Only have a minute.... but real quick...

Angie: fab that those follies have kicked it into gear... Fri is better than Sun, no?

All right... in honor of Jenn's 80's party... thought i would pass this on to you sistas... heeheehee
*************************
A pleasant trip down memory lane...

You know you grew up in the 80's if......

1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE."

2. You can sing the rap to the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and can do the
"Carlton."

3. Girls wore biker shorts under their skirts and felt stylishly sexy.

4. Two words: Hammer Pants.

5. You wore a ponytail on the side of your head.

6. You made your mom buy one of those clips that would hold your shirt in a
knot on the side.

7. You wore stone washed Jordache jean jackets and were proud of it.

8. L.A.Gear....need I say more?

9. You remember reading "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" and all the Ramona
Quimby books.

10. You know the profound meaning of "WAX ON, WAX OFF."

11. You ever wore fluorescent clothing. (Some of us...head-to-toe).

12. You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell
off and his cheeks shifted.

13. You still get the urge to say "NOT" after every sentence.

14. You ever owned a pair of Jelly-Shoes (and probably in neon colors, too).

15. After you saw "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" you kept saying "I know you are,
but what am I?

16. You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up."

17. You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates.

18. You ever got seriously injured on a Slip and Slide.

19. You have played with a Skip-It.

20. You had or attended a birthday party at McDonalds.

21. You've gone through this nodding your head in agreement.

22. "Don't worry, be happy."

23. You wore, like, EIGHT pairs of socks over tights with high top Reeboks.

24. You wore socks scrunched down (and sometimes still do).

25. You remember boom boxes.

26. You remember Alf, the li'l furry brown alien from Melmac.

27. You remember New Kids on the Block when they were cool.

28. You know all the words to Bon Jovi's "SHOT THROUGH THE HEART."

29. (You just sang those words to yourself.)

30. You remember watching Magic vs. Bird. Oh yeah............it will never
be that good again

31. Homemade Levi shorts... (The shorter the better.)

32. You remember when mullets were cool!

33. You had a mullet!

34. You still sing "We are the World."

35. You tight rolled your jeans.

36. You owned a banana clip.

37. You remember "Where's the Beef?

38. You used to (and probably still do) say "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?"

39. You had big hair and you knew how to use it.

You're still singing "Shot through the Heart" in your head, aren't you!!!

Hi ladies!
I just ran across the "sisterhood" chat and was hoping you had room for one more. I just sat here for the longest time reading all 38 pages and can honestly say, I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while!!!! You guys are so funny! I REALLY wish I would have found you for some "pick-me-up" in my tww!
While I can say I haven't been through near as much as some of you, my dh and I have been married for 9 years and ttc for almost 6. We have "unexplained infertility" and have done several IUI's with BFN's. Then we did our first IVF last month which was also a BFN. We have 2 frozen embies but due to my very unfortunate and extremely rare reaction to Progesterone, we're not sure yet if I'll be able to do another cycle or not.
Congratultions to ALL the BFP's in here. There are so many! I wish you guys all the best in the rest of your pregnancies.
All the BFN's ~ I'm sorry. I'm with ya now and our time will soon come!!!

Morning!
Welcome Nickster!!

Sassy I loved the list- Ahh the memories. I am totally putting SIKE! back into my vocab.
Has anyone got their shirt?? I think we should post a picture of ourself in it and then photoshop it together to look like we are all posing together! Is that possible???

Angie- i'm glad you have an EC date. Have you had to order more meds during all this? I stimmed for 12 days, had to order more, which meant more $$, which stressed me a little! It will be worth it in the end!

Wanna- I think DH and I decided last night no lap. for me this time. He is against any surgery the Dr. doesn't insist on. I see his point. That was not a fun surgery! How are you feeling? Any morning sicknes?

Ok- this weekend DH and I searched high and low for costumes. It wasn't very hard because 80's fashion is back in! He is wearing black pleather pants, a black rocker wig- it's all wild and mullet like, and he has a red shirt with a skull on it. He says he is going as Slash. I am wearing a big red top(probably going to cut it so it hangs off the shoulder) with a big belt and leggings that are black with lace at the bottom. I bought jelly bracelets, and...JELLY SHOES!!!! They are red. My sister has a crimper and we will crimp my hair. Does that sound good? I will post pictures next week.

