesterone making my boobs sore so I'm trying not to focus on that, hard as it is! I've another Saturday night alone as dh has a reunion with old work mates, hate it when he's out and I'm not but I'm hiding from anyone who might try and put a drink in front of me! Four weeks since I've had one. We've decided that if this attempt fails we're going for oysters and champagne next Saturday night!

I'm going for accupuncture and I love it, my therapist is fab and is so with me all the way, she even calls to see how my stress levels are and is giving me a couple of free sessions a week during my 2ww as it's just 2 needles in my head(!) for relaxation! She'll be getting a big gift from me. I say anything that might help is worth a go.

I can't remember who it was that said they gave their husband an itunes voucher for valentines but thanks for the idea! I gave dh one too and he loved it.

love Julie

Hi Everyone,
Just woke up from my nap. The anesthesia had a worse effect on me this time. I can't seem to get myself together. All I want to do is sleep and now I feel nauseous. ARGH...the fun never ends.

I believe the ER went well today. My RE got 13 eggs. I find out tomorrow, how many fertilized. Keep the prayers coming ladies.

Jul--It was me that bought DH an Itunes gift card for Valentines Day and like your DH, he absolutely love it! :P

Hope you all are doing well. Sending you loads of baby dust.

I will check in on everyone later and do some personals when I can get myself together. :-(

Hi Ladies

IT IS THE WEEKEND!  PLUS I HAVE STARTED - AGAIN!

wannababyivf - 13 eggies is terrific. Hope that you are feeling better today as the drugs wear off & your tummy is not too sore. Fingers crossed that you get a good fert rate

Angie - how is life down under? Not quite as cold in London as it was a couple of weeks ago which is nice. Spring on the way. I have my first scan next Friday - how about you?

Julie - I feel just the same. I am ok when around little people even babies. But when I hear that someone is pregnant. It makes me feel sick. I guess it is because I feel like that is the bit that I cannot crack. We are all here to support each other so if you need to vent then this is the place to come!! I am a huge acu fan too. Enjoy your evening in. Hoping very hard that there will be no need at all for the oysters and champagne. Dh and I have run away on hols everytime that it has not worked...........

Debbie - Hope that you are going to have a wonderful wedding and that EC is going to go really well for you hun

Sat14 - welcome back! Hope that you are feeling ok whilst on the Lupron. Will do a jig and hope that AF shows up soon for you so you can get going with the stimmies. I am a big fan of acu. I started after my 1st -ve and it certainly helped me deal with side effects of drugs on cycle 2. Gave me a great lining but no great end result! I go every two weeks. Then I will go on Day 6 of stimmies and then twice on day of ET. Once before the eggs are put back and then straight away afterwards. It really made me feel calm last time. I would go to some one that specifically treats infertility/supports ivf if you can

Steph - how was your acupuncture?

Jen1d - so I have started - again! Really busy week like you but am taking it very easy this weekend. Was going horse racing (which I love) with friends but decided that I was better to chill out at home. Hope that you have a lovely weekend with your rellies. What injections are you doing at this stage - sorry if i missed it - but your protocol is so new that it is really interesting what they are trying for you

Dex - what news on the HPTs. Are you still doing? Is the line getting darker? I so hope so

Mominwaiting - any news on your eggies being back at home? Hope that
you are taking it easy and being looked after well. Sending sticky vibes to you

99 - counting your days down. Not too long to go now. How are you feeling?

Minerva- Hope that your 2 little ones are doing well now that they are back home. How are you feeling?

Kswann- 8 embies is terrific! How are they doing? How many will you have put back?

Hugs to those I have missed. Sorry

Not much to report really. AF really kicked in late Thursday so my clinic counts Friday as Day 1 of cycle. On 200 a day of puregon this time. They have upped the dose from 150ml (cycle 1 and 2) as they could only reach 1 side last time. That meant only 6 embies when they were hoping for 12/13 (like cycle 1). They hope that by upping the dose that it could cause the side that was too high last time to drop - under the weight presumably! Or at least should mean that I will get a good crop on the side that they reached both times. Never straight forward is it!!!! We'd like a good crop (as we all would) so we can try to go to blast. Goes 1 & 2 were both 2 day transfer which is my clinics standard protocol. So start second injections on Wednesday - which stop me ovulating. Then 1st scan is Friday! Stay calm.

