Hi, Caz, good for you, already prepare for the 7th try. I wish I was in Europe. I will have harder time to find any RE here to accept me for another fresh cycle. I collected 25 eggs and 22 of them fertilized and 19 of them made it to 2 cell stage and they were all frozen. I transfered total of 10 in two separate times only got one to stick. Which means more eggs, less good quality at our age. I have a friend who collected 12 some eggs only, transferred 3, got twin, but she is only 32! So, the number does not matter, good quality matters. Like Tammy and some other girls here, they got their miracles naturally. As you said, it only takes one good quality! Keep trying as long as you are allowed to.

Tammy, my OBs do measure my belly each time, but they never told me what that means - they probably assume that I already know since I am almost 45. They don't tend to explain anything to me yet I don't tend to ask either, because for some reason, I feel stupid when I ask questions to them. Boy, I miss my REs in San Antonio, they were much more attentive!

Oh, I am feeling much better today, because I can wear lose pj at home and work on my grant with a cup of hot tea beside me - never can I be so productive at work when you have people who come to ask questions every 5 min! The parent-in-laws will arrive on 20th - needless to say, I have not learnt a single word more in French. I am preparing beds for them this weekend. Feeling like that I am a Superwoman, ha ha.

Oh, we are having snows now today, it is beautiful outside. I love sitting at home in front of my computer which faces window, I can see green trees, white snow, and lively people (some are walking, some are running in the snow!) instead of the walls and buidings at work!

Talk to you all soon, girls.

Hi Ladies, hope all OK

Caz, sorry to see your news. Keep us posted on your next steps, good luck x

Bev, Wills is absolutely gorgeous! Hope all is going Ok

Tammy, things are looking good for you, not long now!

Catherine, hope ER went well yesterday. Sending you a fertilisation fairy Image Fingers crossed for you

Kat, good luck with scan on Wednesday. Hoping all continues to progress as it should ........you are in my thoughts and prayers x x

Wanda, not long now until ER. Good luck with this cycle

Yasmina, glad to see you are feeling good. When the Dr measures my belly she says that the number of cm should correspond to the number of weeks pg. My belly measured 32 cm this week and I am 32 weeks pg!

As for me, we had another check up on Wednesday. All went well, we listened to the heartbeat and did the urine sample (again!) Apart from slight swelling of my ankles all is well. I am still praying that all will be Ok and am enjoying planning the nursery etc...won't be long before more of our over 40 crowd will be doing the same. Keep the faith girls, dreams DO come true!

Hugs to all here
Take care

Hello Ladies:

I hope to be going into labor soon. I've lost my mucous plug and have had a lot of pelvic pressure. My bag is packed and I'm ready to go to the hospitial.

Hi All-

Sorry this is a quick update.

ER went fine with minimal cramping. 18 follies 13 mature 12 fertilized.
Number expected to drop as we approach ET. But this is certainly more than we expected.

Thanks to all who sent good vibes. Thanks Anna x for sending the fertilization fairy. I now pass her on to Wanda. Good luck with your ER and ET this week.

Fingers crossed for the 20th. May even have time to have acu before hand.
Will have a massage on the 19th, day before-have an IVF massage package from a local spa.

All the Best to Tammy as she brings her bundle of joy into the world :D

Hi Everyone,

Catharine -Way to go on all the eggs retrieved! I hope all goes well for you and that the TWW isn't too terrible.

Tammy - I am so excited for you! I hope your labor goes well and you have a joyous time meeting your new little one.

I test tomorrow and am pretty sure that it is going to be negative. I have such bad cramps that if I weren't shooting progesterone I would have gotten my period days ago. I just want it over so I can begin a new IVF cycle.

Catherine thank you so much for the fertilization fairy. I was deeply touched by this. I hope to get good news today concerning my DE. We hope to proceed this week for ER. I should be off Lupron very soon and on to Progertrone. I am still with the E2, antibiotics and aspirin. Thank you all for the encouragement. Keep praying for me and I will pray for all of you as well. Cat good luck on your ET.

Hi Ladie-
Just another quick update.

First, fingers crossed with lots of luck for geckogirl, BFP.

Had the ET today. the director decided to transfer 5 of the 12. Regretablly they decided not freeze the remainder, although they were at the eight cell stage and grade 2, they showed signs of fragmentation, suggesting that they would not survive the deep freeze thaw procedure

Guess I'm officially tww. Will try to lower stress, visualize that beautiful carribean beach, gentle waves licking the sand.

All the best to you all.

PS.If anyone has some spare baby dust, could you send some this way

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately testing brought me a BFN today. I am upset but also realistic. The lab lost three of my four embryos and at my age a transfer of one was a long shot. I am pretty sad though. I feel like my time is running out. We are planning on trying again in April if our clinic makes good on their promise to give us a free cycle as early as possible. I will be doing a post IVF consult with my doctor soon.

Good luck to all of you who are testing soon. I wish you loads and loads of baby dust!

Hi all
Geckogirl - sorry to see your news - you sound as though you are dealing with it OK and focusing on the next go which I think is always a good idea

Tammy - good luck!! Looking forward to seeing pictures of Andrew on the outside!

Well done Catharine - 5 transferred! Where are you that they allow 5? I am only allowed to transfer 2

My scan was OK, stupidly  I forgot to increase my dose of progynova at the weekend so my lining was a bit thinner than it should be but they are not unduly worried and I am increasing it now to make up for it.
Next scan is Monday. donor has scan monday morning so when I go in the afternoon they will be able to tell me how she is progressing - they say all is on track so far so am keeping eveything crossed.

Apart from that, the cat is sick so I am off to the vet in a few mins for her 5th visit in the last week, poor little thing. So I have been stressed which is not good, although I think I lost a few pounds.

Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned
Lots of love
Kat xx
