 Well ladies the results are in and it was a BFN. I'm doing OK but a little numb right now. Guess I need a little time to figure out what to do next and I will probably do some better research on things. I drank a couple of margarita's with DH last night and he was so sweet. Thanks to all of you for your prayers.

Catherine - Sorry for your news too, maybe the tests will reveal a "fix" and you will get a BFP next time.

Kat - Good luck -- those little embies are growing GREAT! I never had frosties either. Maybe those will be baby #2. he he..... PMA to you on your wait.

Wanda - any news?

Bridget - Hope things are calming down for you. Praying for you on your 2ww.

Children - don't appologize for talking about your little ones. I enjoy reading about them..........gives me a ton of hope for the rest of us.

Hope everyone else is doing good!

Hi All-
My heart goes out to Julia and Wanda, I'm so sorry to learn of your news. During the course of the week I still am taken by tears when I have time to think of my situation. So, as my football coach says: heads up lads, shoulders back, confidence. I may have lost this round but I am not beaten. Passing warm fuzzy vibes your way.

Happy baby thoughts to Kat as well as Bridget Jones-praying for your BFP.

Hope everyone is doing well.

DH had his doc appt yesterday and his plumbing appears to be fine. He has a little inflammation [prostatitis] which may contribute to our/his 'male' factor. We're waiting to hear on the blood work. Interestingly, the doc told DH that clomid can help with increasing number and motility. Has anyone had experience with this treatment? Trying to schedule the surgery now. The window is narrow so as not to miss a cycle.

All the best to everyone

Hi

To Wanda and Julia - I am sorry to see your results - it's not easy however many times you have been through it.

I am fine, DH has gone off skiing today for a week, left at 4am. This means my first week of 2ww will go quickly as it always does when he's away.
I have another day of doing very little and have a few films lined up to watch but it looks like it's going to be a lovely Spring day so I may have to have a little stroll later on.
I got a call yesterday afternoon to say they are freezing all 3 of our remaining embryos, one is now at 8 cell and the other 2 at 6 so that's good news.

Has anyone done any kind of exercise during 2ww? I do 2 aerobics classes a week normally but obviously don't want to do anything to harm my little ones. Will just have to go for a few walks instead...

How many of you ladies on this board have done egg donor which has failed and have any of you done a second cycle using a different donor and did it take. Also are there any ladies on this board age 47 who got pregnant with own eggs.

Hi Wanda

We used three different egg donors and six attempts before we got a BFP with twins. I am now 44 and 21 weeks 3 days - boy/girl fraternal twins :)

I think we expected a guarenteed positive result when we went down the donor track. Quite surprising it took so long. The quality of the donor eggs quite considerably. THe first donor was 26 and we collected 14 eggs/10 fertislised/three transfered and none to freeze. The quality was poor and transfer occurred on the 3rd day.

The second donor was 28. 42 eggs collected/39fertilised, 8 blasocysts all of varying quality - we have three blastocysts left from this cycle as all are borderline poor quality and may not thaw. I suffered a miscarriage on a FET with these blastocycts.

The last donor was 23. 44 eggs collected 16 blastocycts - best of all the donors in quality. Still took me one fresh and two FET to get a BFP!

May mean that I have implantation issues and not neccesarily the quality of the eggs.

Hope this information helps and good luck :)

Cheers Di

Hi

Julia and Wanda – I’m so sorry to read your sad news. Sending you PMA for your next steps. Take good care of yourselves.

Kat – glad you got good news about the freezing too. I think a bit of exercise is better than doing nothing and going for walks in the fresh air is what I did too. I’m keeping everything crossed that all goes well for you.

Bridget – hope you’re doing OK on your 2ww. Good luck!!!

Have a good start to the week everyone!

Hello Ladies:

Julia & Wanda: I'm so sorry to hear your news. Take care.

Kat: Great news on your 2 embies transferred and your 3 embies that were frozen! Take it easy during the 2 ww.

BJ: I had cramps very early in my pregnancy. I was so afraid that I was going to miscarry, but I think it was just implantation.

