Hi Nicki

I'm diabetic and inject 4 times a day and always find it less painful in my tummy - maybe because there is so much more flab there!

Best of luck with your treatment

Hey Nicki-
Already researching away I see!! I  may confuse you with what I do but I actually use both :? ...I used my tummy for downregging injections and once I added the Stimms I moved to my thigh for those. I was worried about using my leg because I'm pretty muscular and didn't think I'd have as much skin to pinch but the needle really isn't that bad.

One thing to note is that I've found my Stimm medicine burns a little going in and afterwards and it really helps to apply a heating pad on the injection site. I had heard not to use a heating pad on my tummy because it may hurt the eggs...not sure if that is a myth  but it's one of the reasons why I chose thigh for my Stimms.

Just play around for a few days and you will figure out what works best for you. Good luck!!!! :)

Hey Nicki-

I prefer the tummy. But I am a wuss and put an ice pack on the area that is about to get shot. So that way I never feel a thing!

good luck!

Hi Nicki

I always use my thigh, at the top sort of 'round the side-ish, its my fattest part.
Good luck!

Hi

I am a real needle phobe tried my tummy and found it hurt to much!!
The tummy has less nerve endings than the thigh (apparently).

I was black and blue thought the quicker and harder i plunged needle
in to my thigh the pain would be over quicker(eyes closed also).
after a few days got used to it and was pain free.

Good Luck :D

I'm now a tummy girl - in my first cycle I started with the thigh as it "sounded" less invasive but switched to the tummy and it hurt less. Also used an ice pack which made the world of difference. Next go (March 23rd) will be all in my poor tummy!

hey hun

i was told your tummy would be easier although the thought of that freaked me out. i was told its easier as you have more flab there and can pinch it better. so i tried it and never had any problems. i didnt once bruise either....and i used puregon too.

hope that helps

you'll be fine

Nicki I'm sure you will be fine. The clinic usually give you loads of needles, you could always practice inserting the needle into an orange before you have to do it to yourself (obviously not the same needle!), just for you to get the feel of it.

Relax though otherwise it will be uncomfortable!

I was told to do it in the thigh because if hurts less. Have nothing to compare it to but it didnt really hurt. It stung once and a while but that was the medication going in. Not the actual needle.
