hello ladies, i feel like I could be a bit late in joining the party but I have my collection on Monday and (all being well) transfer on Thursday this week. would love to join the february girls if you'll have me? it's my first IVF and the last couple of weeks have been quite emotional to say the least. I live in the US but am English so are quite a long way from friends and family and haven't got many people to talk to about it. I've only got 8 follicles mature enough to collecion so keeping everything well and truely crossed.

good luck everyone!

Welcome Rebecca J - never too late to join in. I understand that you can feel isolated - I am English living in Oz so same for me - that is why this board is a life saver.

Hi Carolyn - glad you are shooting up again. I have my first follie count tomorrow - after 5 days rather than 7 as he is keeping an eye on me - I'm hoping I don't end up with OHSS again - it's such a balancing act between making lots of healty eggies and hyper stimming!
Me 39 PCO - TTC since Aug 05

Hi Ladies

Wow so much love and support here it's amazing. I'm going to do my best to track everyone but if I missed you out know that my thots are with all the sweet ladies on this thread and I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies by the end of this year.

AEJ- thanks for the good wishes. please keep em coming I need all the good vibes I can get now.

Angie65- nice visuals of shooting up on the beach and the football playing lads. Cracked me up, thanks for that

99- How did the testing go? Did you do it. Please update...

Aunty Pebbles- you've been such a rock for ladies on this board so p/s use some of ur strength now for u and just be positive a little while longer. have known a lot of women have no symptoms and still get BFP . I'll be praying that you are one of them.

Mominwaiting- Sorry about your flu are you feeling better now? But great fert results, you go girl, what's the status now?

Rachlq- welcome to the boards!! being here is the best thing you can do as this is a very emotional process. remember you are definetly not alone, lean on us here, nothing is too silly or small to share and you can also lean on anyone around you that'll be supporting and caring. You'll get through this alright.

mumtojazzie- WOW!!! planning a wedding, IVF and moving house. Men!!! glad to know a real life superwoman. you're amazing to do all these things at the same period and you still have time to post cheerful messages. Well congratulations on the wedding in advance, hope it lives up to all your dreams praying you have a nice wedding gift in the following 2 weeks :) .

pep23- valentines day dinner was funny to say the least. the venue was a flop, looked very nice from he outside but was not inside and the service was way below par. so DH and I decided to leave w/out eating there. we had bible class to attend so we went to mc donalds, ate and then went for our class. it was funny though because we were both dressed to kill (me in a seductive red dress & heels and him in a jacket an all) and in mcdonalds

Anyway I enjoyed spending time with DH and we had a lovely time recounting how we met and all that. so it was very romantic, just not in the way we expected.

wannababyivf- GOOD JOB GIRL. 13 eggies and 8 fertilized that's a 60% fert rate and that's really good. glad to know that bloating has reduced. just remember to drink a lot of fluids. when's ET? Keep us updated girl

sat14- sending AF vibes to you, hope she shows and on time.

julie- Can't wait to hear your good news, sounds like you have all the right symptoms. Love the oysters and champagne bit, hmmm, that sounds so good.

rebecaj- a big WELCOME to the thread. thursday may also be my ER date so who know we may be biting our nails at the same time waiting for beta. 8 follies is a good number, remember all u need is one good egg. best of luck and lots of baby dust to you.

Here's my update. i couldn't go for my ultrasound because I couldn't get on the flight as a a result of new immigration rules (RE clinic is in another region have to take a flight or drive 4-6hrs) . called RE and he said as long as i can come in 2morrow it's ok. but i'm just bumed that govts here can change their laws in the blink of an eye and u can't travel anymore. well it's in God's hands so i'm trying to be calm about all this and hope i'll be able to see RE as planned 2morrow. DH is traveling with me to make sure all goes smoothly. Ok over and out people have a great day everyone.

Hi Ladies

Happy Sunday.

We lost internet access this morning. OMG. I was in such a foul mood as could not come on here and chcek out what the hell was going on. That is how addicted I am.

Angie - Hope that you have a great - but not too great - follie count tomorrow. Hope that you have shaved your legs and painted you toe nails ready to pop up into the chair!!!! Let us know how you get on. I have to wait til Friday for my first scan so you are going to beat me again!!!

Dex - Thanks for cheering me on. It is good to get started. Sorry that the HPTs have not been kind to you. They can still be wrong and if AF has not shown up then there is still hope. Crossing everything for you

Rebecca - never to late to join the party. Very best of luck for EC tomorrow. Sometimes there are follies hiding around the back that they cannot see on the scan so really hope that tomorrow will go well for you

Wannababyivf - would certainly recommend the acu after ET as well as before. I read a lot about it. The before and after is called the German Protocol. Lots of studies as yet unproven but my acu really believes that this is the piece that lifts success rates by 15%. I was nervous about going there after transfer but my clinic tells you to get up after 20 mins and does not advice bed rest. Dh drive me from clinic to acu (about 1/2 hour drive). Acu lady saw me straight away. Laying down anyway. Then we drove 1/2 hour home and I went to bed as was so chilled. I am very cool. Guess it is like riding a bike. Know where to do it to avoid bruises. Headaches have been mild so far too. No complaints!

