evening ladies

sophie -       sorry to talk about your language like that. actually, strictly speaking, i'm new to this phrase as my first language isnt english (its german and i came to england when i was 13...so nearly 9 years ago)...never understood why they said that but just realised...so oops...sorry!! anyway, its very exciting about your egypt trip...i'm sure you'll love it. never been there myself but have friend that go back there every year. thanks for the advice by the way, i know i need to let go. like you said, its my first time so its really hard to just let go...and i think the other thing i need to learn is to trust my clinic. just out of interest...how long did you stimm before they checked your follies and how long did you stimm altogether?? (and everyone else??)

welsh - lovely to hear from you!!! hugs!!

sassy - thank you. its going quite well actually. getting completely used to the injections now and although ive been feeling really sick since thursday i'm actually starting to feel better now. so hopefully it was just a matter of my body getting used to the meds. anywya, how are you doing??

xx

Shantala,

It's okay, I was just avenging my fellow French speakers! ;) My best friend's husband always says "excuse my English" each time he belches! LOL! So don't worry, we're guilty of the same cultural sin! ;)

As for the stimming; I had a blood test on day 5th of my stimming, but no ultrasound. Then I had an appointment two days later for an ultrasound and got checked every second day until deemed ready for trigger. I gave myself the trigger shot on day 13 of my stimming. It's not extra long, but it's longer than average; I think the norm for stimming is around 8-10 days. I know it's hard to be patient, and if it drags a little you'll believe that your ovaries are sleeping, but it's better to have a slow start and have your meds upped than start too aggressively and go into OHSS and/or have your cycle cancelled because your hormones are to the roof.

Take care sweetie, and have a nice weekend! ;)

hi sophie - ok, we're quits then!

thanks for the explanation. oh, i'm definitely not impatient...i worry that coz i'm young i will respond to the treatment well and worry as they are not seeing me at all until day 9 of stimms!? however, i am still downregulating (at a reduced dose) so i'm figuring that this may reduce the effect of the stimms?? did you carry on downregulating whilst on stimms??

have a good weekend too!! i'm going to a spa place tomorrow to just chill out...cant wait!!

ANGE! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting and waiting to hear your news. I JUST KNEW IT WAS GOOD NEWS! I'm so excited for you. I was doing the jig! I can't even believe it. It's soooo great!!! See , you're still my inspiration! I want to follow right in your footsteps.

Arizona, I'm so so sorry your cycle was cancelled. I'm glad you will get to try again real soon.

As for me girls.... Sorry I've been off for a few days. I actually had my surgery. They scheduled it very quickly after my sono. They called me the next day and said it was for Thursday. So, 8 am Thursday, they were removing a fibroid and two polyps. One of which was incredibly ENORMOUS! She gave me a picture. I couldn't believe it. I almost filled the entire uterus. EEEEEEK! ANyway, surgery went great and I thought I was still on track for March (Isn't that why she did the surgery so quick) then yesterday the office called me and said she is postponing me until April AGAIN! I cried. I just couldn't cope with waiting another month. This is the 3rd time she bumped me back. She said I wouldn't get my period in time again to do the March cycle. Does that make sense right after a D&C? Why wouldn't she have known that the day of surgery. I'm so confused. I thought she was doing the surgery so quick to keep me on March. I don't get it. Pls. help explain it to me if anyone understands this.I 'm so dissapointed. So, I guess I'll be bumping from the Dec/Jan thread, to the Feb thread, to the March thread, and now APRIL! UGH! She said look at it the positive way. At least you'll have another few weeks to lose a few more pounds. I WANTED TO KICK HER. I went out last night and ate a HUGE plate of ravioli in alfredo sauce and lots of bread, two glasses of wine, and even dessert........ I did feel much better after that. :-)

bwhd - hey hun....glad your op went ok but i'm so sorry to hear they've delayed you again!!!! its so awful when they delay you again and again and again. unfortunately i cant help as to whats happened as it doesnt make sense to me either. i was under the impression as long as they got you in for the op in time and everything went well you could still cycle in march. are you sure the nurse didnt realise you could still start in march?? is it worth asking a doctor maybe??

anyway, thinking of you!!!!!! big hugs!!

Hi All...

The reality of all this is still so surreal for me. I think I've figured out why...As we've all experienced, everything about IVF is so contrived, scheduled, planned, etc. The time we take our meds, shots, the day we start bcp's, downregging, stimming, u/s's, geez just about everything. So when I got that call yesterday, I was completely caught off guard and had really made peace with not knowing anything til Tuesday. For a minute, I felt like a 'normal' person getting pregnancy results. I don't know that I'm articulating this too well, makes sense in my head, but maybe not on paper.

Thank you everybody(rachel, susette, gecko, beach, charlie, fee )and anyone I might've forgotten I apologize for your well wishes for a continued BFP and soaring betas! The first, well maybe the second thing dh asked me last night after we got the call was 'are you going to post to your nbf's? (new best friends) I'm so happy to have this support system and he probably is too, so I bug him less :D

Shantala... I actually stimmed for 15 days, but that's because I'm 'old' and really needed my body to produce some follies. I did take a downregging shot with it to help prevent oshh. As for the list, hmmm, let's wait til my numbers on Tuesday to report official BFP, not for any other reason than actually I don't have a reason.

BWHD...I am more than happy to remain your inspiration for the next 8 months. Your support is priceless. hugs! I'm so glad your surgery went well and they've cleared the way for your embies. I would definitely talk to the dr. regarding when you can start and why the information has changed. The nurses are very knowledgeable, but if it was your Dr. who gave you the info first, best to circle back to him

Sophie...thank you thank you. I love what you said about my body remembering what it had to do. Can't believe I haven't gotten pregnant in 10 years and now 2x in a row. Honeymoon sounds lovely. hugs!

On my way out to dinner with dh and friends. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies.

hugs,
Ange

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you for all your kind thoughs and support. It helped a lot. I beleive everything happens for a reason and I know this weekend would have been a real challange for me if everyitng had gone according to plan and we had had EC and ET last week.

We have historic home where we run botique weddings and receptions and on Saturday we had a wedding that was booked over 12 months ago. While I had organised additional staff (and flowen my sister up to give us a had getting everything ready and to oversee everything on the day) For the last 8 weeks I have been worried about how I was going to be able to step away from the wedding for the day and leave everything in other peoples hands. I guess my body over-rode my mind and took control of the situation for me..... (I was worried that it I got a BFN I would always be blaming it on the wedding on Saturday and a couple large functions we have this week also) Sassynlv - I think it was your advice - see this as a trial run so the RE can get it perfect next time really helped put it all in proprotion also. Thankyou.

Ange - congratulations - I am so glad you are loving the feeling of being "normal" - enjoy!!!!!

Sorry I haven't done any personals - I'll try and get some done later today

Take care everyone,

Lots of Hugs, Arizonakiwi
