Thanks everyone for all the support and good wishes. I have a post-consultation with my RE on March 15th and will see what she has to say and whether they are going to remain true to their promise to do a free cycle for us in April. I just hope I don't have to fight to be compensated for their mistake. I feel bad enough as it is! Will keep you posted though.

Hi Ladies,

I hope you all won't mind me crashing your thread. I'm on the Dec/Jan cycle thread with a wonderful group of women, and thought I could also benefit from the 40 and over crowd. Although we are all here based on our infertility for a host of reasons regardless of age, it would also be nice to be able to talk to women with the age factor as well as see the positive outcomes. So hopefully you won't mind if I stop in here from time to time.

Just some quick history on me. I had 2 failed IUI's Sept. and Octo. and a BFP in Dec. which ended in miscarriage. I recently had 17 eggs retrieved, 12 fertilized, 8 went for pgd testing and only 1 came back normal. I was devastated. In any event I had the 1 normal one and 1 frozen from last cycle transferred on 2/17. Believe I'm so thankful that I came home with 2 as we had quite the scare I wasn't coming home with any, but when you know it's all related to your age which is so out of our control, it makes it very hard to keep the PMA. So hear I sit in the 2ww with much apprehension. Has anyone else had the PGD testing done?

Thanks ladies for letting me crash and I see one of the ladies Tammy is in labor! How awesome is that!!

hugs,
Ange

hi, a quick update from us. Eloise Yangli is here yesterday, 2/20/07, Tuesday, 5:19 am with a weight of 7 lb 11 oz. She arrived through cesarean because I could not pass 7cm dilation after 22h pitocin induction, also my water broke Sunday evening 11: 50 pm which put my baby under stress. We are now in hospital recovery room and doing fine. She is trying to digest my thick colostrum which is a bit troublesome. We will post our litte angel's picture soon!

More later!

Yasmina

Yasmina:

Congrats on the birth of your little angel! I can't wait to see pictures.
WOW, 22 hours of labor and then a C-section! You poor thing.

I'm still waiting!!!!!!!!
I had a doctor's appt. today...........have not progressed since last week, 1.5 cm dilated, 80% and -2 station. The Dr. gave me a prescription for sleeping pills, as I'm not sleeping at night due to the contractions and having to pee. My next appt. is Monday morning. If I have not delivered, we will induce Tuesday morning, which is 4 days prior to my due date. My doctor said that induction normally takes 12 hours.

Regards,
Tammy

Hi all, just a quick posting as still so short of time. I am managing to read everyone's news, but not do too many "personals".

Yasmina, huge congrats on the safe arrival of Eloise - so glad she is here and look forward to seeing your pics.

Tammy, good luck to you when you finally get going. I will be watching for your news.

Anna, it's great that you are doing so well. When is your due date, I cannot keep up? Will be thinking of you, my donor buddy, as you come close to the arrival of your precious bundle.

Jen, excited for you that you are preparing for your tmt at Isida. Can't wait to hear your news as it unfolds.

Kat, so pleased that you are finally underway with your DE tmt here in the UK. Wishing you every success.

Hi to everyone else, my thoughts are with those of you who have been unsuccessful recently, keep your spirits up, I know it is hard - but don't give up. The rewards are so so worth it in the end.

Hi to any newbies embarking on their journeys, sending you my best wishes.

Well, life for me has never been so busy. Everything revolves around 3 - 4 hourly changes, feeds, play time, more changes, more feeds and bath time. Waking up in the night for more feeds and changes is a real killer. But hey, I wouldn't have it any other way. Wills is so gorgeous and growing daily in front of my eyes. Girls, as your little ones arrive, and the gifts of tiny baby clothes come piling in, try to just use half at first, as I took all the labels off, washed them all, and before you knew it he is too big for half of them. Such a shame as he has not worn about a dozen of these fab little designer outfits. Maybe I will have to save them for number 2 - if I have the courage to go for FET.

OK, more later from me if I get time.

Love to everyone

Yasmina - Congrats on the arrival of your little girl.
Tammy - Hope your little boy arrives soon. The wait is the hardest part for anything.
Bev - Congratulations on your busy life. I hope mine gets busy soon too.
Hello to everyone else.

I went for my EC yesterday (Thursday) and I was disappointed that we didn't get more eggs (only 4). They called this morning and 3 fertilized and one is not doing so good, so they separated it from the other two. I'm going in Sunday morning (25th) for the ET and I just keep telling myself that it only takes one. Just praying for all of them to make it.

Good luck to everyone and hope everyone is doing well on med and 2ww.

Hi Ladies,

It’s good to see so much activity over the last few weeks on this thread and so many more ladies joining. I haven’t been posting much just recently but I have been reading up on posts and thinking of you all a lot! I’ll try and call in more often again….

Tammy, will be thinking of you this weekend. Hang on in there and all the best! :)

Welcome Ange, great to have you on this thread. I can’t help you with PGD but I know how you feel starting on your 2ww when it’s been such a struggle just getting that far. Hoping to see your BFP here very soon. GOOD LUCK!

Hi Bev, thanks for the pics. I had a peek at Wills. He really is adorable.

LuAnne – good luck with all your tests. Hope all is going to plan and time is flying by for you.

Catharine, 5 transferred – that sounds great. Sending you lots of baby dust. Do keep yourself busy and for the rest of the time, just stroke your tummy and think happy thoughts. 8)

Wanda – hope you are progressing well too! Keep us posted.

Geckogirl – sorry to read the sad news about your last cycle. Take good care of yourself. I do hope you can get going again soon.

Hi Kat. Wow, March 7th is creeping up sooo fast. Good luck on your appointment. I was lucky enough to be able to book acupuncture on the day of ET at the clinic with an acupuncturist who works there regularly. The session includes acu directly before and after ET. I can’t really say which is more important. I’d just arrange whatever you can with the least hassle for you.

As for me, I’ve been struggling to crawl out of that deep dark hole you fall in after a BFN and don’t know where you’re heading for after that. I always thought I could just keep on trying whatever the odds but I’m getting tired of being left behind. I now feel ready to try alternative routes, but DH is not. He wants me to keep faith in my body and wants us to try again. We have an appointment at the clinic on Monday 26th February. I don’t expect our consultant to have much encouraging news for us but am hoping it will help us both to progress on our decision making.
On a more positive note, I’ve made an appointment with an acupuncturist in our home town.

Congratulations again to those with BFPs recently. Wishing you a very smooth journey in the next months.

Hi to Jen, Anna, Caz, Yasmina and everyone else I haven’t mentioned.

Love
Sonia