Okey dokey i'm off to buy more ice cream. I ate a pint last night...

SIKE!!

HEE HEE I crack myself up!!
Jenn

Good Morning, Ladies

Ah, a lovely weekend. I am now back on line and I can finally reconnect with you.

A little news: I started Lupron last night, so I am officially shooting up, not quite hooked, but definitely going down that IVF garden path. Ohhh, my, my.

I came home last week to find the huge box of medicines on my porch with the Lupron buried inside. The nurse called Friday to remind me that I would be starting it Sunday night. So I dug it out and was relieved to see that the needles are small, at least they are in the beginning.

I was a little nervous about it. I used my nerves as an excuse to drink too much Disaronno Amaretto and burn a couple of Camel Lights. (I know, at this point you guys are going: “Oh my god, she is so stupid. She should be detoxing, not smoking, not drinking Italian liqueur flavored with herbs and fruits soaked in apricot kernel oil… duh! Coco, you stupid shit head what the f*ck are you thinking?!”)

And you are right.

But you are also my sisters, so shut it!

But seriously, in the spirit of confession and anonymity, I will admit that I was bad last night. But you know what, the shot did not hurt! And DH, actually came through in the clutch. I was impressed. A good first start.

Today I have a massage and tomorrow start acupuncture. I think that I hear a Viennese waltz playing somewhere. What tangled webs we weave when at first we conspire to conceive.

OK, our Dream House: I like the input that I am receiving. And yes, Fee you clearly will be our spokesperson to whom the keys to the house, the car and the city will be handed when we win. It truly will be all about you. (And our chances of winning are good, girls, because I entered every day on line and sent in 100 postcards that were all perfectly dog-eared, neon colored and sent from different mailboxes in different cities on different days.)

Amy, your smart son will be our resident snow fort building, experimenter, riddle reader, kite flyer. He will know where all the secret and hidden compartments in the library are.

Wanna, you definitely should hold the dildocam as a scepter for the televised special. If anybody messes with any of us, the scepter will drop down, reveal a chain, and the dildocam scepter instantly will become a fly state-of-the-art numb chuck set that can impale a whole room full of would be predators, stalkers, co-workers, whatever.
(Think Uma Thurman in Kill Bill.) Except no yellow part suits. We will wear Patie’s hot designs. (So love the sketches, Patie.)

So Sass: about that list. It scares me that I am old enough to be intimately reminiscent of all those things and they are all about 20 years old. This is for you, Sass:

First, when there's nothing but a slow glowing dream
That your fear seems to hide deep inside your mind
All alone I have cried silent tears full of pride
In a world made of steel, made of stone

Well I hear the music, close my eyes, feel the rhythm
Wrap around, take a hold of my heart

[Chorus:]
What a feeling, bein's believin'
I can't have it all, now I'm dancin' for my life
Take your passion, and make it happen
Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life

[Solo]

Now I hear the music, close my eyes, I am rhythm
In a flash it takes hold of my heart

[chorus (with ... "now I'm dancing through my life")]

What a feeling

What a feeling (I am music now), bein's believin' (I am rhythm now)
Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life
What a feeling (I can really have it all)
What a feeling (Pictures come alive when I call)
I can have it all (I can really have it all)
Have it all (Pictures come alive when I call)
(call, call, call, call, what a feeling) I can have it all
(Bein's believin') bein's believin'
(Take your passion, make it happen) make it happen
(What a feeling) what a feeling... [to fade]

Hey girls...

Nickster: welcome to the looney bin! I am impressed with your dedication to have waded through the last 38 pages!!! Yes, we are quite entertaining (at least to ourselves! ). Sorry to hear about your bfn.... and your rxn to progesterone??? wow. I am hoping they are able to work something out for you.

Patie: fab dress. You are quite the artist! I love the long bow in the back.

Amy: What are Bear Grylls??? And did dh make it back without falling through a frozen lake??

