Hi Erin

I want to smack them one 2! i told them on the Tuesday i was bleeding and had done the test's,
they said still to early (13 days after transfer)
that was it cut short again. I feel lucky to be getting the treatment on the NHS and feel that i cant complain (they wouldnt give me the chance to speak anyway).

I work in the healthcare sector (Dental Practice) i know its very different
opposite ends ha ha! but its a very scary place for some people and we get calls and people coming in worried about having treatment and in pain.

We never turn them away and no matter how busy we are make time to reassure them. I am just stunned at the people who have dealt with me,
great in the clinic but as soon as your away nothing.

I am not comparing the two at all, i just hope that they are more supportive to the people who have had more than one failed attempt.

Hi there,

I don't get a chance to post much these days, but I felt I had to here.

Firstly, I agree, a positive is a positive so congratulations.

Secondly, try not to panic too much about your bleeding - believe me I know it's easier said than done... Lots of people bleed and it's amazing how common it is. I bled with both my sons - with my first I had brown, red, clots and cramps - the full works. He has just turned 3... It could be implantation bleeding, so try and stay positive.

As for the pessaries - I don't know what Scottish clinic you are at - I was at Edinburgh an they too stopped the pessaries after a positive so I never took any after becoming pregnant. I was told if you are pregnant you start to make your own hormones to support. It's not common practise in England it seems, but each clinic is different.

I went to the EPU with both my sons as well - in fact I was a regular! I know it's early, but they would do blood tests to check your count and see if it's rising. I am shocked at the heartlessness of your clinic - where are you?

Try and take it easy and don't give up hope. I wish you all the very best.

Hi Everybody

Thank you all so much for support. Am still on a roller coaster ride at the moment up then down, today was my offical test date 16 days after transfer positive again, still bleeding but only very slightly now, Phoned Clinic told them pos result but have had three days bleeding, again told it isnt sounding to hopeful test again in one week so am playing a waiting game.

I am away working in Inverness at the moment so have been addicted to this sight for support as i am away from hubby not that he knows what to say.

I am really not sure what i am to think at the moment one minute i think everything is ok then speaking to the sister this morning i felt doubtful.

I just hope that more support is given to people who have been through this process more than once it seems really mechanical the way i have been spoken to i know you cant committ yourself these days in health care due to law suits ETC but advice and intrest like eveybody on this site has shown me is all i would have excpected.

Thank you all so much

Michelle - hang on in there. It's a good sign if the bleeding has eased - you'd really know if it was a M/C...

Please take it easy - especially at work. If you can, get yourself to an early pregnancy unit - that's what they are they for. The one in Edinburgh is fantastic (sorry, I don't know here you are based when not working away). I'm not sure if there is one in Inverness...

Anyway, take care

Hi Zoe

I live in Stornoway, will be going home in two weeks.
My friend is taking me to the early pregnacy unit in inverness on Monday.

I was wondering about the miscarrying im not in pain just quite a bit of blood stops and starts 16 days today from egg transfer would i be getting pains so early on? its so confuseing the not knowing what on earth is going on.

If it hasnt worked why would i get pos test results actually 7 of them now
stupid i know but am just so paranoid i know if embryo has detached itself would still read positive.

I am also having to kirb myself from going and getting more tests
and just waiting and hopeing to get seen on Monday would a scan be able to show anything so early on at least this way i would know.

hi there your story sounds so close to what happened to me my first ivf i got a bfp and also stopped the pessaries the day of my test in a couple of hours later i started to bleed very lightly and phoned the hospital right away and was told that i was to send in the confirmation slip to them and that was it no advice niothing the bleeding cotinued and got heavier phoned clinic and was told there was niothing they could do but basicly i was misscarrying and to get on with it i had ti fight with them to get seen and that took 3 weeks and when iwent to the appiontment i was told i was 2 days late for my growth scan i was gutted and i was paying to be treated like shit my piont is if you feel that something is wrong demand that they see you and good luck and i hope all goes well for you and your wee embie

Hi michelle, i've been reading your thread....i'm truly shocked that your clinic is behaving in this way...it's such a senstive issue...don't they get it! As for advise, i'm afraid it's my first cycle and so i don't have much experience, but i would demand they see you right away..so what if you're having treatment on the NHS..i too work in nhs (funnily enough as dentist too) and i can tell you the patients are demanding..this doesn't change our management of them...as you say we make every effort to see them as soon as poss or reassure them. Thinking of you..hope everything goes ok.

Hi Michelle,

Firstly - YOU ARE NOT STUPID. Don't even think like that. It's no wonder you are worried and are perfectly normal to be. Tests I'm afriad will not set your mind at rest, so don't waste any more money. I'm glad you've a friend taking you up to the clinic - I'm sure once you tell them about it, they'll be fantastic and you'll get the care you deserve. Just be patient and wait and see if they do bloods and what results that holds....

I can't helped you with the M/C question. When I lost my baby it was a missed miscarriage so I had to have a D&C eventually. I just knew though that something was wrong. My friend had a M/C and she said there was no doubt - there was masses of blood etc.

I hope all goes well for your tomorrow and you get some kind of answer to put your mind at rest. Take care

Hi All

I phoned early pregnacy clinic 2 day they where very helpful and very supportive.

I again against advice done 2 more tests both had very faint lines
the other test had bolder lines, so i think its safe to say ET didnt work this time for me.

I am feeling a lot more at ease now i understand better what is happening
the fainter the lines become when HCG levels drop.

It is easier to accept when you have things explained to you in a kind and understanding fashion. I am still to test in a week just to be 100% sure
but they said at early preg unit to contact them if i need anymore help or advice so faith is restored in NHS just wish i could go to them for treatment.

Thank you all again
