Need advice and encouragement on 2nd week of 2WW!! Pls help

Post by Michelle J »

Hi ladies, this is my 3rd time for ET (1 frozen egg only). 1st (Nov 06) & 2nd time (Jan 06), both with 3 top-grade embies put in but failed. The doctor had said I would have high chance of sucess but could not figure out the reason for the failure.

Today is my 9th day after ET and I will have my blood test on 3/8/07 (Thur). I feel more relaxed this time although I know that the chance of success should be lower than before with only 1 frozen egg inside.

Just want to know what you ladies feel physically on the 2nd week after ET. Should there be any sypmtoms (e.g. cramping, sored breast etc.) ? I started to feel nothing from yesterday and am quite eager to know if this is normal. I felt nothing too on the 2nd week for the last 2 times and they turned out to be failed. So I am getting worried.

F.y.i. Me 37, DH 46
3 IUIs done in 2006 with medication - failed.
2 ETs done in Nov 06 & Jan 07 - failed

Michelle,
I am also in my 2WW after ET on 2/27. I really don't have any symptoms. It seems like I might have a "pulling" feeling sometimes when I get up and some slight cramping on either side of my lower abdomen. No sore breasts or anything like that.
This waiting is awful though! I will have my test a week from tomorrow. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Lots and lots of luck! Stay positive!

Hi gigialex,

Thanks a lot for your encouragement. Yeh, the waiting feels like ages and I have been trying my best not to think about it. Anyway, I have 6 more days to go. We'll see.....

How about both of us get a positve blood test result together this time? Lots and lots of luck and suport to you! Let's stay positive together.

Hi, I'm also in my 2ww, ET on 26th Feb, testing on 9th March, which feels like an eternity away. Can't stop obsessing about symptoms, but keep thinking it's too soon to have symptoms and it's probably the meds (Duphaston and Cyclogest). I still feel really bloated, always needing the loo and can't stop eating. 4 days after ET had really bad pelvic pains which could have been implantation??? wishful thinking I know. This week has been torture and I've still got another to go! I had 2 embies transferred, so then I start thinking, in twin pregnancies the symptoms are exaggerated and show earlier, I would love to have twins. I won't be testing early cause I know thats just setting myself up for dissappointment but the wait is driving me crazy! Hope you girls are holding up better than me.

Michelle-
A positive result together sounds like a great idea to me too (and to Kessa also). I feel like I am looking for symptoms, but really I don't have any. I am super protective of my entire abdominal area and am moving around very carefully (I am a natural born CLUTZ!). I am so glad to be in a 2ww with you girls. Hopefully we will all have good results at the end of next week. Happy thoughts!!

Beta 3/12
:D Hi Ladies...may I join in? I'm just starting week 2 of my 2ww. My ET was on 2/24. We had 5 embies, but only 4 looked good. Of the 4 they were all very small. The 2 largest were ONLY 4-cells....yikes! Any input on 4-cell embies??????
Thanks, Cherry

Can I join you? I'm on my 3rd FET (natural, no meds). I got 2 grade A embies put in and my test date is 9/3. I had good grade embies put in before and it was BFN so I guess Im not sure if this will work at all

Good luck to all of you

Cherry how many days old were your embies when they transferred them? Day 2 transfer they are usually 4 cell

Kristy and Cherry,
Glad to hear from you both! I think the more "ladies in waiting" we have, the better! I have little knowledge as far as size of embies and cell numbers or anything like that. I am a nurse and am so used to having to have answers for my patients, that I wanted to be the patient this time. I asked very few questions and just did whatever they told me! Now I feel dumb!!!! I wish you both all of the luck in the world and am saying lots of prayers for all of us.
xoxo, gigi

Welcome you all girls,

It's soooo good to know that we are having a team. This is my 3rd FET (1 grade one egg with 8 cells, 3 days old with assisted hatching) This is the last chance of my first IVF course. If I fail, I have to start EC again. I really don't want to do it  If I have to, I will wait for 2-3 more cycles. OK, I know I should think positively......

It seems that I will be the first one having the test (coming Thur), I hope I can bring some good news to you.

Let's keep our fingers and toes crossed. Lots and lots of luck to us all.

OK, fellow 2 week watiers...
I am getting a little paranoid about what level of activity I should have right now. My clinic put me on 72hr bedrest which was over yesterday. So now I am not used to activity and I just don't want to jeopardize anything. Also, my ET was on 2/27--does anyone know what date I might anticipate any "light bleeding" from implantation? Have any of you had any?
Just wondering...
Thanks for your help :?

Hi There...I am also on the 2 ww. My transfer was on 2/26...this was my first one (hopefully my last!) Does anyone know if we should be experiencing any symptoms if we are pregnant? I have my pregnancy test on the 12th and I am a nervous wreck!!! It is nice to have other women to talk to who are also going through the same thing!

Hi Ladies,

May I join too...
I had my ET on 2/24 and now on the dreaded 2WW for the first time. This after 1 failed cycle and the 2nd cycle half way ( failed fertilization). Had 2 embies transferred on the 24th Feb. The D-day is on 3/8.
Any symptoms that I should be looking for? My breasts are a bit tender but also having some v-discharge after I take the estrace med. ( vaginally ). Not sure if the discharge is related to the meds. or something else.
Anyways....wish you all the very best!

Hi Jen and Jahan,
I think some have mild symptoms and some don't have any from what I have read. are different for everybody. For the most part, breast tenderness and some mild cramping are about it. That's what I am having anyway. Jahan, I don't know about the discharge (are you taking any meds vaginally?). Anyway, lots and lots of luck to both of you. My test is the 9th. Happy thoughts!

Hey Gigalex,

I am taking the estrace and Prometrium vaginally. I have been taking these pills vaginally right after the ET two times a day.

Lets hope for the best and yes as you said...with happy thoughts!

Hi Jahan,

I am also taking the pills vaginally and have some discharge. The doctor said it is normal. Don't worry.

I had brownish discharge (implantation bleeding I hope) on the 3rd day after ET for 2 days and have on and off mild crampling. Yesterday (D11 after ET), I started to have breast tenderness.

I try not to care too much about the symptoms though cos they may be because of the drug effects. I had all sorts of symptoms during the last 2 times but they didn't work. So, I don't believe in symtpoms anymore.

Let's wait patiently for the test.

Mi
