ovulation symptoms on Lupron

Hello ladies-

This will be my first IVF cycle. I am on day 9 of my cycle and have been on Lupron and Folistim. Much to my surprise, I had quite a bit of cervical mucus yesterday and today (the last year or so there has been hardly any noticable CM during ovulation), and today have had left hip pain and cramping exactly like what I usually feel when I'm ovulating. I know the Lupron suppresses ovulation, so I was quite surprised to see the CM and feel ovulation pain. I told the nurse about it today and she said it would be VERY hard to be ovulating while on Lupron, and not to worry about the symptoms (and that she'll tell my RE). I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed their typical ovulation symptoms while on Lupron. I have no more ovulation test strips at home - I was going to try one just to put my mind at ease.

Can't comment on what you are feeling, but your nurse is correct that the chance of ovulation while continuing Lupron is very low.

I had similiar symptoms both times I took Lupron & Follistim...discharge & pain. My IVF nurse said it was normal and, (this is the abridged version)basically it was my body preparing for implantation, thickening of the lining, etc. Hope this is helpful...

It's funny you mention this because yesterday I noticed more cm than usual and I thought to myself that it was wierd. I'm on about day 8 of my cycle and also on Lupron and Follistum.

Hi Heidi,

Not to worry, I've had 4 IVF/ICSI cycles (3rd one successful) and always start having alot of that after several days of stims, I've always been told it's due to increase in estrogen, as long as your taking Lupron at the proper dose for you you can't OV. I'm about 130lbs and always take 10cc if that helps you.

Thank you, ladies, for your feedback. I was a little concerned but feel much better after reading your similar symptoms. I was on 10 units of Lupron for about two weeks, and my RE dropped me to 5 when I started on the Folistim (on 2/12). I've been taking it faithfully so hopefully I'm all set.
