Hi Girls, Just to update you, been for my scan today. So far have 9 follies (snap Hayley !). Womb lining is currently 8mm (don't know if this is good or not) and everything seems Ok. I'm a little bit disappointed as I expected more ( had 9 follies last time and they had increased the dosage of Menopur this time to try and get more) DH says I'm mad as it's quality not quantity that counts and I know he's right but can't help how I feel. Have another scan on Friday to check everything OK, if so EC may be on Monday. Feeling a bit grotty at the moment, my stomach has gone absolutely enormous and I keep getting the most horrendous headaches but trying to keep the old PMA up!! I love nail art and am currently occupying myself by decorating my nails a different colour and style every day! Still considering trying acupuncture or reflexology. Have any of you tried it and if so at what point during treatment did you have it? How is everyone doing, how many of us are left to test ? Lots of Love Julie xx

Jules Great, we should be testing around the same time, moral support for each other. I felt like that, only 9 follies and the hospital said same to me to, quality not quantity. It still did not make me feel any better, especially knowing some of the other girls have had a lot, lot more. At the moment I can not even do my trousers up, my stomach is so bloated and snap, I had bad pains in my head, one side was always worse than the other. Loads and loads of PMA to everyone who will be testing soon! Glad everything was ok with your scan. Love Hayley XX

Hi girls Just checking in, thanks for my own thread Hayley, I test on Wednesday by blood so I will get the result around 2pm. I have to say I am s*****g myself, this waiting is torture I’m impatient at the best of times. I’m at home this week I had a really sleepless weekend after my scary pain on Saturday and felt like s**t this morning so I decided I am safer at home. Becky -Are you ok hun? Hayley good luck for EC, I’ll be thinking of you and your nice juicy eggies. Jules – 9 follies so far, that’s fab on my first scan I had 3 and I managed 9 good eggs. I had a bloated tummy I had to go to work in tracksuit, hope your head feels better. I had reflexology to help me relax its tops. Traci – How are you today? I guess you will be card making to try and keep your mind occupied. Vicki BXX

Hi guys best of luck Hayley with your ec tomorrow. don't worry about nr of follies, you'll be fine, it really is quality not quantity - you know that from my story of the 2 remaining embies (out of 31 eggs!). ambar - so very sorry. have posted a message for you on your thread. vicki - have posted a message for you on other thread. Jules - not long now till ec! Traci, dolly, hope you are continuing to put your feet up and relax. I have to say though that I always thought that if I was ever lucky enough to get a +ve the worry would stop there. i have to advise that this is a total myth. Today has been one hell of a rollercoaster as didn't get the hcg results until 5:50pm!!! By that stage I was climbing up the wall imagining all sorts of horrific scenarios eg that results had gone down and they were having to retest, that they'd discovered they'd made a mistake about my results on sat and didn't know how to tell me etc etc. turns out the lab sent all the results through only at 3pm and they were one doctor down at my clinic so that was why it was all delayed. I'm ok so far in that the levels have doubled which is what they are supposed to do but going back in again on Wed to make sure that they double again. This is very much like the wait between ec and et!! Shall have to get my relaxation tape out me thinks. beckym xxx

Oh Becky you poor thing These clinics sometimes make the whole process harder, I am trying to keep PMA but have a gut feeling that it hasnt worked! dont know why perhaps I will feel different tomorrow , I have a headache today which I normally get when AF is due which in my calculation is wednesday (tomorrow ) I am only on Day 6 after ET . I cant calculate when AF would be due realy as I havent Ovulated This month I need to find out from anyone who has had FET with the dredded --- result to find out! anyway we will be lighting our own candels with the nerves coming from our bodies!! Hi everyone Well we have been for our followup at the clinic today and Iam soooooooooo pleased to say that we are having our NHS go at ivf in Jan its been a brill birthday present for me as Iam 26 today!! I asked about other tests but she said that they only do tests when we have had 3 fresh failed cycles I asked that if we failed this time could we have tests done and they have agreed,I also asked about taking baby asprin and she said it didnt do any harm,so next time instead of taking fertility plus vits I am going to take asprin,as any one else toke asprin and when do you start taking it? Hows everyone else? Traci Ive just had a -fet and my af started on the Weds we got our neg on the monday before,but my af wasnt due til the week after I think my af started because I stopped taking the pessaries,keep the positive thinking up. Vicki good luck for tomorrow,I'l be thinking of you. Well I'm off to enjoy my birthday night!! Love Gemxx

so it came earlier because you had a neg then stopped taking pesseries is that correct? did you test after 14 days ?

