Hi Tony,

I'm 21 weeks with twins and I have had bad morning sickness ever since 6 weeks. Unfortunately that seems to come with a twin pregnancy. I am also constantly tired and in my first trimester was in bed at 8pm every night. I didn't/don't eat much as the nausea has taken away my appetite.

Come over and join us on the "double trouble" thread in the "pregnant after tmt" forum.

Best of luck,

Em

Since I am only a couple days shy of 8 weeks I'm not sure if I will get m/s or not but so far I feel great. My numbers are great and we saw 2 hb's so I shouldn't be nervous but I am a little. My Dr. says that it's nothing to fear but other than being tired I'm pretty normal. Hope your wife is feeling better soon!

The double trouble thread is great. . . come on over!!!

Just wanted to say congratulations to you and your wife. Seeing the heartbeats is a massive step - although I know it's hard not to worry.

As for your wife's symptoms, although I only have one beanie in there, I have suffered from horrendous vomitting, nausea and lack of appetite, but it's nothing to worry about. Despite being hospitalised from dehydration at one point, our 21 week scan showed a wonderful baby boy that measured bigger than it should be - it managed to find the nutrients to grow even though I was so ill. In fact, his size and clearly very efficient placenta was probably the reason I was so ill! I'm still throwing up at 22 weeks, but it is much better.
Look after your wife, wait on her hand and foot, make her eat and drink small amounts every 2 hours and if she doesn't want to get out of bed all day, then that's probably a good thing. Just look after those precious ones!!
I am so pleased for you both

hi tony

I did not get much morning sickness i was only sick about 3 or 4 times the only time i really felt sick hot and terrible was when i did not eat when my body was telling me to so i tried to eat small amounts often like a couple of rich tea biscuits first thing in the morning and little snacks through the day i liked to be out in the fresh air alot little walks are nice as was advised by my doctor as carrying a twin pregnancy is a little harder on the body after about 18 weeks i did not get sick at all. i did get tired alot by the end of the day i just wanted to go to bed 10pm i would be asleep.

i hope your wife feels better soon it will hopefully get better and not worse if you want any other advice feel free to ask

take care

Hi Tony

I haven't been here for ages........busy with my baby etc. but I just popped in and saw your post, I am soooo happy for you and your wife.

I had quite severe cramping at the beginning, like bad period pain. Kept expecting it to arrive but instead got a bfp. It carried on for a few weeks. Its perfectly normal, I know heaps of people who had it. My baby is 9 weeks old now.
my acupuncturist told me to use moxa around my belly, something you burn just around and it got rid of the cramps every time.
my biggest symptom was feeling sooo tired, so much I could hardly do a thing most days for about 11 weeks.

Wishing you a happy and healthy nine months and beyond!
love terri

Yes its normal symptoms. Everyones different but I was similar to your wife.........very very tired, nauseous and ate quite a bit. It was quite funny, I would throw up and then say 'whats for dinner!' Eating made me feel better. Sometimes I'd be out and have to stop off at my mums on the way home to pinch some of her food to make me feel better! And it was normally unhealthy food too, I went off veges for most of the time.
But the tiredness was just unbelievable, the only thing I can compare it to is really bad jet lag when you just don't have the energy to do anything and you can hardly keep your eyes open.
My acupuncturist told me to do less and I had to laugh at my husbands response. he said 'if she does any less she'll stop breathing!'
luckily he was sympathetic! I'd get up, walk the dog and then that would be it for the day!
