I found this site and decided to join because you all sound so supportive of each other. I have just failed my first cycle of IVF (af arrived yesterday!) and will be starting FET (natural cycle I think) in January. My treatment has been fairly traumatic as they kept trying to stop it and I refused (long story and it's costing a fortune - no NHS as too old/GP won't help out with drugs so every cycle self funded).
What I wanted to ask is, I only had 7 follicles, I did however get 6 embies (2 replaced, 2pr frozen and 2 didn't cleave). Does anyone have experience of thawing and what can I expect from my 2 embies? Is it likely they will survive or not - I will probably go straight onto my 2nd cycle of IVF in Feb if they do not. If anyone can enlighten me I would appreciate it. Also, does anyone know how IVF affects your cycle in the following month - are you more fertile or less?
Thanks

Kate
Me: 39
DH: 33
History: LAP/HSG/
IVF#1 BFN
FET Jan04

Hi Kate and welcome to the board. I only joined this week but have learned loads about the tmts by trawling through old threads. I'm also self-funded due to age (in Norway where I live) and going for my 1st FET in Jan/Feb. I've got 4 frosties and am curious as to my chances of getting any through to ET. Sorry I don't have answers to either of your questions but I'll follow the answers as I'm wondering too.

Debra.

Me. 39
DH. 26 (ahem)
History: tubes clipped by choice 12 years ago. 1 successful IVF in 2002.