Hi Girlies Just thought I would bring this to the top. Where is everyone??!! Vicki - any news yet? Traci - how are you feeling? Dolly - not long now! Ambar - thinking of you Hayley - how are you doing? good luck with ET Backy - whats it like on the other side! Sorry if I've missed anyone. Getting quite confused now as we seem to have morphed with NCBs! I'm not feeling too bad today, have been watching Baby Doctors on Discovery Health each morning (its about Bourne Hall fertility clinic if you haven't seen it) It's quite good but a little depressing, I have cried during every episode so far. Got my second scan tommorrow, hope my 9 follies have continued to grow and maybe some more have appeared. Love and luck to everyone Julie xx

I am going to test next wednesday and then on Friday if you include ET as day 1 that will be me testing on day 15 and 17 . well tomorrow I will be making more christmas cards and then sat we are going to Weymouth to see DH Dad then back on sunday , make more cards on monday then WORK Tuesday . I think I have had my bored days now. Trace x

Hi guys gem - really great news about your NHS go in Jan. you can relax and enjoy your Xmas now with that to look forward to. re the aspirin - I took and am still taking bay aspirin and 2 heparin injections a day to thin the blood to the uterus. this started day after ec. however, I think this is because I have a clotting agent in my blood which would otherwise restrict blood flow to the uterus. Your doctor should be able to do a blood test to check whether you need to take aspirin or not. If your blood is thin enough already I guess it may do more harm than good, so best to get test done first. traci - don't lose hope girl as we all had af pains, you know that. ignore all pains in the stomach region!!! have a look at your boobs for veins that you can see through the surface plus boobs feel a bit more lumpy with milk ducts starting to form. this is a better indication, but then again not everyone gets that either at this early stage. re testing I did a hpt yesterday and it came up positive but not staggeringly bright blue or anything and it took ages for the vertical line to come in after the horizontal one (Clear Blue) and this was on day 16 after et. i'm pretty sure now that had I checked on day 12 or 14 I would still have come up as negative. i know that Lisa had this experience too hpt testing on day 12 (negative) and she had an hcg level of 200 on that day, which is quite high, so you have been warned! don't think they pick up hcg less that 210 or something and you only need 25 to be positive!!! point is, you may still test on day 15 and get a negative even if you are pregnant. Jules - not long now. next week will go very quickly indeed and then you'll be on the 2ww!! other side is weird. not nearly as active as over here, but I'll soon have them ship-shape!! I think it's because everyone is at such different stages. Am starting to really worry about Bel (who you may remember was one of the first to test +ve amongst the OCBs) as haven't heard from her since she was due for her first scan. Am just really worried that they didn't find a sac, which I know can happen, though is still rare. God, that would just be so unfair as she has been through so much already. HI Girls I'm back feeling OK and still in shock my scan is the 9th Dec. tonight will be my last pessarie as I only have to take them for 15 nights at 400mg. Beckym - How are you? are you still going back for regular blood tests, my clinic don't want me back until my scan. I'm too scared to go over to the other side until after my scan. I also have been looking out for Belinda and am getting quite concerned. Gem - fantastic news 2004 will be your year. I hope you had a good birthday. Traci - Please don't worry about AF pains I know its hard, I had pains and some spotting and my clinic told me pains and light spotting are OK. Please do not do HPT I started doing tests when I had some spotting and got both negative and positive. My boobs don't look or feel any different. Keep postive BIG Hugs. Hi guys hope you are all well and keeping up the old PMA. Traci - getting so close now. will be lighting my candles for you on Tues night!! I am so hoping you will come over with me. i would be so, so happy for that to happen. Hayley - you ok? haven't heard from you for a few days vicki - know what you mean about not posting on the other side until the scan in case you jinx it, but needed to ask all these questions and, what the hell, if the scan goes belly up at least I will have got to post for two weeks on the other side!!! don't have to do any more blood tests, just the three consecutive ones to make sure the levels were doubling up but perhaps they don't do this if your initial levels are high anyway as Lisa didn't have to do three either. yeah, bel is a bit of a concern. I have been veering between optimism and despair re the odds on the first scan, but trying to convince myself that with the +ve test the odds of a good outcome have now risen to 70-80% which is better than we've had it before. will we get a post from Dolly before Monday, as think she logs in at work? beckym xxx
