Hi ladies,

Thanks for your kind words. Feeling ever so blue but I know it hardly ever works first time so I'll get straight back to it as soon as the hospital lets me. I get one more change on the NHS and think they make me wait for a natural AF before I can start down regulating again so looks like I'll be back on for a May cycle - seems soooooooooooo long to wait! Guess I'll try and get my head into work and try and forget about it all for now.

Really hoping that the rest of you get the BFPs you deserve so much. Will keep checking in to see how you are all getting on.

love Julie x

Congrats mom in waiting - you must be over the moon.
Sorry for your BFN Julie - but you are right - for so many of us the 1st IVF is often experiemental to get the doses right.

caroyn - how did your scan go ? Are you triggering tonight. Any gigs to go to this time to do your trigger? :D I bought the Killers recently ( I think it was them that you saw) and can see why you couldn't miss the concert - they are awesome - I too would have done the trigger shot there!

Well - had another scan today - 8 to 10 are growing slowly with lots of little ones in the waiting which he is trying to avoid stimmulating . Biggest is 13 mm so still a fair way to go - thinks it will be another WEEK! I will certainly beat the record of the longest ever stimmer - could be 21 days - frustrating but I understand I must be patient .

Mominwaiting. WHOOOHHOOOO. Way to go. So pleased for you. About time that we all had a BFP to cheer about :D :D :D

Julie - hugs. It seems like ages now til May but it is good that you have a plan and that you can get another try on nhs.

Wannababy - sounds like you are bearing it well. I hate the end bit of the 2ww. Interesting about lap to get them out - Marcus said that was an option too so I should certainly ask

Hugs and baby dust to everyone else

Well 2nd scan was much the same. Follies doing really well - size and numbers - but can they reach them??? About 10 on right and another 8 on left. Some up to 19mm so trigger is tonight. All sorts of fun and games with clinic not being able to reach me and my Mum creating a mad panic as dh has been on antibiotics & was that ok...............but shoot up for the final time at 11pm. Just 50 minutes time. OMG! Here we go. Has crept up on me quick as I am in total denial about this attempt. They are still worried that access may be restricted on both sides but scanner (lovely lady again) said that they would alert my consultant and he would be on standby if required to ensure that they have the best go possible at getting to them. That reassured me a little. So just have to wait and see what happens. Planned my diary around EC on Wednesday so that worked out well. Let;s hope that they can collect and dh and I quite keen to try for 5 day blasts as only had 2 day transfers before. Any way one step at a time. I'll try to come on here on Wednesday before dh sends me to bed to update you all.

Love to you all.
Carolyn

Hi Folks,
Thought I'd let you know that we got a negative result today. I have not cried, nor do I feel devastated. Somehow, accepting the possiblity that this may not work helps me not get so crushed when dealing with the reality of a negative. I had really prepared myself mentally, as well, for another six months of this. I just wish my husband and I could go on to living a life free of Dr.'s appt. and all the stress around this.

That said, I am confused and...hurt... that we have transferred a total of 16 embryos (probably only nine of them were good candidates) of supposedly really good quality and only one partially took. I wish I knew what was going on...

Nevertheless, I know that when I am fifty, I will look back knowing that I had a little window here in my ovaries' life to give it my all. I need to keep going now for the sake of that 50 year old -- I don't want her to have any regrets -- and then when I really feel done, I'll quit.

I'm praying for the rest of you that this will be it for you. Very glad for the positives that have already sprung up!

xo

Sorry to hear that Kswann - I know what you mean yearning for a life free of dr's appmts and just this whole thing going on in your head. It's all consuming. Take time out to re-group - you will know what to do when the decision time comes. Take care.

mominwaiting~ yeahhhhh!!!!! That's great! Good for you guys! we look forward to watching your numbers go up and hearing about your growing tummy. Good inspiration!

Kswann ~ oh, I'm sooo sorry. You seem to be so strong and dealing well. I like the way you look at it in terms of how you'll feel when your 50 looking back. Giving it 110% now. No regrets. That's what I have been saying to my dh - I don't want to wander "what if." When we're ready to stop we'll know it. And what is meant to be, will be and we will find a different path if we are supposed to...but now is not that time..! I am sending prayers your way and know that you'll be a wonderful some day. PMA.

