CRAMPS ??? during 2ww w/ Progesterone shots

Post by kswann »

Hello,
I'd love it if someone could answer this question for me. I am at the end of my 2ww and supposed to test tomorrow, but for reasons I won't get into, I've chosen to wait until Monday. For the last three days I've had mild cramps. I'm taking progesterone shots and I'm wondering if it's because my body wants to bleed (AF) and is having the cramps but not bleeding bec. of progesterone OR, if it is an early pregnancy sign. I know I will know soon enough on Monday one way or the other...but you know how it is!!! Would love anyone else's experience or guess with this...

Hey KSwann

How is the 2ww treating you. I've found it very hard this time around. I also wondered about the cramps and so trawled through a lot of old posts. I had been having cramps for a while but none today. I test this Monday (same as you!!!). I'm not on progesterone but am taking HCG injections every third day.

From all I've read the cramps are very common and occur in those with BFPs and those without. I think that a lot of it does have to do with the meds to be honest. I have been absolutely paranoid that AF is coming because that is how it feels.

Have you had any other symptoms. I have been a bit of a cow and also have developed sore boobs in the last day or two (also ususally happens to me before AF).

Girls -

Tough to read into the cramps. But I will tell you that you do get cramping with implantation and when the uterus begins to grow. You have them for awhile in the first trimester. Tough to say as you also get them from AF and the meds like her highness Fiona mentioned. I think the only thing that will cure this ailment is the HCG test on Monday. I am sorry you have to wait so long. Just take the cramps and sore boobs as a good thing and stay positive for the next few days... I hope you will both be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you so much both of you for responding. It's nuts, isn't it? I just have to be here with not knowing -- as you do too. Ugh. I don't have sore boobs really, though when I was pregnant (before we miscarried) my boobs didn't get sore until week six or so. Anyway...these next three days are the killer. Keep me in the loop if you'd like Fiona -- since we are testing on the same day.

Yeah thanks Amy, I guess the only conclusion that I could come up with is that you can't trust your body with all these drugs.

KSwann I'll definatley keep you in the loop, only a couple more days to go now! Fee

KSwann..

I've had cramps during my 2WW as well. I test on Tuesday 2/27. My Dr. explained that progesterone can make your body feel pre-menstrual which would explain cramping and sore boobs. Cruel joke to give us those symptoms that are so similiar to pregnancy symptoms as well. So although it's so difficult not to worry about all the things are bodies are feeling, it's perfectly normal and the only sure thing that will confirm it for you is your blood test.

Good luck sweetie!

hugs,
Ange

Thanks Ange,
Yes, I decided a while ago that I couldn't trust my body with the drugs in my system. I've felt pregnant so many times. The cramping is new though, I didn't have it last time I was on progesterone, so I was getting hopeful. Funny how I could just go and get the test today but really, I'd rather hang out ruminating over the cramps than take it! I guess I'll know soon enough. One more bummer is that I had a dream I got my period last night. I always have this dream the night before I bleed. I was hoping I wouldn't dream about AF this month!
Ah well...
Thanks for chiming in though and fingers crossed for othe 27th.

Hey Fee!!
:D That's awesome! So happy for you. I have not tested yet. No symptoms really except that I haven't had my period, but progesterone shots will do that. Thrilled for you though! Yipee!
