Jo, I have been keeping up with your posts since Ellie was born and this is the first time I have posted to you. I wanted to tell you that you really are an inspiration! You have been so strong, and it is obvious that Ellie has inherited that strength. I hope you know what a great job you are doing, and what a great mom you are. Best wishes that things keep going smoothly and getting better.
Can you or someone else please let me know how to look at the pictures on photobucket?
Thanks, take care!

Stella June born April 28th, 2007
7lbs. 4oz. 19 1/2 in.
Thank you so much. I don't see myself as an inspiration! It's been really hard. I've never cried so much in my life but there have been tears of joy too!
I cried last Saturday when she was taken out of the incubator and put into a cot! On Sunday I asked to put her milk in a bottle to see if she can suck, she downed it in less than a minute - ok it was only 17mls but even so!
So much has happened just in this last week. As I just mentioned she was moved into a cot on Saturday. On Monday they put her feeds up to two hourly (we need four hourly and all by the bottle and also over 4lb to come home). Yesterday they went up to three hourly and last night she weighed in at.... 3lb 14oz!!!!
I'm so proud of my little girl. She really is a fighter, I can't wait for her to come home. I have to keep remembering she's not due until 15 March so any time before then will be a bonus. I'll try and remember the camera today so I can post some more pictures as she's change so much.
Thank you all so much for being there and listening.
Take care
Jo

hi jo i have been reading your update on Elle and fab news about the weight and how much she is feeding my dd was born 12 weeks early and its a fantastic felling when they go into a cot you just know that she will be leaving soon when my dd left hos she was on 20ml every two hours and it took her two hours to feed my dd is now 16 and all the things they tell you about hearing eyesight and maybe some learning props ignore my daughter is doing her gcse and hopes to get into Dundee to do law and forensics it just gos to show that they might be small but they are fighters i pop on now and again to see how you are all doing and little Elle is in my prayers
Cowgirl I was 26+4 weeks when Ellie arrived. A few people have told me girls are stronger than boys. Apparently the boys are born heavier but girls fight more. One of the nurses told me when we were in intensive care "she'll be ok because she's a girl". That was nice to hear but it was infront of some parents who's little boy had just been re-ventilated! (He's doing ok now though - even sent Ellie a valentine's present!).
Riley I can't wait to see your news. I do go on and read everyone's update but still find it a little hard posting on there as I should still be there!
Karia your daughter sounds fantastic. It's so nice to see them when they're older. You always get told the worse case in the hospital. There are a few nurses in there who were premies and one of them is 6ft!!
Thank you all for asking about us all the time. It really does mean a lot.
Ellie is doing great. Now weighing 4lb 1oz! I think she's on 57mls every 4 hours - they just give me the bottle with it already measured out!
We have our discharge meeting tomorrow so we should find out more. Ellie has chronic lung disease so will probably be coming home on oxygen. As early as she was born if she only comes home on oxygen then I think we have done really well. Looks like she will be home in the next few weeks. As soon as I know I will of course let you all know!
I've posted a couple of pictures which were taken this afternoon.
Good luck to you all. You are all at different stages and I wish you all the luck to get your dreams.
Take care
Jo

I just wanted to pop in and say how touched I am to read about Ellie. I have not been very active on these boards for the last few months. I don't know why. I guess that after the rollercoaster road of IVF I just wanted to have a break. Anyway for some reason today I thought that I would pop in to see how my old cycle mates are doing. I can't believe that your baby is here already, and was born at only one week later than we are at now. It is wonderful how well she is doing and I really hope that you get to bring her home soon.
