Just a quick post as its November tomorrow to see whether anyone is around to join me as a November Cycle Buddy? I started stims yesterday so best guess at the moment is that, all being well, e/c will be on about 11 or 12 November, so I think I'm well behind most of the OCBs. Be great to link up with anyone on a similar timetable.

In the last two years we've had 4 full IVF/ICSI cycles, 1 FET, and I've had 2 operations on my (knackered!) tubes, the second to remove them. We're therefore pretty much decided that this will be our last go - one way or another I'm looking forward to having my life back (although ideally a different sort of life that involves morning sickness and then nappies!).

That's all for me for now, but look forward to finding some buddies!

Alison x
Hi Alison,
I cant join you as an NCB because Im not cycling til feb next year (my first fresh go ended in a freeze all due to overstimming and Ive had 4 fets so far) but I am due to have tubal surgery in December, either to try and unblock if they are not too knackered or to whip em out. I was curious to know how long did it take you to get back to normal/work after the op? I cant seem to get hold of this info (except my consultants secretary reckoned Id be off 2-3 weeks)Any way good luck with it all
love Annie
Hi Annie - I was advised that I'd need to take up to 4 weeks off, but it would depend how big a "hole" they needed to make!! I went back to work after about 2 1/2 weeks, but worked short-ish days for my first week or so back, so your consultant's secretary is probably not far wrong! When I had the previous op to have the tube clipped I was off work for 4 or 5 days. Hope this is of some use - good luck!

Alison
Hi Alison,

I have my baseline scan on 5th November and all being well should hopefully be starting Menopur injections then so I'm not too far behind you. I've joined the OCB thread, there are a few of us on there who are not too far into their treatment cycle so plesae feel free to come and join us, you'll be very welcome!!

My short history - I'm 32, dh is 45. This is our 2nd ICSI cycle (1st one failed in July this year) I have mild PCOS and dh has poor count / motility.

Look forward to speaking to you soon.

Love

Julie

xx
Alison

you are so naughty!! there I was worrying that you hadn't down-regged as we hadn't heard from you for days and here you are stimming away happily!! saw Rachael at the clinic the other day - I had ec today, she is tomorrow. I am on OCBs as well so come and join in - it's no longer OCBs really as we are all now testing in November/December!! think we should call it the pre-Xmas dash. Mr T has just instructed me to start injecting heparin and am freaking out because there is no gun!!! have you had to inject this? do you do it slowly or stab it in? which hurts less? not sure I'm up to it. at least with gun it was automatic and you don't see the needle going in. also am slightly concerned they have left it kind of late re the heparin as the nurse mentioned something about only getting the results back today which apparently have been done ages ago. rachael has been on heparin since before ec!! hope they haven't messed up.sorry, probably being completely paranoid. good luck with your stimming. know it's not fun trekking up every day for BTs but it'll be over soon. beckym xxx
Hi there

Just popped in to wish Alison all the best for her stims this cycle. Good luck girl, I hope you get your dream, I really do. No doubt so does Mr T!!

Becky - congrats on your HUGE amount of eggs. Try not to worry about the quality - they are in the best of hands with the embryologists at ARGC and they will make sure they get the best treatment. Are they calling you this morning to tell you how they're coming along? Also, re: heparin, don't panic. On my 2nd cycle I started injecting heparin from ET. On my 3rd cycle I was injecting from day 5 of stims, but that is because I had tested positive to antiphospholipids the 3rd time, and not the 2nd. My handy hints for injecting, as I had exactly the same panics as you did, are as follows:

Get your husband/partner to do it (I was terrified at the thought of seeing the needle go into myself too!)
Do it in your tummy, not your thigh
Sit on the bed or sofa and get your back at a 45 degree angle to the bit your sitting on. Get dh to squeeze a nice big bit of flesh about 2 inches to the side of your belly button. Tell him to keep squeezing as he puts the needle in, presses the plunger and then pulls the needle out. Only let go of the flesh once the needle is out.
DO NOT rub the area afterwards.

I'll be honest, it does sting, but other than that it's fine.

Good luck both of you!

Love
Lucy

xxx

hi alison
i'm due to start icsi tmt on about the 10th or the 11th so we are at the same stage.this is my 2nd icsi 1st failed in may.i'm finding this tmt a lot harder i think its because i know how it feels to hear the words .no it hav'nt worked .
good luck and hope to hear from you soon.
take care
cath xx
Traci

It's OK to rub after buserelin...it's only after heparin that it's a problem as it makes you bruise REALLY badly if you rub it....and then you've got problems when you have to inject again either the same day or the next day. So don't worry, you silly billy.

Good luck
Love
Luce
xxx