Jenn: i ordered my shirt, and expect it will get here later this wk. If everyone sends me pictures, i can probably figure out how to photoshop people around (i have the program, just haven't tried doing that yet...). I am liking your costume! I think you did a fab job... especially the jellies, and the crimped hair. OH my, does that bring back memories of awkward teenage years :?

Angie: When is your next follie check? Maybe tomorrow?

Meg: how ya' doing? that nausea starting to let up a bit yet?

In honor of Angie's question: places i have shot up..... airplane bathroom, church bathroom (many times), many times dh has given me IM shots in back seat of car on side of road, once did lupron in thigh at stop light (dh was driving).

Rested all wkend and it was great. So now back to work... hope you are all well.

Ooooooooooo Sassy, that list is soooo funny!!!. The Bon Jovi song, I couldn't stop singing it!!! and just the other day I was using the phrase "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?" ....guess I'm getting old..

Amy.....Sanson had his class yesterday, about whether he is the smartest or not...well, there are only 3 doggies in his class, one is a bulldog, the other is a "toy" something, and him, so it is not very difficult to be the smartest I guess....., but he is having a hard time learning the "heel", I say "heel" and he runs after another dog, and stuff like that, of course when I try it at home he does everything perfect, but in the outside world, were there are very interesting distractions, he just forgets about everything :?

Jenn....how was the ice cream??.....mmm Chunky Monkey!!..did you every try Karamel Sutra?.....that one is fab!!!. What is a smart bump??, is it the bone that protrudes in the top of their head sometimes??. What kind of dog do you have? (sorry if you already said it  ) BTW, that 80's parties sound great!!!, can we all go??

Ange....glad your follies have woken up!!, so EC on Friday, great!!!!.....

Nickster...welcome!!, wow you read the 38 pages!!!, that is amazing, hope we didn't bore you much...I didn't understand wether you are in the 2ww now or not, because first you said something about 2ww, but then said you had a reaction to PIO so you don't know if you can do it again (BTW what kind of reaction did you have?....)

Wanna...how are you feeling??, I know what you mean by worring all the time, I guess after your first scan you might feel a bit better and more relaxed...

Fee....where are you??......how are your virtual vacations going??

Meggo.....are you back??

I’m sitting here day dreaming about Sassy's list. Wow, those were the days. Remember fame?!?!?! I wanted to be on that show so bad.

Coco—Thanks for the song. I need to go dig out my leg warmers and head band! It’s funny that you mentioned Kill Bill and Uma Thurman. While watching that movie I imagined I was her while she was kicking butt. Especially when she was fighting Lucy Lu’s Clan. I’m weird like that. While watching movies, I pretend to be the character. It makes me feel empowered. lol

nickster—Wow, I can’t believe you took the time to read all 38 pages. Anyone who did that is nuts and deserves to be in here with the rest of the crazies. Welcome! Welcome! Damn that really sucks about your reaction to the progesterone. Now did you have a reaction to the form of progesterone you were taking or will you have that reaction to progesterone period. What form of progesterone were you taking?

Patie—Let me know what you think of the Secret. I watched it again yesterday. Sassy—You know what you are absolutely right about the Secret.. They basically did say that you’re thinking is why you are in the situation you are in now. I must have totally missed it last time or just ignored it….which I think I’m going to continue to do.

Jenn—I’m glad you and dh came to an agreement. It’s funny, you guys sound just like us (me and my dh). We decided not to do it once the dr said he didn’t think it was necessary. But like you..I wanted the surgery until he said that. Nope, it was not a fun surgery at all and I had it 3 times. What was I thinking?!?!? And like I said, thought about having it again after last BFN Love the costumes! Can’t wait to see pictures. Does your shirt have sleeves? If so, what about cutting the rips in the sleeves.

