Hi again, just wanted to wish both of you all the best for your tests. I've never made it to test day without bleeding so can't imagine what you're going through or the stress of waiting for that call.

Becky - didn't know you were going to a group in South Croydon - yes I'm very near (20 minutes). Do let me know the details as I'd be quite interested in going on the 10th.

Spoke to the clinic again this morning and we seem to have 7 or 8 doing reasonably well, so will speak to them again tomorrow and make a decision about doing the transfer tomorrow or Monday. I feel much better today - felt completely crap yesterday and went home from work early. Had acupuncture this evening and now feeling quite chilled.

Lots and lots of luck - I'll be glued to the boards over the weekend for your posts, love

Alison x

Hi again, Becky how are you doing? Waiting must be driving you mad by now!

Well, they phoned this morning to say that we still have 5 doing really well so they want to wait til Monday to choose the best ones. I was a bit unhappy about waiting longer, but think that that's just me being irrational and worrying too much. As DH said, if they're going to make it to blasto they'll make it, whether they're inside or not, and I'm sure that's right. So worried though that they'll call tomorrow and say its all going pear-shaped.

I'll check in again later!

Alison x

Alison,

Just came on to see if anything from Becky too, will have to wait!

Sounds as though things are going to be fine with you. I know what you mean about wanting them back in because waiting 5 days drove me mad but just remember the embryologists are the experts!

Love Rach XX

Hi guys

well as you've probably already noticed I was soo0000 lucky today - it was a +ve. can't believe those little stragglers made it when you think they were only 2-cell on day 2!!! just goes to show. We are out celebrating tonight but only OJ for me. the last 2 hours before the phone rang were agony, i can tell you!!

rachael - all the very best for tomorrow. let's continue the trend. it would be so great to have you on the other side too.

alison - email me your email address to Menzieshunt@aol.com and I will send you gwyn's address, tel number and details of time ect as don't want to put her residential details on the internet!! I think it's good that they are waiting another day but know exactly how scary that must be. may see you up there on Monday as I may have to go and have another blood test done to make sure levels are doubling up nicely. all my love beckym xxxxxx

Hi again - Rachael, really hoping its good news for you too today. The wait must be getting unbearable.

They phoned again this morning - I think I've spoken to a different embryologist every day! The first thing she said was, "some of them are doing what they should do, but I'll tell you more tomorrow", and of course I immediately thought it had all gone wrong, thinking there were 5 yesterday, so p'raps that only leaves 2 or 3, but when I asked how many were doing the right thing she said 6! So I don't really understand, but am feeilng reassured. Have to be in at 7.45 for transfer tomorrow which is a bit of a bugger - in the past its been mid-morning. Still, I'll be glad when they're back in (for the first 5 minutes - and will then start worrying again!)

Going to Mum and Dad's for lunch today so won't be back til later, but will log on as soon as I'm home and hope to see Rachael's good news.

Alison x

hi guys

rachael - still no word. really hope it was a +ve and you are just busy phoning your family.

alison - best of luck mate for tomorrow. sounds like they are going to leave them to blastocyst, doesn't it? having 6 left at this stage is very good going. I will be coming up tomorrow, but only for another blood test so probably won't see you. let us know how you got on. beckym xxxx

Hi Everyone,
What a day!! The good news is that I did get a pos but I am concerned as my level was 44, although the clinic did say that anything over 25 was normal but you know what it's like!

I have to go back on Tues for a re-test and if it is still going up, because of my history, I need to go onto a drip for 4 hours, they are going to put something through my system which will attract killer cells, if there are any, a kind of insurance thing I think.

I am grateful for a pos result but why is there always a but? We did so much waiting around last time for things to just end in a mc and I am so worried that it will all go wrong again, ahhhhhh but must try and stay relaxed now there is something to fight for I suppose!

Alison, sounds as though things are going fine, I will be thinking of you tomorrow, it's better to go early and get on with it anyway!!

Becky, the clinic didn't call until 2.45pm and when they did it was to give me info re my meds, they had thought we had already been told the result!! Could have killed them as it was so late, we thought it was def a neg!! Hope you get on fine tomorrow!

Will say a prayer for all of us tonight & Lucy on her hols!!
Take Care,
Rach XX

Rachael - fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have been so mad at them though for keeping me waiting!!! don't worry too much about the hcg level as I can confirm from my research on the web that over 25 is def pregnant so you are def preggers!!! (The borderline is betweeen 5 and 25). I know exactly what you mean about starting to worry about the next 2 weeks though as I have already started worrying that hcg levels may not double tomorrow, that it might be an ectopic (as I have been getting sharp pains down the lower rhs) etc etc!! Was it an early m/c last time then? Is this why they are going to put you on a drip? Can't believe we have to still keep on these heparin injections!! Do you know how difficult it is to get hold of them here out in the sticks? I now have enought to last me to Wed and that's it until the chemist orders them in specially!! Rach, am so pleased that it was a positive for you as well. Hopefully we can meet up in town in a couple of weeks and celebrate. Maybe we can arrange to get our 6w scans on the same day? go and put your feet up now. don't know about you but I could sleep for England - though was up at 5am this morning cos I was just too excited to sleep!! LOL beckym xxx

Oh Rachael, I was so worried when you hadn't started your own strand - so glad you've got a positive, but what a horribly long wait! Try not to worry about levels (impossible I know!) - it just sounds as if as ever ARGC are taking all the necessary precautions.

Well done you two! Love to Lucy too if you're checking up on us - but I hope you're having a great time and not thinking about all the IVF rubbish.

Alison x

Hi again - yup, I've made it to the 2ww (or the 10 day wait!) Had one blasto and 2 "nearly blastos" put back in this morning, and have been taking it very easy since then.

Becky - how did it go with your levels today? Are they moving up nicely?

Rachael - good luck to you tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

Alison x

god, bl**** hell, what a rollercoaster day. just thought I'd warn you rach that the clinic was so slow in getting the results out today - didn't get them till 5:50pm by which time I was practically climbing the walls with anxiety thinking that they'd got it wrong on sat and din't know how to break it to me or that the levels had gone down so they were retesting etc. Apparently the labs didn't send any of the results through until 3pm and then the clinic were one doctor down so took them much longer to analyse them all. Can you imagine those poor sods who were getting their first set of hcg results today? They must have been frantic. I started really stressing from 4pm onwards, can't have done my embies any good!! in the end levels had doubled to 146 which i understand is ok but have to go in again on Wed to retest. is this routine at the ARGC to go in every second day then and how long does this continue? feel at least i have a reprieve tomorrow when i can relax a bit.

anyway rachael best of luck tomorrow for your levels. hope you don't have the long wait but at least you will know what happened today! will be looking out for your post.

alison - sounds like you got three good embies put back in. much better chance when they get to blasto or nearly blasto, isn't it, so looking good for you. maybe you'll have triplets!!! when is your test date? beckym xxx