Sonia: Glad to hear that you had a nice time in the Alps.

Yasmina: Thanks for the compliment on Andrew. He is my little sweet pea. Eloise is a doll!!!! What a head of hair she has. I am having trouble with sleep deprevation also!! Andrew sleeps about 3 hours the first night shift and then wakes about every 1.5 - 2 hours after that. I try to nap during the day, but I cannot. Are you breast feeding Eloise? I am breast feeding Andrew and it sometimes can get overwhelming. I think, what if I can't get him to latch, what will I do. I will introduce bottles at week 4. This will give me a little more freedom. DH can feed him my breastmilk from a bottle if i'm not up to it or we can actually go out for dinner and have my mom watch the little guy. I hear that it gets better around week 6 or 8. I'm ready for a straight 4-5 hours of sleep. Andrew's NB clothing are too big also. I have been keeping him in gowns. They make the late night changes much easier. I'm still trying to recover also, as I tore during delivery and had to have stiches.

Anna: How are you? You must be getting close now. I had such a difficult time the last few weeks with sleeping and comfort issues.

Bev: I hope you are Wills are doing well.

Hello to anyone else that I have missed.

Regards,
Tammy

Hi Tammy,

Yes, I am breastfeeding Eloise, but not enough, I used formula on day 4 because my milk had not come in at that time, she already lost 15 oz of her birth weight by then! She also needed formula to get rid of Jaundice. Eloise is not yellowish anymore but I still use formula once a day (2~4 oz). She has formed a pattern of eating, sleeping, pooping and I can get more sleep now. We have already taken her out to restaurants twice (her 9th and 14th day), once to a party at our friends' house (her 11th day)! She has been out shopping with us many times - my DH could not leave her alone, he wants to show her off! He takes her to her pediatrician by himself which attracted a lot of attention, because few infants like that age (her 6th day) go out without mothers - I was at my OB's office taking staples off in the same time. My OB did not operate the c-section well, I am having some trouble to heal and I am still on pain killers.

Wanda, Catharine, and Hopeful, I am terribly sorry for your results and this sucks big time. I know you all have already had your own way of dealing with it and some of you have started already to explore other alternatives. I wish we could so something to help, but I can only offer my understanding and sincere wish for your sucess in the near future.

Sonia, thanks for your kind words to Eloise. I hope yours comes soon also! Let us know your progress.

Bev, how are you doing? Anna, how about you? You have had a wonderful pregnancy so far, I wish your birth story is a good one also.

Take care, everyone else.

Julia and Wanda - I am so sorry about your BFN. I too was negative this last cycle and know how you feel. I hope that you will try again. I think there is always hope - even for those of us who are older.

I am scheduled to start a new cycle around April 19th. I am very excited and hope that this time works out better. Last cycle I produced 7 eggs - 4 fertilized but the lab lost (accidentally threw away) 3 of our 4 embryos. The one remaining was a perfect 7 celled embryo so I know I can make them! Hopefully this time I will produce at least as many as last time. I am so excited to try again!

Hi all
Wisconsingal - I wish I could make the next 2 weeks go quickly for you so you can get another scan.. I am sure babies must develop at different rates as this whole thing seems to be a bit hit and miss so it may well catch up to where it should be by the next time you are scanned. I know that's not much help and understand your concerns but hang in there.

I am just feeling bloated from the progesterone and tired too. Incidentally I am converted to the 'back door' method for the progesterone - no leakage and no need for panty liners. Sorry if tmi !!
Trying to remember from last time how far into the 2ww I started getting sore boobs and then telling myself even if I am pg I might not get sore boobs this time.

Tammy and Yasmina, I like hearing about your babies so I don't mind you posting details. Reminds me that there is hope....

Wisconsingal

Apparently with IVF the embryos are slow to take off but after a while they seem to grow normally and at the expected rate. The especially applies to blastocyst transfers.

I would not worry too much at this stage - I know easier said than done :D

Hoping the next two weeks go by very fast for you.