Vicky—At least you take your dog to classes. We decided to home school ours. lol Now when we tell him to sit down he will sit day or lie down. He doesn’t even know the difference. Guess he figures he is not standing so he’s down. lol Nerves are still a mess. Read below for the synopsis. lol

As far as me, LOVE being pregnant hate the nauseous that I sometimes feel. I’m not eating enough because half the time I’m not hungry. Then when I am hungry, I am violently hungry and if I don’t eat right away I feel sick. Then when I cook I don’t want what I cooked. Like right now I am sitting here forcing myself to eat the meal I prepared last night for my lunch. It’s parmesan garlic sauce, with whole grain pasta, spinach and chicken. Trying to be healthy for the little ones. I wanted it so bad all weekend. Now that I have it in front of me, I don’t want it and it’s actually good. Go figure. Personally I think it’s too early to have these issues. I’m only 4 weeks and 3 days. Now that I have taken 4 bites, I don’t want anymore. But I know this baby (or babies) needs to eat. Maybe I’ll go get some ice cream. Other than the weird appetite issues, I’m good. I thought I was going to throw up last night. I chewed some gum and it went away. I’ve now stocked up on Tums, peppermints, and spearmint gum. I changed my appointment to go back to see Dr. Smelly Fingers on Wednesday. Just found out that boss is going to be away Tuesday and Wednesday so decided to change my appointment. Might as well be out of the office when he is. He can’t look for me if he’s not here.

Vicky- our dog is a mut. They told us at the pound she was part german shep., part terrier. She is white with brown spots and A LOT of hair. In other words looks nothing like what they told us she was! I'll try and post a pic. on photobucket. Wish me luck! the bump is like on her forhead i guess. The vet told us horses have them, and they call them smart bumps! They really are because she is brilliant if I do say so myself!

I went to store to get more ice cream and got New York choc. chunk or something like that.

Aunty- if you are popping in- I saw your ticker about a house. Have you found one yet? Did you sell your house, are you in a house now??

Our digital cable comes with an 80's channel. DH and I listened all weekend. I knew all the words. He was impressed. He's a computer geek and I don't think he listened to the radio as a child because he did not know any songs. So sad!!

Bye for now!
Jenn

Thanks for the fuzzy welcome! You guys are great!!!
I took Progesterone suppositories ~ 600mg 2x a day. I started getting a rash on my chest after the first couple days of taking them, but I really didn't think that much of it (and certainly didn't relate it to the Prog.). By the time I was nearing the end of my 2ww the terribly itchy rash & hives had spread all over my whole body, including my face!! It was the most miserable I think I had ever been. I went to my primary care doc on the 26th which was the same day I took my beta. He said I was DEFINITELY majorly allergic to something I was taking and gave me a script for Prednisone (of course pending a BFN). I called after I got out of there and found out I had a BFN, and explained to them what happened. They wanted me to re-test in two days, to keep taking the Prog., and not start the Prednisone until then. WHAT???? Now, if I would have had the slightest bit of a BFP I maybe could have dealt with it, but my beta was TOTALLY negative. They finally "agreed" to let me take the Prednisone but wanted me to keep taking the Prog. and re-test. I stopped the Prog. because AF was already here and like I said I could not have been more MISERABLE. It was awful. I couldn't sleep and I even missed a couple days of work before I went to the Dr. because the way it was spreading, I wasn't sure if it was contagious (I am a nurse and work with newborn babies). Thank GOD the Prednisone worked. Of course all the Dr's I have talked to have never heard of this so I am going to talk to my OB when he gets back in town.
Sassy~ I feel for ya on those Lupron headaches! I don't miss those a bit. Those are the worst!
Wannababy~ I'm sorry your so sick. When do you go for your first US?

Coco: to be honest, i don't remember having a headaches this bad last cycle on lupron (or maybe i just blocked it out  ). For all i know this headache has nothing to do with the lupron, but don't know what else to blame it on, and have had it now for 3 days... so lupron is the lucky sucker. As i started lupron about the time i started AF this month, hard to say when the lupron part started (i get real bad menstrual headaches, but they only last about 24 hrs). I know that a lot of women just get a dull, mild headache with the lupron (which i think is what i had last time :? ). I am hoping you don't get this blinding MF of a HA!!!!! btw... i am aware this is a totally rambling mess... sorry, head hurts too bad to really focus on producing nice, efficient, concise and eloquent sentences :?

Nickster: your prog reaction sounds horrid. I'm hoping that they could have you do PIO instead? so glad to hear the prednisone did it's job!
