Ok I have a question. Is it possible for me to have the Dr do Icsi? Although they said my husband's sperm is fine, I fear that his sperm won't fertilize my eggs. I know I have a month or so to be worrying about all of this stuff, but I want things to go right the first time.
The only thing keeping me from getting pregnant is my blocked tubes. The Dr did say there were some antibodies in hubbies sperm but that wouldn't hurt anything because of IVF....
I am hoping and praying for all of you. We can all get pregnant around the same time and then start talking about our Pregnancies!!!!

thanks for your mail. the only change they are making is upping the initial stimmulation dose. The problem last time was that they started me on too lower dose and my body didn't really react and I only had 4 follicles growing. When they upped my dose, I suddenly had another 21 follicles trying to catch up. They kept me on stimms for 16 days in the hope that some of the 21 would catch up but they didn't. At that point my oestrogen levels were so high that i was close to hyper stimmulation and so they went to egg retrieval. The 4 big follicles were over mature (dark and grainy) and didn't fertilise (even with ICSI) and the others were all too immature. I thought that they would change the protocol this time but they seem happy to keep it the same just starting with the higher dose. I have to say that I am worried stupid but as my DH keeps saying they are the experts and I have to trust them - i guess i have no choice!

Rebecca - Wow you are a long way from home! How come you left sunny Yorkshire? I know its hard not to question your clinic when it went wrong for you the first time - but they do know what they are doing. It sounds as though you reacted well to the higher dose in your 1st cycle - albeit too late for them to catch up. It sounds to me like starting on the higher dose should give you much more success. Keeping everything crossed for you! Lol.
Donna- I don't really know the answer I'm afraid. My guess is no they wouldn't if there is nothing wrong with your DH's sperm and I have a feeling they wouldn't do it on your first attempt if there is no problem. Why are you worried they won't fertilise? I know its natural to worry when so much is at stake - but you need to try to stay positive.
It wouldn't hurt to ask your clinic and find out what they say?
Maybe someone else on the thread can help?

work took me over here - I work for adidas and the US HQ is based here. It's really beautiful but at the moment the rain clouds of east yorkshire seem to be pulling!
Hi Donna, I 'm not an expert but I think as long as you consent to ICSI then the doctor will do the procedure IF they see no "regular" fertilisation. I didn't expect them to do ICSI in our case but they did what was needed to try and get the result. Unfortunately for us it didn't help.

The hormones have kicked in!!!! I dont mind really, as at least i know somethings working!!!!
I ran off crying (like a big baby) today when a customer gave me grief, normally i would of taken it on the chin, but this guy sent me to tears, and then i had to explain to my assistant manager why??? Oh dear!!!! ( only my line manager know's at work!) so i said sorry and told her it was time of the month!!! LOL!!!!
AnywayDH has been a rock!!! I love him so much, I did cry over him this evening too, when he told me i'd left the light on in our bedroom!!!!
But he was full of hugs, and i was just crying!!!

Hi Everyone,
Spoke with my clinic today and they told me i might miss out on this cycle because i had troubles with the BCP's. i am very angry because i told them before i went on it, it didn't agree with me
. So hopefully i ovulate i have to have a blood test on the 19th if i have ovulated i will start the nasal spray on the 20th.
Hopeful2007-Welcome,i did the same for a while got on to read the post then i joined because everyone is so helpful and you feel part of something is stead of feeling like the one left out.
Niki-Hope to be starting my nasal spray soon has it made you feel sick? have heard it can make you cry at the drop of a hat, this will be a change for me because i am not one that cries often and definitely not infront of people. But bring it on can not wait to start and see something is happening least if i am crying something is working like you say.
Everyone is getting that little bit closer even though is seems to take forever.

Nicki - sorry the hormones are making you cry. They did me the same way last time. I would go from crying to rage in a second. Our poor DHs. Just warn him that it will probably get worse before it's over.... It's all worth it though.

Well guess what? AF FINALLY ARRIVED!!!
So in about 26 days, if AF arrives in her normal fashion, I'll be starting IVF. I do the short protocal so I start out on the stims, no BCP's or Lupron. Thanks to all that did the dance for me!
