beta numbers please

Post by Maryberr »

Hello,
I haven't posted long on here (I think I did my intro like 2 weeks ago) and I have a question.
Last week we were estatic to get a bfp on our first IVF! We got the first and second beta last Wednesday and Friday.
15dpo 62
17dpo 121
They want me to come in tomorrow to get another beta to make sure everything is going ok. They said they are cautiously optimistic.
I know my levels are low, but are they bad? Should I be worried?
This brings me to ask, what were your betas?
Thanks,
Mary

Hi Mary

From what I have read here and on other sites your beta levels have done exactly what they should for a BFP. They have doubled in 24/48 hours. If you read more you will find that anything over 5 is classed as a BFP as long as it doubles!
I think congratulations are in order!
Well done

Your beta's look perfect to me! Check out www.betabase.info if you want to see how you 'stack up' to other bfps!

The same thing happened to me. 12 days after transfer I was 48 and they wanted to retest. When I came back on 16 days after tranfer they told me they made a mistake on day 12 and I was 82. I was very excited. So then my new beta for day 16 was 203. So I thought I did great, but they said they wished I would have doubled and almost doubled again by then. We thought it was every 48-72 hours so we thought we were safe. So we were a little frusturated feeling nervous still and not really being able to just enjoy the bfp. Good luck with your new beta number, I hope they just show our bodies just double a little slower!!!

use your egg collection day as ovulation...so dpo is days post ovulation or, for we IVF ladies, dp egg retrieval. Make sense?

Hi all,
Thank you for all of your responses, I really appreciate it.
Unfortunately, I got the 3rd beta and it only went up 15 from the last test 3 days ago (136 at 20 days past the retrieval, 15 days past the transfer), they said I will most likely miscarry and to come in on Wednesday for another beta. They will see where they want to go from there. At this point, we are just hoping it is not an ectopic.

Hi Ladies, can i butt in please, I got my first beta result yesterday and its only 13.2 at 12dp 2dt, so 14 days after retreival, i test again tomorrow,
Riley, how many days past retrieval were you with a beta of 14?
I am totally freaking out as my last FET in Nov ended in a chemical pregnancy my first beta then was 7.6 at 13dp 2dt, and went down to 4.2. I am trying to be positive, but the stress last time was awful and i really don't wish to go through that again.
To all you ladies i hope your results continue to increase, sticky baby dust to you all.

Hi!
Mayberry- My prayers are with you for wednesday for good news.

beachbaby- I have been on here for a while and am still confused about abbreviations. My # was 14, which was 10 days post transfer. When I first heard that, and was on here, I thought, man that is way too low! But my RE was not worried. And it doubled every 48 to 72 hours, so slowly but surely I calmed down.