Mumtojazzie - have the most awesome week. Congrats on your wedding

99 - any news? Thinking of you

Anita - sounds like you & dh had a great valentines evening out despite the change of venue. It is lovely to remember the good times especially when this can be tough on our relationships. Sorry that you could not get to your scan due to the flight rules. Hope that tomorrow's scan goes really well. You must be getting pretty close now

Mominwaiting - any news on how your little ones are doing? Are they back home yet?

Hugs to everyone else. Not sure how much I'll be able to op in this week as quite busy with work Monday - Thursday.

Early days for me. Had quite a low key weekend with plenty of sleep to keep me relaxed/chilled and ready to kick arse!!! Just mild headaches in the afternoon which is just the same as last time for me. AF passing which helps. Acu on Thursday and then scan Friday. Bring it on!

Love to you all.

wannababy ivf, that's great that 8 fertillised! my dh was so proud of his boys too, so hilarious. I think after I'd managed to produce 16 eggs he really felt the pressure was really on for him! We had 12 fertillise so we were over the moon but when we went back for the ET they said they had two excellent ones to put back but the rest weren't suitable for freezing. We were gutted but didn't dwell on it as we wanted positive thoughts for the ET. I'm still annoyed though as I'm certain there must have been a few more decent ones in there if the two they used were near perfect. I have a sneaking suspicion it's cos we're on the National Health and they don't have much storage space. mmm :? Sorry, went into a bit of a rant there, back to positive vibes for you :) good luck with the transfer lady. on the road to getting us some of those! I think we deserve two each!

I also went to accupuncture before and after the ET, it's definitely meant to help.

CarolyB, you're right, it's cos we can't crack it - yet! Hope we don't need the oysters and champagne either. I'm also working on dh to agree to a skiing holiday at Easter if this attempt fails (feel I'll need something to look forward to to get me through). We'll see. Lots and lots of luck to you for this cycle :D

Aunty, you're a legend on these boards - just read your BFP thread!! I'm a bit concerned all my symptoms were in my head as I'm not feeling much any more :? boobs only sore if I touch them although still bigger than normal but not feeling sick or particulary tired today so who knows. slight abdominal cramps but don't feel like period pains. who knows. 6 days to go. just one more that you I think. go us! lots and lots of luck to you you legend!

Dexter, hope you're wrong, you still could be. at least you've got some frosties :) happy wishes your way too.

hi Rebecca, I think we were chatting on another board last week. lots of luck with your collection tomorrow. let us know how you go.

I've been going a bit nuts over the last day, at work yesterday my mate was just back from paternity and could talk about NOTHING but his newborn and my other mate at work is due in 9 weeks, oh joy of joys! I'm sooooooooooo surrounded by it. I should get an oscar for my smiling and awwing displays. I was really down last night and worrying about how I'll cope on Friday if it's a no no. Today I'm a lot better but it's definitlely getting harder to concentrate on anything as the day gets closer. wish I could go for a few beers and put it out of my mind. actually no, hope I don't have a beer for another 9 months.

5 days to go. everything crossed.

hope we ALL get there and soon soon soon. happy thoughts to you all

Hi Aunty

So cool that you are popping in here to check up on us. You are one of the people that totally holds these boards together. I really hope that it is helping you as time passes so slowly - hours feel like they are turning into days and minutes feel like hours - as the deadline approaches.

Just posted on your test thread but I shall say it here if you are reading this thread too. Keep thinking of you and so hoping that this will be your time.

How are you bearing up? Hoping that you are another day closer to your dream.

Take good care. Sending you huge hugs.
Lots of Love
Carolyn

Oo it's all going on here.. Exciting times :)

Aunty, my temps were fraction lower this morn than yesterday - 36.8 or 98.5 in farenheit. I guess the dip means the approach of the glorious AF! Bring her on I say, so I can get on with it. I've run out of POAS so I'm not buying any more. Last one was yesterday arvo - BFN - 11dpt / 13dpo. Didn't use FMU but hey, who am I kiddin. I've never been this high in temp tho, so it must be the drugs I'm presuming. Got DH to take his temp this morn too - just to compare  and he was 36.2, so big diff!

I'm sendin my eggs in for scramblin this cycle.. Hopefully we'll get nice boiled ones next time. Thinkin of doing a FET end March/ mid April as I have to go interstate for work and then a holiday to the UK in May/June, so next fresh cycle wouldn't be until July most likely.

Thinking of everyone and I'll visit regularly to see how you're all doing.

How would you like your eggs?
(That's the title of the book I'm writing)

Hello - my 1st follie scan today was fastest viewing ever - blinked and I missed it. Dr's ever helpful comments today were "Mmm yes lots of littlies". Given my past experience of hyper stim, not sure if this is good or bad. But another date on Friday may reveal more details - have only been going 5 days so far.

