Hi all

I haven't posted for a while but have still been reading the boards and trying to keep up with whose who although I don't reognise many people on here except Traci!!
I'm starting my first ivf cycle in December with EC hopefully around 19th January so will be sniffing over Xmas! I hope there'll be some of you cycling around the same time as I think I'll go crazy doing it alone! I'm 32 and dh is 30 and we have unexplained ttc 4 years now.
Traci, have been reading about your cousin being a donor for you, i think it's fantastic and you so deserve to be sucessful. Was also absolutely gutted to read about Tracey S bless her.
Have also got a few questions aas my clinic are not particularly helpful with info! Was originally having a short protocol cycle but has now been changed to long protocol. My last blood results were FSH 8.8 (highest it's ever been) LH was 13.9 and the other one, is it oestradol?! was 120 is this normal?
Also has anyone here had treatment at Isis in Colchester? Have been thinking of going there if my NHS go doesn't work - nothing like psoitive thinking eh!
Anyway enough of me rambling, hope to chat to you all soon and good luck to everyone whose already cycling or waiting to test.
Dawn
xx

hello dawn,

I recognise your name, but I dont think weve posted before. you must have been posting while I was just board 'watching'.
Im sorry I cant help you with regards to your short protocol, but I just wanted to say Im at isis in colchester.
have been there for the last 18 months and we have had 4 cycles with them- 3 failed and one early m/c. (have history of m/c, have had 4 now) they are really lovely and very friendly. I must admit though that I dont have anything else to compare them with, not even nhs, as we cant get nhs where we are. They were a bit scatty when they moved, but they are sorting themselves out now!
We did contemplate bourne hall, but isis was nearer. we are only 15 minutes away. Our consultant has just referred us to st marys for recurrent m/c. our consultant hopes we will do a fet in jan but Im very doubtful as I think our st marys appointments wont be over.
isis have open days/eves, have you been? its really weird as its on an industrial estate!

anyway youll never have to go to isis because you wont need to!!! PMA!

I wish you all the best for your tmt dawn,
lots of love
kathryn
x

Hi Kathryn
Thanks for your reply.
I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriages it must be a nightmare to get so far and for that to happen. Fingers crossed they can sort it out for you at St Mary's.
I've just rec'd the info pack for Isis and I thought it must be really strange having your eggs collected on a business park!!!
The lady I spoke to was really nice and the consultant (I think it's Adrian Lower) is really highly rated. he used to work at the clinic I go to in Norwich but that was before I started going there. We are very lucky to have one go on the NHS but I find the nurses at the clinic very unsympathetic! One of them told me "you think you know your body but you don't"!!! She also said I was far more anxious about tmt then other ladies!! I can't help being shit scared of something like this.
If you do a fet in January we'll be cycling together. Did you have sedation or a ga for your previous cycles? Does ec hurt?!
Sorry to ask lots of questions!
Love
Dawn
xx

hi dawn,
great to hear from you,
yes adrian lower is highly rated and hes soooo lovely. I think he used to do some work at harley street too. Sarah the main nurse at isis is also very very lovely and very caring too.
those nurses youve dealt with sound horrible, poor you. EVERYBODY gets anxious, thats not fair of them to say that. god, I was on the phone at every little thing I wasnt sure of.
Ive always had a sedation for my ec and I dont feel a thing or know anything about it, except for what my hubbie says after! /last time I told adrian lower he was hurting my minx! amongst other stuff! but im totally away with the fairys. first time i produced oodles of eggs, and was really ill with ohss. the fets were no problem as they were natural, and the last cycle I again produced zillions of eggs but I kept my fluid intake really high and I was ok. so drink loads of water dawn!

im not sure whats normal with regards to fsh and lh levels etc, as Ive never been told what mine were, so im useless there! sorry.

take care for now dawn,
and keep in touch,

lots of love
kathryn
x

Hi Kathryn

Sorry for delay in replying but have had a virus on the pc and couldn't use it for a while.
So you told the consultant he was hurting your minx!!!! DH had better tape my mouth up!
Well AF arrived on time for a change (was gutted cos we'd had a good crack this month too!! but also relieved that I wasn't late so it didn't mess the dates up) so I start sniffing on the 16th Dec. So be prepared for me to hassle you with questions!! When will you be starting your cycle?
Keep in touch
Dawn
xxx
