I posted this in the ivf forum, but thought maybe this would be the better place. I got a bfp on monday Feb. 12. It was a 48 and I was hoping for higher. It was 13days post transfer. I was a 3 day transfer and the egg was a 4 cell. My dr seems unconcerned and fine with the number, but it just makes me nervous. He wanted me to come in a week later for a second test. This is worse than my 2ww, I just can't get excited about it yet. I know what really matters is if the number doubles, but did anyone else have a beta like mine and still go on to be fine?

I cannot believe they are making you wait a week! Anyways, my 1st # was 58 and a couple days later it was 116? and here I am 32 wks going strong. 48 is a strong #. Everyone says not to put too much stock in the # as long as it is above a certain mark and it is doubleing every couple days. And you are well above the mark. I think you are going to be fine. Good luck!! and try to keep a PMA!!!!! I'm sending you some PMA right now!!

I'm with Riley and think you'll be just fine! Like she said, it's more important that your number doubles than how high it is at first. Keep thinking baby!!!!! In the meant time, I will be sending you lots of good thoughts and baby wishes!

There is a part in there about how hcg levels are lower with IVF. That's exactly what I want to hear too.
I just got my 1st and 2nd beta last week and they are:
15dpo 62
17dpo 121
They are almost doubling, but they are low so I'm going in tomorrow for another test. I hope Wednesday comes quickly for you, this weekend has dragged on for me, I can only imagine having to wait a week!

On my tubal my hcg was 24 then only went up to 26 two days later. My dr just thought it was chemical and told me I would get my period and I bled a bit, but didn't really have a period. 2 weeks later he wanted to test my hcg to make sure I didn't need a d &c. My hcg had gone up to 836. So we did an ultra sound and another hcg test hours later and it had gone down to 791 so we couldn't find any sign of a baby and my hcg was going down.
Your numbers aren't anywhere close to mine. I also had bad pains on one side. Good luck with your retest, Yours does not seem like my tubal at all.
My first beta was 60 at 13 DPO which I was concerned about , but my clinic wasn't. 72 hours later it was 163. On 23 DPO my Beta was only 644 and I had only a tiny gestational sac and my Dr. was worried. I went and repeated it 4 days after that and it went up to 1697. Then I had my 6 week 3 day ultrasound and saw a yolk sac and a heartbeat and heard it at 115 BPM.
Don't put too much stock in the numbers. It matters how it doubles more than what it is. They should be doing one 48 to 72 hours later, which is a little strange. You are pregnant, congratulations!

I lied to you before. I was going through some of my IVF stuff last weekend and found by beta results from the hospitol. My 1st one was 14 which was 10 days post transfer. Then a couple of days later it was 53 which was 12 days post transfer, so I was right about where you were.
So are you testing again tomorrow? Good luck!

Well, I retested today and got an 1173!! So things look good for me and now I just wait for my u/s on March 1st. I finally feel like I can be excited and I can't stop smiling. Thanks for all the support!!
