Hey Niki your getting to the good bit i see....i used my tummy only because i had friends i know who did ivf before me and both responded better to the stimms when it was done in the tummy...one friend had double the eggs ?? i have a lazy ovary my right one never reacts to stimms so this time i did all my stimms on my left side and we had the best crop yet...

Hey Nicki, I now do all injections in my tummy except for PIO shots. I used to do HCG shots in the leg and it made my leg hurt later. The shots in the tummy do not hurt at all! Good Luck Girlie

Hi Nicki

You'll be fine. Just look at all the support that you have on here. I did legs for go 1 as could not face tummy. I bruised a lot on both thighs on the sides and front. Plucked up courage to do tummy and found that it was MUCH easier for me. Less bruises - hardly at all. Sure that I have more there to pinch up!!!!

I use puregon from the pen and it really is easy to use. Just dial and stab. Honest - I am a wimp!!!!

You are going to do great.

Lots of Luck
Carolyn

This is my third ivf. The first two times, I took my stimming meds and lupron in the tummy. I bruised really bad and had lots of pain.

This time I was at a new clinic. They had me take the lupron in the thigh, which hurt a lot less and did not bruise. They had me take the stimming meds in the hip (the same place you take the progesterone injections). I have had very little pain if any this time. I also had the best outcome for ER and egg quality out of all three times. I am currently in the 2ww and praying for a BFP.

Hi Nicki

If it is the same one that I used then it is bright yellow and in a blue carry case. The needle attaches to one end. Right! and then the other end has a dial. You wind that out when the cartridge is inserted inside the pen and then when you have the needle inside you then you push it back in. I usually watch the plunger to see it move as I injected so I know that the drugs are actually inside of me.

Not sure that I have helped you at all. Does that make any sense? Might not dial out until you have the cartridge inside. If you are concerned then get your clinic to look at the pen. I have never had an issue.

Lots of luck

Prayingforamiracle - Let us know your test results. I wish you a BIG BFP!!! I see that you were able to adopt last July. Was that a long, expensive process? I have considered it myself but keep hearing negative things about it, especially the financial part.

Good luck Nicki with your injections. they are all worth it. I found that when I was having a hard time sticking myself, I would say I'm doing this for you baby, then do it. It works much better. :)

Hi Nicki. The build-up is way worse than the actual needle. With the pen you dial-up and push, and it moves down and back the way you came. With mine it would do it even if there was no cartridge. The gage on the needle tip is so fine, you hardly feel it. Lol, and I too did the the tummy as I had lots to grab there. Just make sure you leave an inch or so around your belly button where you don't inject. Good luck!!!

tummy

Post by MissSunshine »

Hello,
I am injecting both injections into my tummy, which has a greenish bruised colour now... I got put off my thigh when my mother in law (when I was going through IUI) hammered the late night injection into my thigh, she did not have a clue and pretended she did, and It was the first time I had done this! I was honestly limping for a good two days!
I once had the HCG in my bum, which i did not even feel a bit.. I am hoping I will be able to do the same thing when the time comes.. approx 10 days!!
side of the bum I think.. I am not sure, like I said, couldn't feel a thing..and those needles were loooooong!!
I am going to ask the doctor on Monday when I go in for my second scan.
Good luck with everything everyone x
31 years young, 4 attempts at IUI failed now on my first Cycle of IVF.