Have great weekends all.

Lots of Love

Dear Aunty

You stalker!!! So lovely of you to drop in and wish me well on start day of number 3. I am glad to be getting under way - although more with a lets get this one out the way so I can move to new clinic attitude rather than I am so sure that this is going to work!!!!! Although the wait seemed less bad for me this time with Xmas, holiday, New Year and being busier at work too. Guess it helps when you know how long the wait between cycles will be too. Would love them to be able to access both ovaries this time around and then if there were good numbers like go 1 then we would really hope that we might be able to go to blast. My consultant says it is pure 50/50 whether they will be able to collect from a side or 2. Flip a coin.....

I am checking in for your news every day. You know as well as I do that some ladies have no symptoms at all. Keep hanging in there. I see that you pushed your test back by 2 days so that your dh could be with you. Are you going to do evil HPTs or really wait for him to come back? I so hope that this will be your time and am thinking of you all the time.

Lots of Love

Hi ladies,
Happy Weekend to you!!

Carolyn—I am so happy to hear that you have accu twice on the day of ET. The acupuncturist wants to see me before the ET and right after. I thought that was kind of odd. DH doesn’t want me to go back after the ET. He wants me to come home and relax. I hadn’t heard of anyone going after ET, only before. So, I’m going to assume it’s okay to go after ET? Do you advise it? So you’re already shooting up? How does it feel? Did you miss it? Lol

Sat—Hello! Don’t know you but the more the merrier! Hoping AF shows up soon so you can start your stims. Accu, helps relax me. This is my first time doing it with IVF and I found that it makes me calm.

Mumtojazzie---You deserve a gold star! Wedding, IVF and moving. WOW!! That’s a lot. Well at least you have a lot to keep you busy and not focus on the IVF.

Jul—Love your attitude---“Going to get me one of those”…that is hilarious. But I totally understand. I’ll do what I have to do and keep pressing on until it happens.

Jen---I had loads of needles and medication and I had to draw all of them myself. It actually wasn’t that bad. Also, more than likely you will have meds left over. I’m not sure if anyone has used all of their meds in one round. I also put ice on the injection spot to numb the area. It works for me. I don’t feel a thing.

AuntyPebbles—Have you done an evil HPT?? When did you do the first one? Stay positive. Praying that your little ones are growing strong and settling in for the next 9 months.

Dex—Have you done another one of those horrible HPT?? Still praying for you girlie.

Well I’m feeling a lot better. The pressure is just about gone. THANK GOD! I’m still a little sleepy but other that that I feel pretty good. RE called today. Out of the 13 eggs, 9 were mature and out of the 9, 8 fertilized. So we have 8 little ones that we are praying will make it for the long haul. Hubby is so excited that 8 fertilized. He’s so proud of his little men. He said well it’s been so long (since we’ve done anything) that he was backed up. He said he could fertilize a cow right now. I couldn’t do anything but laugh. But he is so damn proud of himself and his little ones. lol

Hi cycle buddies,
Sorry I've been a bit scarce..Hopped onto the POAS addict forum - I needed therapy!!
Just getting back to few of you...

Wanna - No my SIL fell on her 2nd IVF attempt. She got a BFN on her first and didn't cope very well at all. They knew the prob was my brother well in advance and both attempts were done with ICSI.
Hey, congrats on your eggs..All looking good ey. You must be pleased. Prayin for your 8 little ones. Keep us posted xx

CarolynB - Hey good luck with this cycle. You're on your way. Woo hoo.

No luck with me here ladies. Beta on Wed but have done several POAS and all BFN's. AF due today but spared myself the torture of POAS today. I'm 11 dp 2dt now, and 13dpo, so I'm sure somethin would have shown up on that bugger of a test by now. It turned out to be an evap line on my previous test and no luck with the blasted line since!

Still got sore, heavy BBs and temp is climbing each day - 37.04 this morn (celsius) but it's prob the progesterone.

I'll keep you posted ladies, but am not hangin on to hope. Am making an appt with our specialist tomorrow, so we can get started on our FET asap.

Hope you are all holding up and keepin positive,

Luv Dex xox