Carolyn ~ How exciting - tomorrow is the big day! I pray that they are able to get all those little embies out and they grow, grow, grow! Please let us know how you are once you are recovered a bit. Lots of prayers and baby dust your way!!!

Julie ~ they are right - sometimes it does take a few times to get the "cocktail" just right! I saw a HUGE difference between my first and 2nd tries...much more successful and hoping 3rd times a charm! Hang in there and I may be cycling with you next time...I do a FET May/June time frame.

wannababyIVF ~ 4 more days! Wow! This was the toughest few days for me....could hardly keep myself from doing the HPT! Hang in there and we are praying every night for a BFP :D !

Hi to everyone else and hope everyone is doing well!!! :)

KSwann, I'm awfully sorry for your bad news. I admire your courage and strength and hope that you will be able to go through the process again with happy result next time. I have also thought about my life in years to come and wondering "what if" if I did not give IVF every chance. I had fully committed myself to multiple goes because never wanted to have that "what if" struggle. We give up so much of ourselves to this process that it is hard to contemplate going through it all again but you sound like you have already made the decision to continue which is fantastic. Again I hope for better news next time. Fee

Mominwaiting—Congratulations on your numbers increasing so much. That is wonderful. I know you are happy! Enjoy the next 9 months!

KSwann—I am so sorry about your bad news. I do like your outlook however. I am happy you haven’t decided to give up. Sometimes I feel that IVF is a trail and error process. If something doesn’t work the first time, drs want to switch it up and see what happens for the next time. The key is not to have any regrets. You are a strong woman and you have already decided to keep moving forward. Continue to have that positive attitude and you will become a mother one day.

Carolyn—Good Luck on your transfer tomorrow. I pray they will be able to get to your little ones. Just think positive. Keep saying to yourself that they will be able to retrieve some eggs….and they will.

Jul—I got a BFN with my first cycle of IVF. The doctor changed my HCG trigger and this time I got more mature eggs and more fertilized. I’m praying the 2nd time is a charm. I believe IVF is a trial and error process. They are not sure how your body will respond to the meds so they are trying to get it just right. I pray that the second time is a charm for you. Don’t give up hope. Your time will come.

I’m just patiently waiting for my beta test on Thursday. Trying not to over analyze every twinge I feel. Trying to stay positive. Trying not to even think about it. HA…yeah right! Easier said than done. But I refuse to take a HPT! I’ll just wait. Or at least try to. lol

Hope everyone is doing well. Sending you all lots of love, hugs, PMA and baby dust!

KSWANN - I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR YOUR NEWS AND I LOVE YOUR OUTLOOK AND I AGREE WITH YOU 100% !!!

I JUST GOT SOME BAD NEWS AGAIN TODAY.....I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE THOUGHT I WAS BEING A WORRY WORT ABOUT MY NUMBERS WHEN I FOUND OUT I HAD A BFP........BUT I GUESS MAYBE DEEP DOWN SOMETHING DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT. I HAD MY 1ST U/S MONDAY, 7 WEEKS, THE DR. DIDN'T SAY TO MUCH, JUST THAT THE LITTLE BEANIE IS SMALL, BUT THE RN SAID SHE SAW THE HEARTBEAT.....MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT AND I ALMOST JUMPED OFF THE TABLE TO HAVE HER SHOW ME WHERE IT WAS, BUT THE DR. WAS ALREADY FINISHING UP. ALL THEY SAID WAS WE'LL CALL YOU WITH THE BLOOD WORK RESULTS LATER TODAY. I GOT THE CALL AT WORK THAT AFTERNOON......THEY SAID THE BLOOD WORK WAS FINE......THEN 3 HOURS LATER I WAS HOME AND THEY CALLED AGAIN AND SAID THE HCG # IS DROPPING.....SO ME BEING ON CLOUD NINE WAS FOR ONLY A SHORT MOMENT. THEY WANT TO SEE ME AGAIN ON THURSDAY, BUT I FEEL LIKE THIS IS ALL SLIPPING AWAY. I JUST TURNED 41 SO I KNOW THERE ARE SOME DECISIONS TO MAKE, I JUST HOPE AND PRAY I CAN HAVE THE ATTITUDE & STRENGTH YOU DO.
