Lisa, I really feel for you... Almost every night I have dreams of bleeding, miscarrying. It's horrible but since I've been through it, I believe it's something I just have to ride out. I'm sure the possibility of a blighted ovum feels all the more real and terrible since you've been through that.... I'm sending you warm thoughts and courage to wait until your scan - I know it's the most anxiety-provoking thing. Luckily not all women have a lot of symptoms and still go on to have wonderful, healthy pregnancies. Until last week I didn't have much of anything either, but my scan was fine. Best of luck, sweetie, we're here for you!! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Girls,

Thanks for replying and reassuring me. I feel loads better today too.
I went out with one of friends today that had 2 miscarriages and then 2 boys. She told me that she had more sickness on the ones she miscarried and only nausea on the boys. No sore boobs on either of the pregnancies except in the first few weeks. I have nausea all the time and tiny twinges but just not the sore boobs. They have swollen though and look like a road map of Britain.

Hi ladies I am a new preggie and just wanted to pop in I am due Nov 3rd. I hope I am not imposing but, I am having an issue with funding for my meds and I am here to beg of assistance is anyone can help me. I am using Crinone 8% Progesterone Gel Suppositories. And they are very expensive!!!! I suppose to stay on them til the end of March and I was wandering if any of you ladies happen to have any they could spare.
Please don't think I am a bum, I was signed up with a drug program, and because of complications with cycle, I had to spend more money than was first thought to be needed and now my resources are exhausted and the program will not pay anymore. If you have any Crinone or maybe know someone who does please let me know. You can PM me if you would like.
Thank you ladies for your patience, I look forward to hearing from you!!!

Hi everyone

Can I join you? I have my first scan tomorrow and I am so nervous! Were you nervous before your first scan? Apart from doing 5 HPTs (!) I have all the symptoms, nausea, tiredness, swollen veiny boobs, but I still can't believe that its actually happening. I so want everything to be ok tomorrow. Its my best friend's wedding on Saturday so I hope it will be a double celebration!

Welcome Emma! I'm sure many of us know exactly how you feel - at least I was a nervous wreck before my first scan and still am, even after having seen a heartbeat :) I hope you'll be able to bring DH tomorrow and you'll have a great moment seeing your little one for the first time! Good luck sweetie...

Hi everyone

Well, we had the scan on Friday and we definately have one in there, in the right place, with a heartbeat. She thought she saw another sac but wasn't sure so we have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks to double check.

We are so relieved I can't tell you. Its amazing to see it on the screen, and see that little flickering heart!

Welcome Ems and mominwaiting! Glad you could join us. Ems that so exciting that you might have 2! Good luck with the next scan.

Mominwaiting sorry I can't help you with the meds - I did a totally natural DI tmt. Did you get any luck? Did anyone Pm you saying they could help?

Lisa/macca - I'm so sorry to hear about the bad dreams. I can't imagine what you have previously gone through - it is only natural that you are feeling so anxious. I feel anxious every day and that's without any previous experiences! Good luck on Wednesday with the u/s. Be sure to keep us posted. PS my bb's also look like a road map of the UK!

rea76 I am so glad your bleeding has cleared up - what a relief! Hope dh is taking extra care of you. Can I ask you what exercise you do? I have always been a gym bunny up until getting my BFP but a combination of tiredness and being scared! has meant that I have done nothing in the last 5 wks! I am planning on going swimming after my next scan but would like to maybe do more so I was just curious what you did

Kholtan -how weird - someone wanting to deliver your little ones. Think I would be staying well clear. Its funny how being pg seems to make everyone think they can stick their nose in and say whatever they want - do they ever ask if their advice is welcome??!!

Julie - nice that you are gate crashing our thread - sorry to hear that you lost a little one early on. How is baby Hendricks?

Thanks for all the msgs about the MIL and her big mouth! I haven't spoken to her since - needing a bit of time out to calm down! I now have my date for the big 12wk scan - yikes! - its on 27th March.