Hello Aunty - good to see you here - hope you are holding up well on the 2ww - it is really the worst part - am not looking forward to it.

Better go and sort something out for dinner. Hi to everyone.

 hi gang

Can't keep up with this board, so much news, it's great.

   Carolyn - finally AF, you go girls, everything is crossed for you, i hear a BFP coming your way

well had another hectic weekend with my godson up from Liverpool.

We had a tarot card reading on Friday night, which was my birthday (37, have decided to stop counting now). Anyway there was 5 of us and it was very spooky as she told us so many things that noone would have known about. The best news was that this is my year and my lucky time is up to May. I will recieve good news on April the 18th and not to give up as she can see me with a baby and it will all work out fine. I must say i was a bit "ye ye", but hey, you never know.

My treatment is still the same, nothing new until i go for my scan on the 28th Feb, will then know more about ET etc. Only thing is i feel like i'm putting on weight and i hate it, it can make me quite depressed.

ok will be back soon but off to work in a couple of hours and want to go out walking first.
Love to you all, will try to catch up soon

Happy Monday ladies!!

Wow, this board is really getting busy...so much exciting stuff happening!! I will try to do personals later as I'm at work and should really be working...but had to pop in and check in on everybody!

Quick update from me. Well, I am officially part of the IVF club as I had my first injection on Saturday!! :D I was all nervous and shaky but DH was a pro. Who knew he would have been so good at sticking his wife with needles?!?

Seriously though, I iced it before and didn't even feel a thing. Then once I knew it didn't hurt I was excitted to do my shot last night! We kept looking at the lock counting down. We're really warped huh?? But it is so exciting to both of us that we are on our way to becoming parents after all this time.

And I also had my first acu appt last week and I must say I thought it was great. I was a little tense at first but by the end of it I felt very calm. I think it will be a great way for me to re-center each week and have an hour to myself to reflect. I am really glad I'm doing it. Oh, and my guy also recommends a session before and after ET. He is even going to come to the clinic on the day of the procedure and do it right there! So that's great.

Well, best of luck to all of you in the 2ww!!!!! I'm holding my breath until I see some BFPs on this board so bring them on ladies!! :D

Love-

Hi ladies sorry it has taken me so long to reply, Thank You all for your thoughts.
I am having a really rough time I got over flu!! :D But Injections are seriously ruining my life!!! We had Tranfer on Thur on just one egg a 2AB there was one more that was a 2BB and we decided to freeze it. I have been able to do nothing but sit on heating pad, I moved my injections to morning time, thinking that would help me to work out the muscle so that maybe it would not cramp up, NOT HAPPENING, It is so messed up, The actual injection is not bad at all, it is the after side effect. Both my hips have knots on them the size of baseballs, which means I cannot sit or ly on my back or sides. Please ladies, I have told the RE and they say this is normal, THIS CANNOT BE NORMAL OR NOONE WOULD EVER TRY MORE THAN ONCE!!!! I cry daily, I cannot sit, stand, walk or sleep, because of the pain, I have been taking tylenol trying to dull the pain but I am afraid to take to much!!!
PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME I AM SO VERY DESPERATE, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE A BABY FOR 10 YRS AND I AM WILLING TO DO WHAT EVER I HAVE TO, BUT THERE IS NO LOGICAL ANSWER TO HOW THIS KIND OF PAIN AND STRESS, CAN BE BENEFICIAL AND NOT HARMAFUL TO AN EMBRYO. I KNOW THAT I NEED THE PROGESTERONE BUT THIS CANNOT BE GOOD. IF YOU HAVE A SUGGESTIONS OR IF YOU WOULD ASK YOUR RE'S ABOUT IT AND SEE IF I AM GETTING RIGHT ANSWER THAT WOULD HELP!!
I CAN'T EVEN FOCUS ON THE FACT THAT I MAY HAVE A BABY IN ME, FOR TRYING TO FIND A COMFORTABLE POSTION FOR 5 MIN.
I AM SORRY

Mominwaiting...Sweetie, has anyone ever mentioned trying crinone gel instead of the POI's..? My clinic indicated this is typically the preferred for women, but it is typically a bit more expensive. Is this even an option for you? PM me if this is something that is out of your financial reach, and we can talk...I have a couple of scripts filled just sitting here until I am able to cycle again next year...I am almost thinking you might be reacting to the oil in the script. Most injections use either peanut or sesame oil, and I just did a little research, and they mentioned that the most common reaction to these was due to an allergy or sensitivity to the oil being used. Hang in there, and I hope you start feeling better, kido...You take care of yourself sweetheart...Thinking of you...

Thanks Charity I PMed you!
Ok just a quick reply and then back to my heating pad, I talked to RE and he is going to switch me to an olive oil based PIO instead of sesame oil based, to see if that will help, if not then we will go to crintone, he just wants me to stay on shots until test on Sat, and LORD, HELP ME I am trying my best, I know that it will be worth it in the end.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!!!
