Cramping

Post by Ems1971 »

Hi all

I got a BFP on Tuesday with a HPT - my clinic don't do blood tests - and I have been booked in for a scan on 2nd March. I am having mild cramping, like AF cramps. Is anyone else experiencing this? I suppose I just need reassurance that its normal. As you can appreciate, I am over the moon, but nervous at the same time. I don't have any other symptoms, except feeling tired.

Am I worrying over nothing?

Ems Congrats on your BFP!

I am 6 weeks now and for the first 6 days or so I had quite a lot of cramping - I was told it is completeluy normal as your uterus is stretching and your embie is burrowing in and growing a lot. Hope this puts your mind at ease. I am still getting the odd pain here and there. A friend of mine got the same during her early weeks. Take care

Look at the cramping as a good sign. As long as there is no servere pain or bleeding, it just means your uterus is expanding.

Enjoy the BFP my dear!!!!!!

Hi Ems

Congratulations on your BFP, I'm so happy for you.

I had severe cramping in the early weeks. Was even rushed into hospital with suspect ectopic as it was so painful. They scanned me and told me my overies were still the size of gratefruits which was why I was in so much pain. They take a while to go down. So yes cramping is completely normal.

You will probably have pains and cramps all the way through your pregnancy, this is your uterus expanding making way for that growing baby of yours!

Hoping you have a great pregnancy, and enjoy it

Yep cramping can be part and parcel I am afraid, I also had real bad cramping (and still do!) you will get used to it!! As long as previously mentioned, it is not to severe and there isn't bad lower back pain and spotting (thats what I was always told..) then you should be fine..

Congratulations and I wish you all the best of luck.

I have had cramping as well...I have talked to the news several times and she said as long as there is no bleeding then we are fine. She said this is normal to have cramps, as everything is going crazy in there. Enjoy your pregnancy!

Hi there!
I'm new... I just got IVF done too and got a BFP yesturday.
I too have been experiencing cramping like I'm going to get my period... and was getting really nervous about that... My sister who just had her baby a few months ago told me it's normal. She got them too....

I'm so glad I'm not the only girl who's getting cramps after a BFP.

*sigh*

So nerve-wrecking!

Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies! [Considering I really didn't introduce myself!] I'll have to take the time and do that on the appropriate board!

I got my second blood test today and Doc called and told me everything is looking really good. I am scheduled for my first ultrasound on March 13th. =)