Wishing you all a nice chilled out Sunday xx

Lisa, you asked about my exercise routine. In my last pregnancy I did much more as I'm also a gym bunny and found it very hard to give it up. This time, though, it's been somehow easier to take it really easy. I've found that a good preg exercise rhythm for me is to exercise 3 (or 4 tops) times a week. If I only go three times, I do the following: two of the times I do light, low-impact cardio (walking/stationary bike) for only 30 mins and then I finish up with light muscle exercises. Prior to pregnancy I would always go through my whole program but now I divide it into two and only do half at a time and cut those down to a bare minimum too (about 4 different types of exercises - only short, single sets). So that's another 10-30 mins of light muscle toning/stretching. Furthermore, I've brought all the weights to minimum - big muscle groups (lunges, squats etc) I actually do using my own weight only. So, keeping it extra light but still challenging my body a little bit, as that helps me feel better with the tiredness and nausea. Then my third time is just cardio - about a 30 min brisk walk during which I carry tiny weights to flex my upper body every couple of minutes. That makes the walk a little bit more demanding but naturally I keep my HR under 140 at all times.

Whoops, that was a long explanation  But I guess it describes quite well how I, too, have really agonized over this and am striving to do the right thing for both my body and the baby. This seems so little and so light in comparison to "normal" exercise", but I've found it works quite well for me as long as I can find a good non-nauseous moment to go :D Swimming is a great way to go; personally I just get so bored doing that. Maybe when the spring comes in earnest I'll start swimming samll laps in our courtyard pool for light cardio. I'd also like to try prenatal yoga later but otherwise I'm steering clear of instructed exercise sessions - it just kills me that I can't do all the jumping etc ;)

Good luck with finding the right balance for you!!

THanks rae for the info. That sounds really sensible what you are doing. Now that my tiredness is lifting a bit I am thinking of getting back to some light exercise. Problem I have having at the moment is that I have given up my gym prescription as it was costing £52 per month (80 euros per month) so I stopped it to save mone as part of paying off the debts before the baby comes along and also thought it was an awful lot to pay if I wasn't going to be going to classes etc. So because we are just getting out of winter here it is dark by 6 30pm so when I get home from work I can't go walking which only leaves the weekend - dh and I have planned walks for sundays but the weather has been so miserable we haven't manged yet. So I am hoping to go swimming in the sports facilites within the new secondary school behind my house. I have put on 6lbs already!! - I am outraged - I am sure it is because of the lack of exercise. Any way I shouldn't be moaning. I could put on 14 lbs by this stage and I'd still just be so grateful for being preg in the first place!!

Macca - good luck 2mro with the scan xxx

Lisa, I hear you - I did the exact same thing with my gym membership! :D Luckily we have a small gym in our apartment complex so I can go there for free plus spring is already here, so outdoors walks are quite pleasant (which they won't be in the summer....)

Macca, good luck with your scan! I also have an apptmt w/ my OB tomorrow. exciting and scary at the same time

Hi all,

I had my 8 week scan today and yes I have double trouble. My jaw nearly hit the floor when she said "and theres the other one". Both healthy heartbeats, although they didn't tell us the rate but they said they are both perfect. They signed us off on to a midwife now and we see her next Monday. They were really cute, one was lying back chilling out and the other was up.

I barely have any symptoms. I get some morning sickness in the afternoon but not horrendous and I've had some headaches. No sore boobs or anything like that.

Rae - you lucky thing having a gym in your apartment complex. Sounds like heaven! I have thought that I might get some light hand weights and go power walking with my i pod on when the lighter nights come in soon! How did your appt go today?

Congrats, Macca! Double trouble, wow!!

Lisa, the gym downstairs is heaven sent, really. And once the weather warms a bit more, I can start making good use of our big pool, too. At least there are some perks in living in Dallas :D

My appt went great - I saw my doctor's PA, got all kinds of info and had an exam & u/s. All was perfect and DH got to see the baby and hear the HB for the first time. Awww.... I'm going back tomorrow for some blood work (they forgot today....) and my next appointment will be in three weeks, by which time I'll be over that magical 12 weeks if all goes well so far.

How are you feeling?

WOOOOOHOOOO LISA!!!!!! Another mother expecting twins!!! How are you feeling about that? We still can't believe it! Some people say they were nervous and others are just plain excited. We were a little surprised and kept saying "twins. . . twins. . . .twins" for a few days! My father says twins are very cost efficient for IVF! :D Good luck to you and I'm really happy for you!!!!
